Ch20- Champion quarrels
There was an old lady sitting at the table, we went up to her.
She saw us coming and said
"Oh my, what an adorable young couple. What can I do for...."
"We are not a couple" Cynthia shouted before the old lady finishes her sentence. She is got quite the temper, I remember her talking about her bad temper and going hard on the pokemon part in the anime. That's why she was patient with Paul in the anime, because she was a bit similar to him. She wanted Paul to change his perspective on pokemon, she said that she used to believe having strong pokemon is what makes a champion but she understood how important is the bond between pokemon as her journey went on.
The lady was startled because of her shout and then said
"Oh, I am sorry then, what can I do for you?"
"We will stay here for today and we want some help regarding the hatching of our eggs."
"Oh that's great, we have a lot of empty rooms, you can stay here but we will charge the bill accordingly, is that ok?"
"Yes that's okay mam, we will talk about the egg hatching part tomorrow. It's already late so we will take some rest."
Then the old lady handed us two separate keys and we went inside our respective rooms.

Ok..... that was a lot of information from her to process. There's a lot to think about, these clans are bad news and if they know I have an unusual Gible, I am pretty sure they will try to confiscate it.
'Gunn you don't need to be so good and respectable to everyone'
Threaten, I need to threaten them and make them fearful. That's the only way I can solve this issue. Cynthia might be a good-natured girl but the ones in her clan won't be. Let's talk about this tomorrow with her.

"Yo Cynthia, good morning."
"Good Morning Gunn." and she came closer and continued
"Yesterday, I forgot to ask you something, why is your egg so abnormally large? Never seen an egg that big."
"Oh its nothing, the Clefable elder blessed it. I am still not sure about the specifics, she told that its a gift and I should take good care of it."
"You sure are lucky, to see the elder is one thing but to have been given a blessing, I am really envious."
"It's not that special. And also, I wanted to ask you something. Can I?"
"Sure, go on"
"You told me that, you will speak with your clan right? if you do then are you also mentioning about the size of my Gible?"
"Unfortunately I have to, its really noticeable Gunn. If not now, when you sign a pact, they will know about it. It's better to mention it than hide it."
"Oh no, don't hide it but add some minor specifics, like how Prof.Oak and Elder Clefable will knock on their doors if they have any other motives."
Cynthia raised her eyebrows at my unusually calm threatening tone, she looked like she was impressed
"Oh my God, I really like guys like you. To threaten a clan with just one or two gym badges. I am really looking forward to our journey till the clan gives a reply. I always wanted to threaten or fight my clan for their monopoly and power-hungry attitude."
Suddenly, I could detect a champion aura around her. That grace and intimidation...oh I falling for her now. She continued speaking after the change in tone
"I don't have much power now but when I become the champion I will change most of the rules. I think I found a partner in crime for that, how about it. Will you help me?"
"Oh, anything for a beauty and I am the champion, you will be my sidekick."
"Stop that, why do always change from a cool looking guy to an arrogant pervert in a second."
"What...? I just stated the facts, and also why did you come to Kanto? why are you starting your journey so late?"
"I already started my journey and I have a badge from Sinnoh. My visit here is because of the mess caused in the last week. I came here to get familiar with Kanto and its way of training. I have around 21 months to train, not to say the league is a mixed one, so I will collect all the badges from Kanto, Jhoto and Hoenn. Then I will wreck every gym in Sinnoh to show my dominance. That will help me take control of the league easily after I become the champion."
"Look...who is the arrogant one here. Talking about being a champion and all."
"Then its decided. Let's see, if it's you or me." said Cynthia with her all-knowing attitude.
"Sure, let's see. Although it is pretty obvious on who will win it."
Hearing that, she just acted like she did not hear what I said. I really have a bad feeling that Tobias will be there for the competition. No one knows what his other four pokemon are, but what I have in my hands is 'TIME'. Cynthia said she came to Daycare because of an egg. So, what egg is she talking about?
"So which pokemon egg do you have? is it of Sinnoh origin?"
"Ya, it's a Gible. Five months back my grandmother gifted it to me. She is my starter."
'wtf'
"Then how come, you already have a gym badge?"
"Although I got my Gible's egg five months back, my Riolu hatched early and I also caught a Roselia. So Gible is still my starter even if it did not hatch as I got it first."
'what dumb reason is that, even though it sounds so wrong, it also sounds technically right.'
"I think it doesn't work that way, Cynthia. Starter is a living pokemon you start with not an egg."
She gave me a glare as if telling me to drop the topic and not argue about it.
"Egg is still a living thing and Gible will be my starter no matter what."
I raised my hands in defeat and told her
"Yes, princess. Whatever you say is astutely accurate and perfect."
"That's good, at least you know that you shouldn't argue with a girl."
"So what's the problem with your egg, five months is too long don't you think?"
"Actually no, the stronger the innate talent, the longer it will take to hatch. I can clearly say that the egg with you is been in that form for over six months. You can recognize the age of an egg looking at the patterns on it."
"See, clearly my pokemon are superior and I will be the champion," I smirk at her
"Stop...dont smirk like that, anyone's pokemon will be strong, if it's blessed by the Elder in Mt.Moon ok."
"Oh.....walk straight into Mt.Moon and get a blessing then."
She gets annoyed and says
"Ahhhhh...enough!!!!! I accept ok, your Gible is superior but my other pokemon will beat you easily."
As we were bickering, the old lady walked up to us and said
"I assume you guys are ready, I need to know the specifics of the egg so that I can give it best conditions to hatch."
we answer at the same time
"Ya, sure. No problem"
"Ya, sure. No problem"
we look at each other and then start laughing.
