Independent Fledgling

Laurence's POV:

I sat up slowly in bed, I could feel the sun setting off in the distance as it was now dusk. I spent most of the day transforming into a vampire. I could still feel my body aching from the transformation I took on after an impact of a car crashing into me. A vampire had saved me last night. I let out a small moan as my fangs exposed and hunger struck me. I looked over at the sleeping vampire next to me and visualized him telling me his name, Silas Rosario. I could imagine him ordering off his phone for maids to bring us a bottle of blood. My eyes flickered to the straight jacket I had once been in as a human. I slipped my hands into my maker's pocket and pulled out his phone, using his thumb to unlock it. I scanned my fingers over the keyboard, telling a maid we'd need two bottles of blood. I sat his phone on his chest then stood up, my head stinging. I let out a small hiss as knowledge flowed through me at once of where I was, Silas telling me everything about the place, who he was, and most importantly that I was his fledgling and how honest I would have to be with him. I laid back as I imagined meeting his brothers, the other fledglings that have grown into fine young vampires, and the two little twins Everest gave birth to. I closed my eyes slowly, taking in a deep breath as my knew knowledge started to rest in my memories before the events could even happen. I already knew every crook and cranny of the castle without lifting my finger. There was werewolves in the maze, their scent coming on strong for me as if I was standing in their pack house with them. I opened my eyes, seeing I was still resting with Silas. I slipped out of bed before he could and made my way over to the bathroom, stepping inside. I looked towards the closet and instantly knew there was clothes that were inside that could fit me. The maids had placed them in there while I was turning.

I cut the sink water on and rubbed my face down with the cold water, looking at my features in the mirror. I glanced over my joker like green hair that curled and was pushed back, just reaching my jaw length if left alone. My eyes shinned a golden red. I had a strong jaw for an immortal sixteen year old. I could cut off as eighteen easily though. I tilted my head to the side, looking for any marks on my neck. My skin was clear. The scars, cuts, and wounds were all healed. I stripped out of my white jump suit from the asylum and cut the shower on. I turned the sink off and stared into my eyes for a few minutes in the mirror. I exposed my fangs, checking out their length before flickering my eyes to the tooth brush and tooth paste laid out on the counter neatly for me. I picked it up and started to brush my teeth, waiting for the water in the shower to warm up. When I finished with my teeth I rinsed my mouth and brush off, setting it to the side. I slipped out of my white boxers and took my clothes from the asylum and threw them straight into the trash can. I'll never put on another pair of those.

I stepped into the shower, relaxing as the water rushed over my skin and soothed it. I rubbed the delicious smelling axe Apollo soap onto my body, taking it slow to admire every curve of my tall and slenderness. When I finished I took my time with my hair, placing a type of gel in it first before shampooing and rinsing. I made sure to be very delicate at washing my hair, not wanting to loose any dye. The gel would help hold the color in. Green was a hard color to get to stick to your hair. You had to be extra careful in the shower. You might step in with green hair and walk out with bleach blonde. When I had my hair washed and scalp massaged, I cut the water off and took a towel off of a waiting rack by the shower curtain and wrapped it around my body.

That demon will never be able to catch my death if I can see it coming and prevent it from happening. I'll have to respect Silas for the precious gift he bestowed upon me. "What a cruel world," I chuckled. "To a starving demon." Silas had awoken my ability to know everything the night he turned me. I can see the past, presence, and future, and even more. I can see other dimensions just on the edge of my imagination. I was a new person now. Not the same human that suffered only hours before.

I stepped into the closet and ran my fingers against the different outfits I could choose from, enjoying the textures. I decided to put on boxers, dress pants that weren't baggy and made my legs show off in the slender department. I put on a white dress shirt then one of the red silky vests. I put on a matching bow tie and slipped into black dress shoes. I'll make sure to look like a presentable fledgling for Silas, a vampire king. I stepped out into my bedroom and glanced around before looking directly at him. Two maids had brought us a couple of bottles of blood while I was enjoying the soap upon my body. I gave a bright smile to Silas.

"Good evening," I purred with delight. He opened his eyes slowly, the beautiful blue shocking me even though I knew they would be a sky blue. He purred in amusement as he saw me then sat up.

"Hello," he purred to me, his voice silky and sweet and warm sounding compared to the demon's velvet voice. He ran a hand through his silvery hair then glanced towards the nightstand in faint surprise, not having expected blood to be laying out for us. "Was it Everest?" He asked himself softly in confusion but then looked towards me. "Are you hungry?"

