"Wen Ling! Are you alright up there?!" Qian Qian suddenly called from below, snapping Wen Ling out of her thoughts.

Wen Ling quickly gave her a thumbs up before carefully crouching down to inspect the platform more closely.

There was a strange metal part that stuck out from below. Wen Ling instantly deduced that it was one of the iron supports that held up the platform. The weird thing was, why did the support break off as well? There was no way my weight would've broken off all the iron beams underneath the platform, Wen Ling thought to herself.

Positioning her feet in a safer place, Wen Ling reached down to touch the metal piece. Oddly enough, the metal easily broke off in her hand. The color was also an unusual shade of orange. Thinking that she may have found something, Wen Ling decided to break off more of the iron support before going back to the lift.

Once on the ground, Qian Qian immediately rushed up to her.

"I swear if you stayed up there any longer I would've had a panic attack!" Qian Qian exclaimed.

Giving her friend a little laugh, Wen Ling showed her the metal piece in her hand.

The manager also came and took a look, a puzzled expression on his face.

"I got this while I was up on the landing," Wen Ling began. "I broke it off from one of the support beams that was supposed to hold up the platform."

"You broke it off?! With your bare hands? Aren't the supports made from iron?" Qian Qian questioned.

"I thought so too which was why I thought it was too suspicious to just leave it," Wen Ling replied.

"This is indeed odd, the color seems to be off too. Maybe something caused the iron to look like this?" The manager said as he carefully touched the orange piece.

"Hmm… Can we get this inspected?" Wen Ling asked after pondering for a minute.

"Of course, I can bring this to a lab," her manager answered.

"Alright, let's have this looked at then," Wen Ling said as she gently handed the iron piece to the manager.

"What do we do now?" Qian Qian questions as she watches the manager walk away.

"What are you two doing here?" asked a deep, male voice from behind them.

Swerving around, Wen Ling's heart almost dropped. Walking up to them was a tall man dressed in a dark, navy suit. His face held a familiar cold expression.

"Lang Tian Yu," Wen Ling nearly sneered.

Qian Qian noticed the change in tone and knew something was definitely off. Before the set incident, Wen Ling always looked forward to meeting him. She would call his name with such sweetness and tenderness. Now, for Wen Ling to look so disgusted, something bad must've happened, Qian Qian thought as her eyes went back and forth between her friend and the man that was now standing in front of them.

"You have yet to answer me Wen Ling. What are you doing here?" Tian Yu asked again.

"It's none of your business," Wen Ling answered coldly, crossing her arms.

"Well it is, since I am your fiance," Tian Yu said, emphasizing the last word.

Wen Ling could feel her blood start to boil at such words. How dare he say he's my fiance now and later abandon me at my wedding?! Pushing the painful memories back, Wen Ling forced herself to keep her composure.

"Let's go Qian Qian," Wen Ling said as she suddenly grabbed her friend's hand and led her away.

Qian Qian quietly followed but both her and Tian Yu saw it. The pained expression that flickered across Wen Ling's face for that split second.

Tian Yu was beyond surprised at this point. What has gotten into his fiance??? She was never like this before. Where had all the sweetness and gentleness gone to? However, what bothered him the most was that short moment in which Wen Ling looked like she had just witnessed her nightmare come true. Why did she look so hurt? Did something else happen to her during the accident? Tian Yu slowly began to walk away as he pulls out his phone. I need to find out myself, he thought as he hit the "call" button.
