Later that night, Anelle and I waited for the team to have a team meeting before we made our way home. After a while, they finished and the coach released them. We began walking to the car. It was dark out, but the crescent moon was glowing enough. We loaded my brother's equipment and loaded in the car. I rolled the window down because I got so hot from the heat that had been trapped inside the car for four hours. All of a sudden, before we pulled away from the parking lot, Matthew came to my window. He dropped a small piece of paper into my lap.
"See you Friday." He claims as he stepped back and picked up coach's belongings. I waved to him as we drove down the street. Then, I leaned back in the seat and relaxed. I couldn't wait either.
We arrived at the house that night and sleep was calling my name as I walked inside the door. I went straight upstairs to the bathroom and brushed my teeth before I went to my room and drifted off to bed.
A few days later, it was Friday. The day that Matthew was taking me out on our date. I woke up with sleep in my eyes, which my mom told me when I was little that I must have dreamt good the night before. I made my way downstairs to snatch something to eat for breakfast.
After I put together a bowl of cereal, I went into the living room and turned on the tv. My phone started going off. It was Matthew.
"Hey! It's me, Matthew. Good morning."
"Good morning. How are you?" I asked him.
"I'm pretty good. You?"
"Great. I'm good too. What're you doing?"
"Oh you know. Stretching, lifting weights, squats, pushups.."
"Uhhh..." I hesitated.
"I'm just kidding. I'm watching Spongebob Squarepants."
"I am too," I giggled.
"Cool!"
"Well I gotta get ready. I'll see you later."
"See you later." He says. I could tell in his voice that he was eager to see me later and he wanted to talk more with me.
An hour passed and I had to be at Baskin Robins in an hour. I was freaking out because I was nowhere near ready to leave the house. I decided to call my best friend Beth to have her come and help me. Luckily, I didn't have to wait for long because she lived a few houses down from me.
She ran upstairs and found me sitting at my vanity rushing to get my makeup done. "What can I do?"
"Oh my gosh thank goodness! Could you please do my hair?"
"Yeah, absolutely."
A short while later, we finally finished makeup, hair and picked out an outfit. I liked at myself in the mirror in my room. I was dressed in my dark blue skinny jeans, my long-sleeved purple shirt and my Nike shoes on that Beth picked out for me. "I can take you to your date."
"Oh okay, yeah that would be great. We should go now then." I suggested. We got into the car and made our way to the ice cream shop in town.