"No it wasn't Everest. I used your phone," I explained before walking over to one of the bottles of blood and opened it. I started to suck it down, moaning at the taste. It was better than I expected. He frowned slightly and watched me.

"You used my phone? How did you... my thumb huh?" He looked at his hand then sighed, laying back in the bed. "You're a strange fledgling. I haven't had one ever steal my phone then order blood off it and go take care of themselves the way you've done. It's like you don't even need me to show you things," he sighed out and played with his hair, curling it around his fingers.

"No, I don't. I'm capable of doing this on my own, but your company is nice." I told him and sat down on the bed and purred towards him. "I've been blessed. I can see the past, presence, and future. Thank you." I smiled softly. "That demon will never have my soul." He frowned a little and looked towards me.

"Well that's depressing," he mumbled. "My own fledgling doesn't need me."

"I could fake being needy if that's what you want." I gave him a small smile. He sighed to me.

"No, it's fine.... I'm just the guy who hit you with his car," he said then grabbed his bottle, starting to drink from it. "I have a lot of work to do as king anyways... and I have another fledgling as well around here somewhere. I'll still watch you, but I guess I won't have to really teach you anything. You're welcome to stay here."

"Well of course I'm going to stay here. Without you I have nothing." I smiled sweetly. "I'll be useful to you."

"I'm not after you being useful," he told me and sighed. "Don't worry too much." He purred at me then ruffled my hair. "I guess it's alright if you already know everything. You're still my fledgling."

"Yeah, I'm still your fledgling. By the way, you really need to get light on your strict rules. No biting.... that's unfair." He frowned a little at me.

"It's not unfair. You ask for permission first. It seems decent enough," he told me and then took another sip of his blood. "Besides, there is a cheap supply of blood out there now. It's easier to be fed nowadays."

"Yeah if you like drinking out of glass instead of warm skin...." I mumbled. "So, you gonna introduce me to all of your brothers and sister?"

"Well... soon," Silas told me and then finished his blood off, setting it aside. "Do you have any questions? Any at all?" He frowned. "Do you know everything... like biting, rules, mates, fate, and whatnot? Powers?"

"Oh yeah," I told him and nodded. "I've heard it all by now." I rubbed my temples. "Especially getting powers loud and clear." He sighed and then got to his feet.

"Well... if you ever do get any questions, don't be afraid to tell me- Oh, and you obviously know that you must absolutely tell me everything, right?" He smirked at me then. "With you being able to see everything, I expect you to communicate with me the simple things like you need food or you want something or your thoughts. We have to have an open relationship between each other, no secrets from you."

"Well that'll be hard but I'll try to keep an open mind to tell you everything," I smirked. He nodded then and started for the door.

"Good, I'm going to go get dressed. Stay in here," he told me firmly, looking at me over his shoulder before he left.

"What? Seriously?" I asked and frowned. I crossed my arms and sat down on the foot of my bed. He left his fledgling to go put clothes on? He came back after a few minutes, dressed in a white button up long sleeve dress shirt that he left unbuttoned at the top and a pair of black skinny jeans.

"Alright~ Let's go," he told me and smiled. "I'll adjust to you knowing most everything somehow," he told me with a hopeful look in his eyes. "Just because you know everything doesn't mean that we can't have a close fledgling maker relationship."

"Of course," I purred. "Let's go." I started out the room and looked at the dimmed halls with shadows lurking. He followed me out and shut the door, watching me then put his hands in his pockets with a small sigh as he started to walk down the hall. I frowned and waited for him to get ahead of me so I wouldn't show off on knowing where I was going. He glanced back at me and laughed.

"Look, you don't have to pretend Laurence. I need to learn to deal with it," he told me and waved me over. "Don't hold back because I whined." I laughed and linked arms with him.

"Sorry but I think I need you this time." I smiled sweetly to him.

"Need me?" He laughed a little and shook his head.

"Yeah, to not look so sad." I pinched his cheek. He gave me a playful growl and then exposed his fangs at me. I exposed mine and giggled. He watched me curiously then stopped us.

"You know... if you know everything, you should know when you're going to meet the love of your life? Are you excited or are you not into gooey love relationships?" He teased me then started to walk us again, unsharpening his fangs. I frowned as I thought it over.

"You know... It's cloudy." I told him softly.

