Ch5-My Starter
I hurriedly called professor Oak who was outside with his Arcanine. As the light gets intense Prof. and his Arcanine came inside to look at what the fuss was.
After an enormous lighting faded, there it was!!!!! a small, blue, canine Pokémon. It has black legs and torso, a blue tail, and a yellow collar. It was looking at me curiously with its red eyes and after a moment "Lu Rioluuu" it jumped on my shoulder and started nuzzling me with pure bliss.
I was dumbfounded for a moment and starting patting it. Then it looked at Arcanine as if knowing who he is and started to talk with him "Rio Rio Lu Riolu", thinking I should give them some space me and professor went inside the lab.
" Looking at your unsurprised reaction, I think you know what that Pokemon is right? not many people in Kanto recognize it, It's origins are from Sinnoh and most Riolu have a lot of endurance and stamina, they always look for opportunities to become strong. So you will have your hands full."
"I read about them in a book from your library professor, ahhh... I forgot to mention about my research, I completed it and am ready to submit to the league and do you mind being my sponsor so that higher-ups from league don't bother me much?"
"No problem Gunn, I also have a Pokedex ready for you but I think it will at least take two or three months for the league to approve your theory as they will cross-verify it on other Pokemon." He spaces out again for a moment like every time and " You can start your journey in four months so I don't think it will be a problem for you to wait for another three months, meanwhile, in this free time, you can get familiar with Riolu and get it ready for actual battles as it's still a baby."
"No problem professor I can do that and can I get my Pokedex a little early..." I put an awkward smile "like right now, I want to scan Riolu with and all the other Pokemon in here."
"Sure Gunn, but be careful and don't wander outside as you don't have a trainer ID still."
After searching for it, he hands me the Pokedex and a luxury ball and I run off outside. As I was walking towards the ranch for checking out Riolu, I see Ash and Gary waiting outside.
"I saw a new Pokemon outside, is that yours? it looks small and weak, can it at least survive a battle?" asks Gary arrogantly.
"No it looks cool and seems like a water or dark type," says Ash excitedly.
"Ya Gary it's mine. It just hatched and that's the reason it looks a bit small but it packs quite a punch, I think I will sweep your entire team with it when you become a trainer. As for your question Ash, it's a fighting type and it evolves into Steel/Fighting. It's called Riolu."
I know I can't sweep his entire team with just one pokemon but his arrogance irritates me every now and then. Hearing that Ash eyes literally turn into stars and Gary scoffs at my remark. Ignoring them I run towards Riolu with my Pokedex.
Far ahead, I see Riolu and Arcanine discussing something seriously. I think Arcanine is giving him some battle lessons, it's good for Riolu to get some tips from a champion who took on the league before. As Riolu felt that I was walking towards them, it joyfully came running towards me. I observed that all Riolu walk on their toes and never put their feet down completely, that shows that they are always alert and ready for anything thrown at them.
The moment he jumps toward me, I pet her and ask her to stay still. I open my Pokedex and scan Riolu

Riolu- The Emanation Pokemon
Type- Fighting
Ability- Prankster
Gender- Female
It's exceedingly energetic, with enough stamina to keep running all through the night. Taking it for walks can be a challenging experience. It can use waves called auras to gauge how others are feeling. These same waves can also tell this Pokémon about the state of the environment.
Moves- Quick attack, Endure, Feint
Egg moves - Bullet punch, Circle-throw

'Holy shit!!!!! it has bullet punch and on top of that, a circle throw.'
Bullet punch is a priority move and the opponent will switch in battles for Circle-throw. Prankster ability makes them have a priority on status moves. Need to absolutely teach it a defence lowering move like screech before I start my journey. I know it has a jolly nature, so it also has an upper hand over many other Pokemon when it comes to speed.
I put her on my shoulder and say "You're too strong for a baby my lovely girl."
she nuzzles me "Lulu Riolu"
'I think it's still too young to transmit its thoughts using aura.'
"How about coming with me on my journey to become the strongest, it will be quite a challenge to take on the league and you need to put hours of hard work, I need you to be my ace and our team's backbone. I will teach you everything in my arsenal to make you the strongest out there. What do you say?"
'I see an intense determination in those red eyes and it even leaked a bit of aura out, as expected of the Lucario line, they are passionate as hell once they put their mind on it.'
"Riolu lu Riolu"
"I see that you are a determined girl, stay with your father today and squeeze out as much as you can from him, he is considered one of the best Pokemon in all of Kanto and Jhoto. I am sure you can learn a lot from him before we move on with our journey."
She grins mischievously at what I said and goes to show her cunning side.
I always heard that Pokemon with prankster ability are cunning and not to mention a fox Pokemon having prankster ability. With her high stamina and enthusiasm, Arcanine is going to know what it takes to be a real father.
Days pass by waiting for my League approval. I trained Riolu with her known moves first and she is still getting used to egg moves, mainly bullet punch as she needs to channel steel energy. I made her meditate daily so that she can keep her calm side and get better at Aura manipulation, though I dint make much progress on it. Every day I made her interact with her father and sometimes mock brawl with him.
The best part of this three-month training was that Arcanine helped Riolu in channelling his fire energy. Guess what happened?? she learnt a frickin Blaze kick. It was actually a bit easy for her to channel fire energy as her father is a fire type. We also went for long jogs, which made me fall flat on the ground, Pokedex was not kidding about the running all through the night part. So I also did a lot of body training during this time.

Finally, 15 days before my journey starts league gave an approval on my theory. They sent me a trainer ID with authority to carry 8 Pokemon, ID also acted as an ATM card of sort and the main part is about the money they gave. They actually gave me 35,000 poke dollars. I thought it was too high but Prof.Oak told me that it was actually less when compared with the research work I provided, which can change the way training of Pokemon will be done from now. League did not release my work to the public yet, they want to make sure that it completely works, so they sent it to all the other leagues for verification.
I guess I am rich now and I bought potions, status healers, pokeballs, tent, utensils for cooking, Pokemon food and a spatial backpack made by Silph Co. I was actually surprised by the backpack and tried to figure out how the technology works but gave up after some time.
I still did not use my luxury ball on Riolu. I want to do that on the day we leave. Luxury ball helps in bonding with the Pokemon more handily as Riolu evolves with high friendship. Assuming that mega evolution needs a strong bond, for the start it would be better to do that without the help of a luxury ball. As my naming sense is bad, I was thinking about what to name her. Even in Sinnoh, female Riolu are so rare that you could count them on your two hands. Then, on the other side, it's better to not give any nicknames.
Oh!!!!!! I forgot to mention that she learnt how to use Screech from a Persian in the ranch, even I was surprised when that happened because I only mentioned it to her a month back about my thoughts on teaching her screech. Now all I need to do is wait for this 2 weeks to pass on and make her master bullet punch.

Gaining a fairy type makes it immune to dragon types in the mega form and the best part is that its the only Dragon/fairy that exists.
