The research and development of various fields of Fae Masters had been a subject of debate and study throughout the myriad Eras. Every new Era that is born is accompanied with a new Attribute of Fae just waiting to be discovered or created.
In the previous Era, the Dichotomous Era, the existence of Blacksmithing Attributed Fae and Alchemy Attributed Fae were discovered by two Rank 9 Fae Immortals. Both of them walked down their own paths, but ended up creating the sole Era without immense bloodshed or conflict.
Research and development into the paths of Alchemy and the paths of Blacksmithing had been created, and a new wave of Fae Masters interested in these fields were born.
In the various Eras before the last one, paths such as the Sword Attribute or the Spear Attribute were immensely popular, giving rise to the numerous weapon type Fae that existed without the influence of other Attributes.
Before that was the era of Taming, where Fae Masters would mutate spirit beasts, spirit plants, ghosts and all manners of Corpses and Undead in order to fight and battle for them. It was what led to the enormous variety of Fae materials and variant species of both Fae and spirit beasts today....
Arthur in his previous life had researched the Shadow Attribute and the Bone Attribute, eventually forming Laws based on these two Attributes. The former was at the fifth level of Laws, while the latter was at the fourth level. Relatively below average in the scheme of things....
Arthur had dabbled in the different spirit beasts, Corpses, spirit plants, Ghosts and even Undead with the Shadow Attribute and the Bone Attribute. He explored using these two specific Attributes for Alchemy, or even Blacksmithing, but was mainly focused on his goal of becoming stronger, and researching the formula for stronger, higher Ranked Fae.
In terms of Shadow and Bone Attribute versions of the Blood Iron Nurturing Pool or the Coffin Evolution Ritual, or even the Ghost Nurturing Swamps, Arthur's knowledge and comprehension naturally exceeded the limits of a Fae Master, venturing into the realm of Fae Immortals.
But with regards to both Wood Attribute Laws and Emotion Attribute Laws, Arthur was still relatively immature in that regard.
He knew it himself..... He had hit a wall in regards to the limits of what he could do, solely with his previous life as a foundation.
But still.... it was quite the beautiful "wall" if he was being perfectly honest.
"The weakness of most snake or serpent-species spirit beasts is roughly seven inches below where the skull ends. If you can hit that section then perhaps you could defeat it quite-".
"It's a fucking Ghost, Arthur!? It doesn't have a physical body!".
Arthur suppressed a smirk as he watched Parvan send a stream of Heavy Sand towards the massive, forty metre long Serpent Ghost. The extraordinarily heavy sand collided with the thick layer of leaves and scales of the Ghost, causing an enormous amount of sparks to spray all over the earth beneath it.
In his previous life, Arthur had found the remnants of a Rank 5 Fae Master tomb after he became a Fae Immortal. All of the Fae inside it had long since vanished, and all that was left behind were notes and experiences regarding the experimentation of snake and serpent-species Ghosts, as well as how to form them.
This was the only Wood Attributed Ghost that was created from this Rank 5 Fae Masters experiments.
"The Viridis Forest Serpent Revenant is a type of Ghost that is solely used for combat! It has high offensive and defensive capabilities, but lacks speed and supportive abilities like most other Ghosts possess! It can't even possess inanimate objects like Verde and the others can!".
The Revenant-class Ghost swerved away from a sword shaped slash made out of Bronze Sand. Henrik, standing beside Parvan towards the rear of the battlefield, commanded the sword shaped Bronze Sand blades, sending them flying towards the Viridis Forest Serpent Revenant, causing numerous "wounds" to appear all over its massive body.
By wounds, Arthur didn't mean that blood, or even scales fell of its body, only that the section of its body that the Bronze Sand slashed at had become slightly more.... transparent. Leaking out a little bit of green mist here and there.
The massive serpent ghost narrowed its eyes at Parvan and Henrik, before opening its massive jaws and spraying a thick, green coloured poison towards the two sand users. The pair sent each other a glance before darting out to either side, forcing the Viridis Forest Serpent to choose between the two Fae Masters.
Fortunately for Henrik, it chose Parvan.
The forty metre long serpent slithered across the sky, making it appear more like an ancient dragon rather than a combination of serpent-related Fae Materials, Emotions, Thoughts and Desires. It's green coloured body still allowed the sun to shine through, only making the earth beneath it appear slightly darker.
Parvan gritted his teeth, and flicked his arm backwards, opening his palm and activating another Fae.
Almost instantly, numerous large stone monoliths appeared around Parvan, obscuring the Viridis Forest Serpent's line of sight.
It could move through walls, but that didn't mean that it could see solid objects.
It could however-.
It's pupils narrowed slightly, becoming closer to a slightly thick line, rather than its usual diamond shape. It's tongue flicked out at the air around it, before turning its head rather quickly and rushing towards a certain position.
The massive tail of the Viridis Forest Serpent collided with a large stone monolith, causing Parvan's voice to echo out.
"Shit!".
Arthur smirked slightly, raising his voice.
"Most Serpent-species spirit beasts, Corpses and even Ghosts can detect fluctuations in the heat and the air around them! Hiding in front of them are a lot harder than hiding in front of spiders or bears!".
Parvan turned around, his expression slightly annoyed.
"You could've told me that earlier!?".
Arthur just shrugged his shoulders, noticing the presence of another Fae Master.
His eyes narrowed slightly, before widening, the corners of his mouth raising as he stood up to clap.
With the stone monolith forest, with all the dust and sand being kicked up, the use vision and the air fluctuations weren't as good as just thermal temperature seeking. The yellow tinted eyes of the large ghost glowed slightly, before locking onto a single heat signature between two large monoliths.
Using its massive tail, the Viridis Forest Serpent launched itself forward, slithering through the air and widening its gaping maw to the point where it could fit a fully grown mortal elephant. Breaking through the dust and sand, it crunched down on the target in front of it.
The large Serpent ghost froze the moment it's ghostly fangs pierced through the thick epidermis of the creature in its mouth, instantly spitting the large fleshy abomination out, an expression of disgust passing through the eyes of the Viridis Forest Serpent.
Looking down at the mangled, rotting Corpse in front of it, the Viridis Forest Serpent instantly felt a wave of nausea wash over it, as the balance between its Thoughts, Emotions and Desires took a turn for the worst. The sheer amount of desires within its translucent physique skyrocketed, and Arthur glanced at the figure of a brown haired young woman, standing closer towards Henrik on the other side of the practice field.
The faint undulations of a Rank 2 Fae Master could be felt emanating from this young woman.
Flicking her hand out, the young brown haired woman, controlled the mangled Corpse that the Viridis Forest Serpent had just spat out, causing it to stand up, despite the huge amount of strange reddish-black liquid constantly being released from the wounds on its body.
The woman eyed Arthur's figure, a slight smirk could be seen on her face.
"The Hungering Desire Corpse is created out of the remains of Humans. Unlike Ghosts, which rely on the balance between Thoughts, Emotions and Desires, Corpses and spirit beasts don't need such a balance. If you can disrupt such a balance, then the ghosts who are under a Fae Masters control might go wild....".
The corners of Milena's mouth rose, and she just flicked her hair back shrugging her shoulders.
"You said it yourself Arthur.... If I want to walk the path of Poisons in conjunction with the Corpse Attribute, I'll have to research Corpses themselves in their relation to various poisons..... I'm just taking a page out of your book".