"Cloudy?" He asked and frowned. "So it's not all seeing?"

"Guess not," I told him and shrugged. "Or maybe I'm just not trying yet, maybe it hasn't came to me yet. Everything is a lot to take in." I followed after him with a small hum.

"Hmm... makes sense," he told me and then patted my arm that was linked through his. "I hope Charles doesn't get upset about you being another one of my fledglings."

"Oh I can't wait to meet Charles," I purred.

"He's fun," he hummed out and then pulled me into the nightroom and sat me down on the couch. He pulled out his phone and walked away, starting to text his siblings and some others to meet us down here. I waited patiently with excitement. He put his phone up then looked towards me before he walked over and sat down beside me quietly.

"What about you?" I asked him and purred. "Any mates?" He glanced at me then shook his head.

"No... not any current ones," he told me and looked at his nails. "I haven't been fortunate to meet my true mate... not that I probably ever will... and I'm too busy to search for a queen. I have a couple of ex's. I'm not really looking for love anymore anyways. I'm too busy to go out of my way to find love." I nodded and looked directly at the door, waiting for his family to show. His brother Lyle and Milo entered through them first. Milo glanced towards me and then looked at my hair and then at me. He gave me a huge smile and looked towards Silas before he bounced up.

"Hi," he said sweetly. He smelled amazing... like a vampire but with the scent of human mixed in it, the concoction of a fledgling.

"Milo," I purred. "My name is Laurence." I reached out to shake his hand. I thought about capturing his hand and dragging me to him, I could practically taste his blood in my mouth. He tilted his head then smiled, taking my hand.

"Silas must've told you my name, huh? I doubt you read my books," he hummed out and shook my hand. "It's nice to meet you Laurence," he said innocently.

"I'm actually quite familiar with your works Milo Tomas Young.... and I can't wait for the next one. The title is going to be breath taking." I told him with amusement. He blushed and then went to take his hand back, pulling it away from me.

"I'm... not sure what you mean... but okay," he whispered then gave me a nervous smile before he ran back to Lyle where it was safe. Lyle gave a small smile and looked at Silas.

"How was the meeting last night?" Lyle asked, totally putting me off. Silas frowned and looked at Lyle like he just remembered something then stood up.

"Two letters: K... V," he said and crossed his arms. Lyle's face went pale then as he looked into Silas's eyes. "Uh huh, the council is very confused brother."

"Oh hell," Lyle whispered.

"You're going to tell me everything tonight after I get Laurence introduced to everyone, so if you have plans, cancel them because we're going to the study," Silas told him firmly.

"Milo, we're going to have to watch Titanic later...." Lyle whispered to him. Milo frowned but nodded.

"Okay.... I'll watch something else tonight without you then in our room," he mumbled and kissed Lyle's cheek. Lyle sat down quickly on one of the couches, pulling Milo with him. Milo giggled happily and curled up to him.

"KIDS! Don't go running down the hall like- Chance! Stop biting your sister!" I heard Everest shouting. "You can't gnaw on her like a chew toy!" Silas laughed a little and watched the door in amusement.

"MOMMY HE'S BITING ME! MAKE CHANCE STOP! CHANCE YOU LOSER!" I heard Nora yelling.

"BOTH OF YOU!" Everest screamed, sounding stressed. "Neal! Help me separate the twins! Get Chance!"

"AHHHH!" Chance shrieked and I heard hurried pitter patters as the little Chance tried to escape.

"Why're you making your mother and sister's life hell?" I heard Neal ask and imagined him scooping up his son off his feet and holding onto him. "Behave," he growled firmly.

"But daddy!" Chance whined and then I imagined him nibbling on his father's ear playfully. I heard a growl erupt from Chance.

"Are you questioning your father?" Neal asked. "I'm your father! You'll respect me and the ladies. That counts your sister and your mother. I'll spank you," he threatened.

"Daddy," Chance whined again then started to cry. "It's not my fault I want to hunt!"

"Don't go hunting your sister," Neal warned.

"Yeah," Nora giggled. "No hunting me."

"Daddy~ Take me hunting," Chance said pleadingly then growled playfully. "I'll get a rwabbit!"

"No way, you're going to stay in the castle. You're not old enough for your first hunt."

"I wanna go outside!" Chance growled, trying to sound fierce. "Outside! Outside! Outside! Outside!" He chanted as the door opened and Everest walked in, looking exhausted as she held her head and little Nora's hand.

