I slowly opened my eyes to bright white light. I shielded my face as I slowly rose up to sit upright. I looked around and noticed the machinery that surrounded me, I soon realized I was in a hospital room. It all came rushing back to me like a storm. The gas, the girl, and the man with the creepy smile. When I thought of the man I winced in pain as my head started to hurt. My best friend Adam walked through the door and looked at me. Our eyes met neither of us looking away until I couldn't take it any longer and broke my gaze." I heard about everything that happened in the park. Are u ok?" Adam said in a concerned voice."Yeah, I'm good. Did any of the kids survive?" I said in the strongest voice I could muster up. Adam looked down at his feet and replied with a sorrowful tone "no not one kid survived. The authorities are looking into it as we speak they are questioning all the people that were at the park." "Tell the authorities that before I passed out I saw a man in all black who had a gas canister in his hand," I said quickly. A man walked into the room, he was dressed in a police uniform and was fully armed. The man had a stern look on his face and was pretty built. The man said in a deep commanding voice" That's good to know, thank you for the information Mr.Rodgers.My name is Officer Grey and if you couldn't tell by now I am the man in charge of leading the investigation of the gas attack." "How do you know my name?" I said skeptically. "I have been interrogating everyone that was at the park at the time you were just next on the list. So I want you to tell me everything you know."Officer Grey said. So I started to explain everything that happened between me leaving my house and passing out. I got so enveloped in my story that I forgot Adam and Grey were still there until Adam put his hand on my shoulder and told me I had started saying gibberish. I apologized and continued to finish my story."Thank you for all the information Mr.Rogers it will all be useful in the investigation that is all. I will be taking my leave now and get well soon Mr.Rogers."Grey said as he left the room. I looked at Adam and knew something was wrong. "What's wrong Adam?" I asked. "I think it would be better if the doctor told you," he said in a quiet voice. I started to get scared after he said that. What could he mean I think it would be better if the doctor told you. Is there something wrong with me?? The doctor I am assuming walked into the room. He was wearing a white coat like doctors usually do. He was bald and looked pretty old also he was like 5'1-5'2."Hello, Mr.Rodgers my name is Dr.Henry.I did an examination on your body and found that there was a trace of the gas that was involved in the park incident. Our belief is that you have survived this long because you haven't been in that much contact with the chemical and you are older so your immune system can handle this. But the gas is unknown to us so we don't have a cure for it currently but, thankfully isn't contagious. We are working our best and running tests after tests to find a cure but until then if we don't find a cure you will die. The gas is fighting your immune system its only a matter of time. Our estimate is you have 1 month to live. My deepest condolences."Dr.henry said as he proceeded to leave the room. All of a sudden I couldn't see straight everything was getting fuzzy. If it weren't for adam hitting me I would have collapsed again. There were 1000 things going on in my mind at the same time."I'm gonna die" I said with a terrified expression. Adam stayed quiet. For some reason, the rage that I had before I collapsed at the park came back for more. "If I am gonna die I will at least avenge all those kids if its the last thing I do I will kill the people responsible for this" I said full of rage. Adams's head shot up and looked me in the eyes. I saw tears had formed in his eye. "Don't come on man just enjoy the time you have left with me and your family don't speed it up." He pleaded. " "Adam I just thought of something, if those guys made the gas they must have made an antidote for it right. So if we can take them down we might actually be able to save my life." I said with hope. Adam was always the shy type so I didn't expect him to help me. "Your right, they will have an antidote so we have to get it for you," Adam said with a new fire in his eyes. I couldn't let adam help me it was too dangerous."No you are not helping me it is way too dangerous just leave it to me." I said. "You can't convince me otherwise. With me, you will have a better chance of winning.I will help you whether you like it or not."He said stubbornly. My jaw hung in shock. Here stood in front of me the boy who wouldn't hurt a fly telling me he wants to help me kill people. All I could say was "ok".We can't get the authorities involved in this. Those dimwitted baboons don't actually care about finding the killers. They just say they will for a good reputation. Then when they don't find them they blame it on the lack of funds for equipment." I said.Adam just nodded his head." We will discuss this later when you feel good enough to fight until then get some rest."Adam said.He was right about me needing rest I hadn't noticed over all the talking and my anger blinded me a bit but my whole body was aching and I had a huge headache." yeah yeah...bye see you tomorrow adam." I said laying back down and pulling the blanket over my body. "See ya."adam said as the door closed behind him. I closed my eyes ready for the nightmares that awaited me.
