Chapter 9 Escape Part 2

Loud foot steps could be heard through the long hallway.

Eric was walking at a slightly fast pase down the hallway. Every body else walking pass would gaze at him and wonder what was he in a hurry for, but when they saw his face they became even. Now that wasn't because he was handsome it was that his face carried a look of excitement.

"Why does he look so excited?" Did something interesting happen.

"Was he working on something and achieved a breakthrough?"

"No, wait I know him that's just Eric, he's Dr Gerath's assistant."

"Oh I thought it was something important, he must be rushing to his disposal duties so he can get praised by his master like a good doggy," said one of the researchers working on this floor.

Eric was used to the mocking by now, he may be called an assistant officially but he feels like a servant. Most of the time all he does is dispose of failed experiments and waste. When first got told that he would be the assistant to one of this facility's most valued Scientists, he was overjoyed the man was like a celebrity in the eyes of all the young researchers.

The man's theories on genetic makeup were truly mind-blowing. However when he started working for Dr Gerath he found himself doing odd jobs for him, like bringing him coffee, cleaning his equipment and the most annoying one was getting rid of the speciment.

Considering all that why did he seem so excited today. The reasons being he had an opportunity to observe true science at work. Professor Gerath had promised him a chance to watch him conduct a few tests.

"He said they made some progress with their formula, and had a living specimen." He said as he reached the room where the 'subject' was being held. He reach out his hand and turned the knob to open the door.

When he entered the room, he was greeted by the sight of a fully stocked lab. It was filled with verious different chemical, most of which he couldn't recognise.

"Hmmmm, I should ask Professor Gerath about what are the uses of these chemicals," said Eric curiously as he gazed at a test tube that contained some red coloured liquid.

"Well I can think about that later, first I need to move him," he said was he looked in the direction of a man laying on an operating table.

This was his main reason for coming here in the first place. The man on the bed was the only subject that managed to survive being injected with the titan formula. All the others either went insane or died within seconds of being injected.

"I wonder what kind of tests there going to run on him," Eric said curiously as leand forward to look at the 'subject'.

Eric leaned forward and released the restraints that bond the subject to the operating table, but as soon has he did a hand reached out and grabbed his neck.

He was completely shocked, "W-wha...!" but before he could finish scream, he was slammed to the ground.

He couldn't figure out what was happening, "I'm being chocked!" he thought. He tried to fight back but he couldn't, his body was losing energy could barely see let alone even move his fingers.

"I'm going to die aren't I" those were his last thoughts as the light faded from his eyes.
