Jason's Murder Prevention Plan

After Monokuma left, everybody stayed silent, most were terrified of what just happened. Then, breaking the silence, Kyoko said:

"Makoto, can I talk to you for a second?" she asked and took Makoto to the corner. Originally, Jason wanted to talk to Makoto himself, to make him acknowledge the mistakes he made with Sayaka, but seeing Kyoko taking him to the side, he assumed she's already doing that.

"Well, I'm not going to stand here all day, so I'll be leaving..." Jason said and started to make his way to the elevator. Before the elevator closed, Aoi came running and managed to enter before the door closed.

They stood in silence on their way up, and when he walked towards the dorm rooms, Aoi followed him, still in silence. Only when he reached his room and was about to open the door, Aoi tugged on the back of his shirt, and said in a low tone:

"...I can't. I just can't treat something like this as a swimming competition..."

"Because it's not. It is still our lives that are on the line here. I never said that you should treat it as a swimming competition, but I said that you should have the same mindset as when you participate in a swimming competition"

"Then what am I supposed to do?... I'm scared" Aoi said, and tears started to flow down on her cheeks

"And it's perfectly fine that you are. However, you can't let fear take control of you. Because if you do, you're letting the bear win, and we can't let the one who did this to us win, can we?"

"...You're right. I know you're right but... I just don't know how to do it..."

"...Then, what do you say I'll help you with it? I'll train you to be able to control your emotions"

"You'll really do it for me?"

"As I said before, I'll help you as long as you ask for it. I alone can't get out of here. We have to cooperate so we can leave this place, and if I need to teach you how to control your emotions so you won't fall into despair, then I'll do it"

"Thank you..." Aoi said, and laid her body on him. Jason just did what he always did when one of his little sisters were sad. He patted her head.

They stayed like this for a minute, before Aoi moved back, a small blush on her cheeks as she said:

"Thank you, Harris-Kun. I don't know what I would've done if you weren't here"

"No problem. Go and get some rest, and tomorrow we'll talk about how I'll teach you to control your emotions" Jason said, and they each went to their respective rooms.

After an hour, he went to the dining room, to get something to eat, and was surprised to see most of the students there. The only one that wasn't there was Makoto. The atmosphere was still gloomy. Seeing that, Jason simply walked into the kitchen, to prepare a simple meal for him. When he finished and came back to the dining room and sat at one of the tables, Makoto entered the dining room.

Jason just stayed quiet, as they started to talk about the fact that the body of Sayaka isn't in the room anymore, and the whole room was cleaned by the mastermind. Then, Byakuya started to talk about how working together is impossible, and that's when Jason intervened:

"You're right, but you're also wrong. I agree that what we have done until now wouldn't work, but I disagree that each one will be by himself. It doesn't matter how strong and influential the mastermind is, everyone has a weakness, and eventually, he'll expose his.

Until then, we'll have to change the way things are going here, or else, we'll have to face another murder"

"Then, what are you suggesting?"

"First of all, we can't allow anyone to sleep alone anymore, as we've witnessed the consequences of it today. I suggest that the boys will sleep in the same dorm room, and the girls will sleep together in a different dorm room. This will at least prevent a murder among the same gender. No one will murder anyone when the others are sleeping next to them, and if someone tries to kill everyone, it's obvious who the culprit is.

Next, we will sleep with the door locked, and only one person would have the key, so no one will be able to go out during the night, except for the person with the key, which will be chosen by all of us, as the one who we trust the most. There will be one person for each gender. That will prevent murder among different genders since the others won't be able to leave the room, and the one with the key won't do it since it will be obvious it's them, as they're the only ones who can come out of the room.

I also suggest we'll do night shifts, to prevent the theft of the keys. Two people each shift, to prevent from the one who is doing the shift from stealing the key.

For now, I don't think that we should do any changes during the day, as I don't think someone will be stupid enough to commit a murder when anyone can see them do it. If the need will arise, then maybe we'll make changes during the day as well.

I suggest that everyone will go to sleep now, and we'll make the decision tomorrow. I believe that everyone needs some rest, to take in what we have witnessed today"

"He's right. We all should get some rest, and we'll get to a decision tomorrow!" Kiyotaka said, and everyone went to their rooms.

Jason was on his way to his room when he was stopped by Makoto. The teen looked nervous and hesitant, but he resolved himself and said:

"Harris-Kun, I'm sorry I blamed you for the murder. I was still shaken from what I heard about Maizono-San, and I took my frustration out on you"

"Don't worry about it. You're not a professional detective. No one expects you to be flawless. You just followed what seemed to you as a lead, and you simply got it wrong at that time. There is no reason to feel bad about it"

"...How are you doing it? How are you and Kirigiri-San are always so calm?"

"I've already been asked about it, and I'll give the same answer to you. It's not that I'm calm. It's just that I'm good at hiding my feelings, and never act upon them"

"Then, can you teach me how to do it? I want to help everyone, and I can't do it if I'm shaken from every little thing that happens here. I don't want to believe it, but I know that there is no way that Monokuma will just let us do whatever we want, and he will try to turn us against each other again"

"You too? Well, I don't mind helping you, but why don't you ask Kirigiri? You two seemed to work together pretty well during the trial"

"H-Huh!? W-Well, Kirigiri-San is just very hard to approach, a-and-" Makoto said, with a slight blush on his face, and Jason immediately understood and said:

"Stop it. I'll help you, so spare me of this little thing you have for her. Honestly, I can't believe you even considering it during a time like this"

"W-What are you talking about?" said a flustered Makoto

"Nothing. Just go to sleep" Jason said, and went to his room.

Well, I've finally decided on the pairing I want to do!

The girl who will be paired with Jason will be Aoi!

I read your comments, and while I agree that Aoi isn't similar to Jason at all, people don't have to be similar to fall in love with each other! There is even a saying "opposites attract"!

So I'm sorry to everyone who wanted a different pairing, but this is what I choose, and this is what I think I'll be able to write the best, and could be interesting as well. If you're going to stop reading this story because of it, well, that is your problem.

Also, I'm sorry that it took me so long to post this chapter, I just have a lot of tests, since where I live, we have returned to study, so we have a lot of tests right now, and I'll do my best and continue to post chapters as fast as I can.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
