Bloody Red Crime

earlier back at the campus

two scouts was currently on the fourth floor watching what was happening outside their campus. their focus was the three teams gathering supplies from the complex. after about one hour, Marvin saw the three teams gather at the front of the cafeterias. their bags looked full. when Marvin thought they were going back, they suddenly turned back and one of his classmates got to the jeepney in front of them. after a few minutes a faint engine roaring was heard and the jeepney started moving.

after a few more hours, one of the students started unloading the supplies. at this moment, Marvin saw something that sent a chill down his spine. a big red dog suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Marvin didn't even know when it got there. the other scout saw that too and got up from his seat.

"hey hey hey! where are you going?"

Marvin asked one of his fellow scout who was rushing to go downstairs. he had a worried look on his face. he heard Marvin's question and looked at him with a dumbfounded look on his face.

"what? do you really even have to ask me that? of course i will have to inform the others!"

"really? you want them to die too? huh?"

"it doesn't matter! we have to save them!"

"how can you save them if even them can't save themselves who is good at what they do. look! two of them already died! now, i don't care if you want to die too but please don't try to drag others in your superhero bullshit!"

the other student wasn't able to control his anger. he punched Marvin on his nose strong enough for Marvin to go out of balance and fall to the ground.

"you son of a bitch! you will get everyone killed! i will not let you!"

Marvin quickly got up and punched the student so hard that he quickly lost his consciousness and and fell on the ground hitting his head on the edge of a table.

the student started having spasms all over his body, blood flowed out of his head. Marvin saw this and he reflexively stepped back at the sight of his dying classmate.

'oh shit oh shit oh shit'

"fuck! what do i do?"

Marvin yelled and was biting his nails not knowing what to do, certainly he can't just admit that he killed this student.

'if someone learn about this I'm fucked! i might be locked up or worse!'

Marvin though of this while looking around at the large fourth floor. luckily no one was there except him and the student. as he was looking around he saw the windows on the other side. Marvin kicked the body of the student, he waited for a response but there was nothing. he looked through the window and saw no one below it. Marvin lifted the body of the student all bloodied. he easily carried the slim student through the other side of the building. Marvin placed the student near the window. he was only holding the feet of the student preventing him to fall down.

"I'm so sorry man"

when he loosened his grip on the feet of the student, he heard something.

"ugh, what?"

the student spoke! just after he let go of him Marvin was surprised and felt guilty. the student fell to his death, for real this time. Marvin's body was shaking and his eyes wide open. he calmed himself down and started cleaning the blood all over the place. he was not planning to leave any evidence behind, even his school uniform that has drops of blood on it was disposed.

Marvin went back to his position and he saw Nathan getting impaled by something that he cannot see because it was too far away. he saw a student rushing towards the pack of red dogs before he heard a gunfire.

BANG BANG BANG BANG

the other students were already at the front gate when they heard it. they were just informed by John of what has happened to them outside. the students was eager to help, they already have their weapons on their hands.

'idiots! do they want to die? why do they keep following these people? we're all just students here so why are they acting as if they're our leader!?'

Marvin saw the stupidity of his classmates. luckily there was a new group of people that helped the students outside and also have driven the pack of red dogs away so the other students wont be in danger anymore.

"what the hell is that!?"

an unknown man spoke as he saw the fleeing big red dog. the two others with him looked like they had just seen a ghost.

"enough of that, lets help this people"

a woman said in a white colored blouse and a knee-length black skirt she looked like an office worker. the woman approached the overwhelmed Annie still unable to process what has happened. Annie looked at them looking like a helpless cat.

"please...help" sobs

"its okay, we're here now. everything's going to be alright"

the woman looked at the two men with her glaring eyes at them. she signalled them to carry the guy who's bleeding out on the ground. the two rushed and carefully carried the unconscious guy. they looked at the woman with puzzled look on their faces.

"where should we put him now?"

"at our campus, come on"

Annie lead the three people back to their campus. most of the students were about to come out when they saw Annie and the three people carrying someone. a few moments later when they found out that the guy they were carrying was Nathan. John saw this.

"shit. Nathan! quickly call nurse Josephine!"

John rushed outside to help them carry Nathan. the blood around Nathan's wound has now dried up but he was still unconscious. John looked at Annie who was about to cry. he whispered to Annie.

"who are these people? do you know them?"

Annie looked at John with her watery eyes. she calmed herself down first took a deep breath and breathed out. she wiped her eyes and said.

"i- i don't know. they just came and shot the red dogs"

"can we trust them? they aren't gonna do something stupid, right?"

"we don't have a choice, i didn't have a choice! we can only trust them now. they have guns I'm sure they can protect us. besides, if it were not for them, Nathan and I are already dead and possibly all of the students here"

John fell in deep thought as he looked at the possibility of all of them dying from pack of red dogs.