"No!" Neal said strictly as he walked in with Chance in his hands "Now quit asking or I won't let you until you're fifty." Chance squirmed, then exposed little white fangs as his eyes turned a golden color and he growled like a dog. Neal dropped him out of anger. Chance yelped as he hit the floor then started to cry, crawling over to his father's feet then hugged his legs tightly, clinging to him. "No, no, no, no, and no! You're staying inside and in our sights." Neal told him. Chance sniffled and nodded.

"Daddy," he whined, looking up at Neal as he reached up for him in the universal sign that kids make when they want to be held- balling and unballing up their hands repeatedly. He gave his dad a longing look, tears running down his cheeks. Everest looked over and smiled a little, a loving look in her eyes as she watched the two of them closely. Neal picked his son back up and kissed his head, calming down. Nora ran up to Silas and giggled.

"Uncle Silas, guess what number I'm thinking of!" She told him and crawled up into his lap. Silas purred in amusement and started to play with her hair.

"Eight?" He asked and laughed, braiding her hair.

"No. It was ten. You lost!" Nora told him. Esther walked in and smirked as she saw Everest, running up to her and grabbing her hand. Everest smiled towards her and hugged her then walked over to another couch with her and sat down. Chance glanced at us all from a distance and snuggled up to his father, hiding his face into him as he smelled him. Dmitri walked in, holding a little boy's hand that looked about ten- Toma. Toma's hair was as dark as his scales in dragon form. His eyes were a bright pink and shinned around on us as he gave Dmitri's hand a squeeze as he noticed me.

"Enemy," Toma hissed. "There's a new person." He halted in his steps quickly. "We're going upstairs." Dmitri looked at him in amusement then pulled him a little closer by his hands.

"Don't worry. You'll be fine," Dmitri purred to him. "We're going to meet this new person though."

"Only if I get fish later," Toma said. Dmitri laughed.

"I'll feed you sushi," he promised him then kissed the top of his head. "That's my sweet boy. You're growing up to be nicer than you used to be, little hellion."

"I want sushi now," Toma decided. Dmitri frowned then poked his head back out into the hall, asking a maid nearby to get Toma sushi then walked him over to a seat and sat the dragon down. Toma curled up and aimed his eyes towards Chance and Nora. Chance looked towards Toma and then jumped down from his father's arms quickly, racing up to Toma. Nora glanced at Toma with admiration in her eyes. Toma let out a small hiss towards Chance and turned into his dragon form and got on top of the back of the chair. His clothes fell down onto the seat. Toma was now a large Great Dane's size. Chance giggled and watched him with interest before he crawled up into the seat and went to pet Toma. Toma let out a hiss of distaste and fell off into the floor after backing up quickly.

"Dragon!" Chance said excitedly and went over the seat after Toma. Toma ran out from behind the chair and went straight for Dmitri, climbing up his body and trying to stay on his head. Dmitri groaned and then pulled him off quickly, holding the dragon in his arms.

"Big baby," he mumbled. "At least you stopped calling me treasure though."

"Treasure," Toma muttered. "There is a peasant trying to pet me."

"I'm not a peasant! That's a bird!" I heard Chance pipe up as he scrambled after Toma. "You're a bird! A scaley snakey bird!"

"I'm not a bird!" Toma roared and went to attack Chance. Chance screamed and ran away quickly, terrified looking. Dmitri held Toma back and quickly kissed the top of his head and purred in his ear to make Toma stop, trying to win his attention. Toma's attention was won over rather quickly as he purred back to Dmitri in amusement.

"That's my sweet little treasure hoarder," Dmitri purred then smirked. "You're kinda like my treasure too...."

"I'm not your treasure. I'm a higher being worshiped by millions and you're a simple coin of gold in my hoard now appreciate your role before I eat your friends and take you down to the real treasure hoard in the basement and never let you leave it." Dmitri frowned at him.

"You wouldn't," he said quickly.

"I heard crystals are sparkly.... I wouldn't mind ripping some out of a few chests around here to keep to myself."

"You can't have those," Dmitri said firmly. "Besides... you probably will leave me when you're older, so there'd be no point."

"You're coming with me if I decide to leave here to look for an ideal mate. Because you're my treasure and you have to be watched carefully. Besides, I might not have to go far to find one."

"You will forget about me when you find a mate," Dmitri promised him. "Your mate will become your new treasure and it'll be more precious to you than I am."

