(26) You could have just told me that

After a few minutes of trying to figure out how to communicate with Psychi, Kraton remembered how the latter had shown him; all he had to do was press his activation key(his palm) onto the blank space next to the other person's name and send in mental commands, similar to how you summon the Data Rock in the first place.

Mental commands are used to both establish a link between Rocks, and communicate through the link, whatever Kraton wanted to say, he just had to think it and pass it into the Rock. This was very helpful for creatures who couldn't speak or write, another useful aspect was that it could help translate, however translations were word by word, so sometimes it wouldn't make complete sense.

"Can you explain the Knowledge thing again" Kraton muttered under his breath whilst trying to pass it onto his Rock. White lines of characters and words appeared next to Psychi's greyed-out name, and it wasn't too long until his Psychi's name became white, and red lines of text appeared under Kraton's own message.

"I asked a friend for a simple explanation," Kraton read it aloud, "In short, advanced Knowledge is like your sixth sense, it uses your Develpoment Knowledge to identify actions, and then alerts you. Sometimes it would allow you to project multiple scenarios in your mind of what your opponent will do next, however the more complex the action, the less scenarios you can visualise."

"This is where your Core Knowledge comes into play, at this stage, your Core Knowledge acts as your potential, allowing you to multitask more, whether it is in battles or in simple tasks like cooking."

"Oh, another thing by the way is that there is a connection between your skills and both your Core and Advanced Knowledge. At some point, it is different for everyone, but if you understand your skill, and have enough potential, your skill cooldown decreases. This will help in the far future if you get skills like the heal i have."

"..." Kraton was speechless, such a simple explanation, why didn't Psychi just tell him this before. Even someone with 150 Knowledge Points would understand this. 'Reach 400 my a$$', Kraton was pretty sure Psychi had just said that to mock his 256 points of Knowledge before.

Kraton suddenly recalled the two new skills he acquired and found something confusing, he quickly checked the basic information of Psychi, and then checked Kim's, however what he discovered was mildly suprising. Neither of them had the skills 'Hide' or 'Conceal', or any of its upgraded versions. Kraton had initially thought that these were basic skills and that most Bosses would have them, but even the Genius Psychi didn't have it.

"How do you get skills?" Kraton mentally typed.

After a brief moment, the words that popped up almost made Kraton spit blood.

"Git Gud"

After a few moments, a laughing face appeared in red, looking more terrifying on the rough stone then it was meant to.

Just when Kraton was about to send curses to Psychi, more lines of text appeared, this time it was the useful information Kraton wanted.

"Getting Skills can be done in multiple ways. The easiest skills to acquire are know as 'Base Skills' and are learnt automatically when you reach the level, sometimes the level requirement is different for other monsters, however they are always learnt around the same level, with some learning it one level early or later."

"Another way is to learn the skill, technique and instructions manually, this is easier with physical techniques than it is to learn Metaphysical skills like my awesome heal, or elemental skills like fireball. Some species have better attributes to certain skills, the witch breed of Yagas find it easier to learn magic than swordsmanship, elves like archery and assassination like hiding and ambushing, and then brutes like you often learning 'thump' or other powerful punch skills. These skills can also be taught by mentors or teachers, not just by books."

"A third set of skills can be learnt by yourself, you just make one up, however if it is similar to another skill, it will be learnt as a sub-skill, or an alteration of the skill. There are also some cases where someone has the mentality of doing something, so much that they acquire a skill, however I should warn you to avoid these people as they are normally delusional and start thinking that they have the skill to split the world in half. 'If they can believe it, then it will happen.' is there motto, don't try it, it won't work."

Psychi's explanation was rather straight-forward and clear, however Kraton had no means to go to a library or find a mentor, he wasn't a very civilized Boss and he didn't have a community either. Heck, he didn't even know what species he was!

"Does the skill 'Camouflage' have a pre-skill?" Kraton asked.

"No" was the first reply, "I wouldn't go for 'Camouflage' if I were you Kraton, if the humans enter your room, and can't see the Boss, they would look around first and would locate you, even if you did have 'Camouflage'. Besides, you're too big to camouflage easily, 'Camouflage skill isn't perfect, and the effects are worse when you're big." Psychi sounded like a teacher, telling Kraton the do's and don'ts, however Psychi didn't know that all the humans thought Kraton had been overthrown, so they didn't even try looking in the Boss Room for him, this allowed Kraton to use 'Hide' without being discovered.

Thinking about this, Kraton wondered whether he had made a new skill, albeit a weak version of 'Camouflage', yet something still felt off, his other skill 'Conceal' was too good to be a skill he made up.

"Do you know the skill 'Conceal'?" Rather than pondering about it himself, Kraton directly asked Psychi.

"The Skill 'Conceal' is a high-level skilled mostly used by forest Boss Assas--. Wait, how do you know about this skill? It's meant to be a secret by those who use it, I was lucky to have lots of friends in the assassination class so they told me their tricks when they were drunk. How come you know?!"

Kraton felt rather uncomfortable after reading this, should he hide the truth, he might look delusional if he told Psychi, besides, it was meant to be a secret.

"Um.. I heard it when I was walking back to my dungeon. Yes, that was it, there were some monsters in the trees and one of them sounded excited, that's when I heard them talking about how 'Conceal' is their life-line.." Kraton hurriedly typed this out, he didn't even notice the random thoughts that he had, being written down too. "I need to sort out my minions, bye!" Kraton then dismissed his Data Rock quickly before Pyschi could interrogate him anymore. On Psychi's side, he stared blankly at the dull grey letters of Kraton that showed that he was now offline.

"I thought he didn't like interacting with the Goblins..."