'I'm just really worried about the guns. i hope they don't use it against us'

John thought as they reach the hallway leading to the school clinic. nurse Josephine met them there. she already prepared the bed and the tools that she will need.

"what happened?"

nurse Josephine asked Annie with a serious tone. although she was just a school nurse now, she had experience being nurse at a real hospital.

"the fur of that god damn monster pierced Nathan on his side. the bleeding stopped now but he's still unconscious"

Annie said with a trace of anger on her voice. she was clenching her fist as they were walking through the door of the school clinic

"fur!?"

one of the men who was silent the whole time exclaimed in surprise as he heard the student's explanation. he can't believed that a fur can do this much damage.

"yes, mister. that monster you just shot had these really tough fur as thin and sharp as a needle and very flexible too"

"unbelievable. I'm glad we had guns to fight that monster"

the other man chuckled lightly and felt a little terrified at the though of that monster. he can't still forget the image of the giant red dog on his head the first time he saw it. he shuddered.

they carefully laid the guy on the bed. when the nurse started taking care of him, the three of them moved outside of the room. behind them was the woman they saved and a guy who looked really worried about the unconscious guy. the woman spoked and asked them.

"who are you misters and miss?"

Annie asked the three. since they were clearly older than them, she asked in a polite manner. after hearing her, the three looked at each other. the woman introduced the two men and herself.

"this is Angelo and this is Robin and I'm Caitlin"

Caitlin first introduced the silent man named Angelo then the guy who shot the red dogs named Robin then she pointed at herself.

"hmmm"

"hello guys, nice to meet ya"

Angelo just nodded at them without saying anything while Robin was clearly more cheerful and outgoing unlike the other guy. Robin reached his hand out to Annie and John to shake hands.

the two quickly grabbed Robin's hand. they quickly introduced themselves. Annie asked another question.

"where are did you came from? how come we didn't see you guys when we were searching the place?"

"oh! you know, we were just travelling down the road just a few blocks from here then we heard the howl, so we run then a few moments later we saw the giant dog and we shot it then he run awa-"

Caitlin grew impatient at the rambling Robin. she rolled her eyes and stopped him.

"stop. sorry about him. he just really like to talk so much. anyway like he said we were travelling and heard the howl that's how we found you guys"

"you said you were travelling, how come you didn't encounter these dogs? because clearly they came from the direction you came from"

"i promised you we didn't know anything about the giant dog"

the silent Angelo spoke in a serious tone before continuing.

"if you think we lured the dog there, you are absolutely wrong. if we wanted to take over your campus, we wouldn't have saved you. plus we can do that without that monster's help"

Angelo showed his shotgun to Annie.

"yeah yeah yeah. plus we're good people you know?"

Robin chimed in the conversation. John nodded at them. he believed what Angelo and Caitlin had said.

"okay. anyway, thank you really. if it wasn't for you, we are already dead."

"please, feel free to move around. we also have foods and other supplies here. keep yourself comfortable"

Annie felt deep gratitude towards the three and left them. she entered the clinic to check on Nathan again.

"yes, yeah. will do!"

Robin said in a slightly raised voice with a smile on his face.

later that day. it was four in the afternoon when Annie organized a meeting with the students on the fourth floor.

"sadly, we lost a lot of men and women. this will be a great lesson for us to become more vigilant and careful in the future"

Annie said with a grim look on her face but her voice was still firm and serious. then a student shouted. it was Marvin.

"BULLSHIT! you think this is a great lesson? please, don't give us that CRAP!"

Marvin looked furiously at Annie who was standing at the podium. she wasn't able to refute what Marvin said. Marvin continued

"how many people died? huh? you know what i call that? INCOMPETENCE! you were so careless. if just didn't used that jeepney, those monsters wouldn't have heard you and no one had to die. their bloods are on YOUR hands now. you have to live with that for the rest of your LIFE!"

"yeah! it's your fault!"

sobs "my Joseph" sobs

some of the students agreed at what Marvin said. some of them lost their best friends some lost their lovers, so it was understandable.

"we are really sorry, we only did that to maximize our time and carry more supplies at the same time. you can't just blame us mindlessly, we did that for you guys. no one knew that there were monsters out there. we checked the perimeter and there was nothing"

Annie explained with a pained voice. tears started to flow on her eyes. her face crumpled as she was explaining everything.

"yeah, tell that to those who are dead outside. i don't know about you guys, but I'm not going to follow this incompetent person anymore, acting like a leader. after all they are just students here, just like us"

Marvin walked out of the fourth floor heading to his room. then one by one, the students left Annie who was still standing on the podium. a few moments later, only Annie, John the three new people and only a handful of students were left.

the night came by fast. it was now seven thirty in the morning.