"Then you'll enjoy getting rid of me," Toma muttered and looked away. He lost interest in Dmitri quickly. Dmitri gave him a sad look then held him closer.

"I wouldn't be happy to lose you," he mumbled then kissed his head before he sat him down. "You mean a lot to me.... You're one of the best things that has ever happened to me Toma. I dread you finding your mate."

"Good thing I'm not going to be looking for one for a while," Toma giggled. Dmitri looked a little happier and he sat down right next to Toma with an adoring look, rubbing him under his chin.

"I love you Toma~ I'm glad I'm your treasure and not another dragon's."

"You chose me," Toma mumbled.

"No, it was the other way around," Dmitri mumbled. "You liked me so much you used to scratch against your egg when I held you and you'd act like you wanted to hatch early from your excitement."

"That's normal," Toma told him. Dmitri frowned then.

"Really? I thought it was because you liked me," he whispered then pouted, pulling his hand back. "You only like me because you saw me first, huh?"

"No," Toma grumbled. Dmitri sighed and then rubbed between his wings.

"Alright," he whispered. He watched Toma closely then smiled and went back to rubbing under his chin with a playful look. "I better be your favorite then or else I might have to raise another dragon," he teased him.

"NO!" Toma shouted. "I'M THE ONLY DRAGON." Dmitri started to laugh then.

"Only?" He purred at him then pulled Toma into his lap. "Would you really get that upset if I raised another hatchling?" He teased, looking amused at Toma's reaction.

"Don't you dare try to raise another one of my species. I'll eat him like I eat fish and I won't think twice about what I just ate." Toma warned.

"He means business," I told Dmitri. Dmitri looked towards me and frowned then at Toma.

"Really?" He asked softly, giving Toma a slightly worried but mostly loving look. He really did adore Toma, but he caved a lot when it came to Toma's wants. "You'd eat a hatchling if I tried to raise another?" He rubbed his head, scratching under his chin and his jaw.

"I'll never let another dragon take you from me," Toma hissed. "It's a disgrace to let your precious items be stolen so easily by another possessive thief." Toma laid down on Dmitri's lap. "It's not looked kindly upon to let peasants touch you either." He growled towards Chance. "So don't let that filth touch me unless you want to be rubbing fresh oils on my scales, treasure." Dmitri purred and tackled Toma into a hug, nuzzling his head against him.

"Mkay~" He said cutely, looking extremely happy. "I love you Toma~"

"I love you, treasure." Toma let out a pleased purr. Hopefully he won't always think of others lower than him. Especially since Silas could throw him out. Dmitri curled up with him, holding him close as he purred back to him and rubbed his head against Toma's dark scales, a small moan escaping his lips from the scratching of the scales against his soft skin. He purred and squeezed Toma into a hug, laughing as he laid his head against his back. Silas watched them and looked a little tense, eyeing Toma down like he was thinking hard about him.

"Don't be so rough," I whispered to Silas. "He's just a young dragon. He'll grow to like others in this castle," I promised.

"He better not burn us all to crisps trying to keep little children from touching him and keeping his treasures safe," Silas growled a little. "Honestly... Dmitri shouldn't let Toma get away with calling him treasure like that. He's too dependent on Toma's approval and love. He'd do better with a cat or something." Dmitri glanced at Silas and frowned, curling up closer to Toma.

"Don't listen to him Toma," he told him then purred at his dragon as he started to tell him a story softly. The door opened and Pierre walked in with Charles, Silas's other fledgling. Silas's eyes lit up as they landed on Charles and he purred. I could tell he was extremely close to his other fledgling, probably one of the closest people to him at this point in his life. He had saved Charles from death and raised him, and Charles's clinginess in the beginning only brought them closer as maker and fledgling.

"Charles~" He purred out happily, sitting up more as he reached for Charles. "How are you? You've been feeding well, right? Are you hungry? I can get you something." Charles gave a huge smile as he looked towards Silas.

"Yeah, I'm a little hungry." He was as honest as he was told to be with Silas. "You don't have to get me something though, I'm headed to the kitchen when we finish-" His eyes drifted as he caught my smell. He eyed me down in shock and dropped his jaw slightly."You didn't...." Charles shook his head quickly. Silas looked a little guilty then.

"I hit him with my car," he admitted and blushed. "I'm sorry Charles, but I couldn't let him die on the streets! He doesn't really need me either.... He already knows everything. He can see the past, present, and future, so he doesn't need me to teach him anything. You're not replaced."

