I was in so much pain. Every part of my body screamed in agony. I could feel the ground shaking as the orc began made its way towards me. I couldn't move. I couldn't do anything.
"AHHHHH!"
A mans voice flooded my thoughts. I looked over towards the villagers. Almost everyone was dead. They were steadily cutting people down one by one.
"Those fucking animals. We didn't deserve this. We didn't deserve any of this."
The shaking stopped. The orc was standing over me looking down. He smirked. It seemed as if he had some form of intelligence, which I'd never heard of. He was rubbing it in my face that I couldn't do anything to save them.
I tried to stand. I fell. I tried again. I continued to try while this fowl minded bastard watched in glee.
I finally managed to gained enough strength to stay on my feet. I attempted to summon my sword back. Nothing. My dagger was still holstered to my hip.
"It's better than nothing." I unsheathed it and held it tight. My body was still weak, but it was enough for me to fight. The orc had quit smiling. For that matter, he wasn't even looking at me anymore. He was looking behind me. I turned to see what had caught his eye. Twenty Imperial soldiers plated in Silver rode towards us, swords and bows drawn. Only one wore Gold. Five arrows flew over my head and pierced the orcs eyes. He yelled in pain. The goblins and shaman were now making their way towards us to cut the soldiers off. Fifteen were swordsmen. Five were archers. The swordsmen dropped from their horses while the archers stayed put. They already had more arrows drawn and were aiming at the shaman. The goblins rushed the swordsmen. Only around fifty or so goblins remained. The number of shaman were even lower.
"NOW!" The men rushed the goblins and began the attack.
It was over in less than a minute. They were strong. The strength had once again left my body and I was back on the ground. The soldiers had began to help the remaining villagers while two came to help me. They were introduced first.
"My name is Kyle. Imperial soldier from the Empire. My rank is B Platinum. This here is Maddy. She's an IS too. She's the same rank as me."
She looked like she didn't want to be here. She probably didn't. I had always heard the the Imperial soldiers were all slaves to the Empire. It was my turn to introduce myself. I didn't trust the Empire. I never did. It was corrupt and full of liars and cheaters.
"My name is Zero. Just Zero. I'm an hunter. My rank is D Silver." I lied. I was actually a A level Platinum, but I didn't want to give any real information about myself.
"D Silver? Not bad. Most of us here are around the same rank. However the Gold plated Soldier, his rank is undetermined. His power was too strong to measure so they put him at X Platinum-" I cut him off mid sentence. "X PLATINUM?!"
With my current rate of growth on my power it would take at least another 3 years to even think of reaching that level. This world is full of strong people. I have to get stronger.
"Yes. XP. Hard to believe it. Most people of his power are treated as Gods and live in that fame. However, he's never asked for anything more than the essentials and work."
"What's his name?"
"Nobody knows. He just goes by his nickname; Reaper."