"I was too replaced!" Charles shouted. I held back a laugh as I could practically taste his jealousy.

"No way! I promise you're not replaced," Silas promised him, giving him a pleading look. "It's not even like he's my fledgling. He doesn't need me at all! You need me though, and I need you as my fledgling!" He got to his feet and walked over, giving Charles a hug. "He didn't even let me order him blood!"

"That's so unfair he's so much cooler than I am," Charles whimpered. "Why'd you have to hit him with your car? Why didn't you dodge him!"

"It's a good thing he didn't dodge me," I muttered.

"I tried to dodge him, but he ran into the road so suddenly! Besides, don't be so upset! I'd much rather have a fledgling that needs me," he mumbled and gave Charles a squeeze. "You saved my life too. Don't forget that. I could never replace you even if I tried. You're too important to me Charles."

"Choosing him so quickly over me?" I teased. "I still need you. I might want you to try being a maker sometime to see what it'll feel like learning from you."

"Can we get rid of him?" Charles whispered. Silas shook his head no.

"No, he'll leave when he wants," Silas told him. "I'm not going to force him out into the streets. I hit him with my car then turned him to keep the guilt from getting to me." He completely ignored what I said as he rubbed Charles's cheek comfortingly. Well it's good to know I had him for a few minutes before Charles came storming in. I tilted my head back against the couch.

"What if we lock him away?" Charles asked.

"No, we can't do that either. He's still another one of my fledglings... even if he doesn't need me anymore," he told Charles softly. "Don't be so upset. It'll be fine. I promise. I doubt you have anything to worry about except for me becoming brain dead over my work," he joked.

"Fine," Charles mumbled and looked me over. "If I can't throw him out I might as well get along with him." His eyes lingered over my body. "I hope you're happy."

"It's not his fault," Silas told him then sighed, ruffling his hair before he nudged him to Pierre who eagerly pulled Charles into a loving hug. Silas smirked and then looked towards me. "Laurence, come introduce yourself to your brother."

"I rather keep my distance," I told him. Charles buried his face against Pierre. Silas frowned and walked over to me.

"What's the matter? You were wanting to meet them earlier," he whispered then sat beside me, grabbing my hand. "Is it because I told him that you don't need me? Or is it because Charles is worried that you're replacing him?"

"I'm more afraid he'll bite me as upset as he is right now. He'll get over it though," I whispered. "He's still taking in that he's no longer an only fledgling. He's got me now." Silas sighed and nodded.

"Well... I guess that makes sense," he whispered then patted my hand before he pulled his away from mine. "Do what you feel you need to," he told me then gave me a smile before he looked towards Charles with a happy smile. "Charles, I hope you won't be upset for too long."

"How can I not be upset so quickly?" Charles mumbled. "I just lost most of your attention to him now." Silas frowned a little and then rubbed his neck.

"I don't know about that. Like I said, he doesn't need me Charles. I don't have to teach him a thing, just make sure he obeys the rules and whatnot. He'll probably be wandering around the castle most of the time. I don't think he'll be hanging around me as much as you do," he told Charles softly.

"Pierre, let's go get a bottle of blood from the kitchen," Charles whispered in his ear. Pierre looked towards him worriedly then nodded.

"Okay," he told him then started to lead him out of the kitchen with a loving look. Everest watched Pierre and purred happily.

"He's certainly a great vampire.... I did great with him for the two years he was my fledgling," he whispered and then laughed. Silas glanced at Everest then at the door longingly as he watched his other fledgling leave. He pouted then looked towards me with a frown. I frowned back at him. Why's he giving me that look? I'm innocent. He sighed and got to his feet.

"Well... I think that's everyone," he told me and smiled. "I have work to do, so explore however you want. Don't leave the castle though." He looked towards Lyle then and narrowed his eyes. "Lyle, come along," he told him and walked towards the door.

"Man," Lyle whined as he followed after his brother. "This is going to be a long work session."

"You bet," he told him then grabbed his hand, tugging him out. He quickly poked his head back in and looked at me. "Laurence, if you want something, come let me know. You know where the study is obviously," he purred then left quickly. Milo pouted and shrunk into the couch where he had been sitting with Lyle. I looked towards Milo and gave him a smile.

"Let's watch something together," I suggested. I didn't want to get left alone so quickly. That demon is lurking around here somewhere. He looked towards me and then blushed.

"O-okay," he whispered then got to his feet and walked over to the shelves, starting to pick out a movie for us. Dmitri watched him curiously before he closed his eyes, starting to take a nap on Toma.

Silas's POV:

Lyle shut the door after I walked into the study and sat down in front of the desk and crossed his legs. I watched him closely then sat down behind the desk and leaned forward. "Do you know KV?" I asked first. It's so weird.... They look exactly alike. That has to be a brother of his from whatever family he came from- obviously the Void family.

"Yeah," Lyle whispered. "The Void family was where I was stolen from." He admitted to me and looked away. "Kingsley is the youngest son." I watched him then relaxed. So.. it's true....

"Lyle, you could've told me," I purred to him. "You're still my brother even if KV is your brother too. I'll resolve this with the council and come up with something to tell them. I won't let them question you too much about your past family because this is your family now. We grew up together here and both worked together to earn father's approval. We both mourned over our parents together too. I'm not mad that you have another brother- that you have found out where exactly you came from. I think it's great that you know, but I wish you had told me."

"I told you part and I didn't feel it necessary to tell you about KV." Lyle shrugged. "I'm surprised you found out so soon. Looks like it's a good thing I gave you the crown so that I wouldn't be frowned upon by the council. I'm sorry I kept it from you but he was my secret I wanted to keep for longer." I sighed and rubbed my head, watching him.

"I would've liked to have known as your brother, not as the king," I whispered then looked at the papers on my desk. "So... I think we'll have to throw a ball for KV soon to welcome him to the council. It might help calm them down if they have something to entertain them. It might make them forget about poking and prodding at the two of you... or I could just ask Aurelio to cast a spell on them to make them forget to do so."

"Aurelio probably has already, knowing them." Lyle sighed and looked towards me. "It's none of their business anyways. They know about the cradle robbers. They could assume whatever they like for all I care as long as they don't give us trouble." I watched him then nodded.

"Well, if you're not worried about it Lyle," I told him then smiled. "So, how are you and Milo?" I asked politely.

"He's getting closer to his five years....." Lyle whispered. "I'm very proud of the progress he made and I can't wait to celebrate his fifth death day or when he decides to be a maker himself one day." I nodded and smiled.

"That will be fun.... You know, you've been together for about four years now. You haven't done much with him as a couple except take him on trips with you to KV's and a few dates here and there. You should take him somewhere for a vacation or something... especially if you're wanting to keep him as your boyfriend. He still smells like a virgin," I teased him and laughed. "You'd think that now that you haven't been king in so long, you'd have done more with him. You could go to the Bahamas... Hawaii... France... England... or even Japan if you wanted. You know none of us would mind it as long as you didn't run away forever," I purred to him and leaned forward a little more. "Take advantage of this Lyle. You're free to do as you please with your four year old fledgling boyfriend."

"I'm sure he would like to see the world, we might plan a trip together then. Besides, it's none of your business what we're doing sexually Silas. You have loads to talk, you're not getting any action either." I laughed and shook my head at him.

"Well, it's just concern is all," I purred to him and smirked. "You know I don't have time to entertain the idea of a love life. I'm still getting everything ironed out for a smooth kingship." I stretched then and smiled. "I guess I will need a queen or a king to rule by my side eventually though.... I don't know. It seems like a lot to take on.... I've had bad luck with lovers," I told him then rubbed my head. "It might not be a good idea even in the future to look for a permanent lover."

"Stop being so negative," he chuckled out. "Your queen will come one day." I laughed and nodded.

"If you think so Lyle," I told him then leaned back in my seat. "It'll be fine.... Oh... there have been some werewolf disappearances. I think we should warn our pack. The council thinks something is out there snatching them up... possibly some new predator or another pack," I whispered.

"We should make sure to let Everest and Sylar know as well so they can tell their mates." Lyle gave a small frown as he rubbed his neck. "Those poor packs... sounds like rogues are forming.... You better go let the alpha know but he might already know." I nodded to him.

"Yeah, go tell Everest and Sylar for me, would you? Also... as a precaution, warn Everest to keep her children close to her at all times. We don't know what it is," I whispered and then picked up a letter on my desk. "I'll tell the alpha."

"I was going to," Lyle whispered and stood up. "I'll see you later brother." He left the study quickly to go let the others know. I watched him then stood up, pulling out my phone to call the alpha. It's going to be a long night... and I'm going to have to figure out what is going on with the disappearances now that I think about it....
