Chapter 23: The Corrupt Druid Part 2

The guards in black slowly approached the terrifying demonic beast with their weapons held close to their chest, ready to attack at any moment.

Just as they were about to attack the bear a loud crashing sound spread though out the area.

Boom!!!

Everyone looked at the source of the sudden sound only to see a dust cloud covering a part of the forest. When the dust faded a large crater could be seen in the ground.

The Brown bear also stared at the crater intently if the creature had eyebrows it would cringe them. It could sense a strong energy fluctuation eminating from the crater.

The sound of footsteps entered everyone ears it came from the crater. The guards were not sure what was going on but used that moment the beast was distracted to attack.

They all charged at the creature their large and sharp daggers seem to gleam in the moonlights.

The Brown bear looked at humans approaching it and let out what sounded like a scoff, it waited for them to get closer to it before raising those sharp claws to slash at the insignificant humans.

When beast saw them reach close enough for it's liking the creature lifted it claws and attempted to rip through all of them with a single slash.

The beast's claws had already swung and was about to rip through its first targets torso when it was sudden enveloped by an intense pressure that made it's body feel heavy and it's movements to become sluggish even if it was for a brief moment.

That brief moment was more than enough for it's target to escape, all the other guards also retreated in a hurry.

The beast looked in the direction of the crater and let out an angry roar filled with intense killing intent, it eyes glowed a deeper red one filled with bloodlust.

Boom!!

A loud sound spread thought the area as something could be seen moving from the crater to the beast at speeds the untrained eye could not catch.

The Brown bear could make out the shadow of a human nearing it, the beast let out a angry growle before attacking the in coming enemy. But just as it's attack was about to land it was attacked by the very same pressure it experienced earlier.

Fields used his ability to throw off the the beasts aim, he swerved to the side and delivered a powerful punch into the beast's side; causing it to move back a couple of feet.

Fields furrowed his brows as looked at his fist , when his fist made contact with bear's fur it was like punching steel.

This was he first time fighingt this type of demonic beast but even he could tell its natural defence was no joke.

"This is not going to be an easy fight" Fields said as he turned to look back at the bear.

Fields charged towards the beast for a second time as it was still trying to get off the ground, he filled his fists with more magical energy than used in their previous confrontation.

Fields shot his right fist towards the bears skull but the bear fur suddenly took on a red hue.

Fields instincts told him to back away quickly, but he could not stop in mid movement.

The beast dug it's claws into the ground and opened it's large maws and let out a roar that created a powerful shock wave, that caused Fields to be pushed back slamming into a nearby tree.

The bear charged at Fields reaching him in less that a second, it opened it's large maws and aimed for his head.

Fields could not get away from the beast in time before it's large open maws descended oppon him, he could not escape so he chose the only viable alternative and that was to attempt defending the beasts attack.

Fields lifted his arm to defend against the attack, the bears razor sharp teeth bypassed his armer and dugg deep into his flesh.

Fields gritted his teeth attempting to endure pain surging from his arm, he could feel the bones in his arm starting to break.

Fields knew he could not keep this up for long or his arm would definitely break and fighting with one arm would severely lower his combat ability.

He had to think of a solution, his free hand reached behind his back and withdrew a dagger; he porred some of his magical energy into the blade causing the runes on it to light up, Fields flipped the dagger and slashed towards the beasts eyes creating a blue arc of light.

However before the dagger could reach the beast a green coloured vine suddenly rapped itself around his arm stopping the blades momentum.

Fields seemed surprised by the current it took him a while to understand what was going on, this whole time he believed he was simply fighting a Brown bear but that's not what his opponent was.

"HAHAHA!!!"

The Brown bear in front him released his arm and let out a loud laugh.

"You're a druid, aren't you" Fields stated "If I'm not wrong your a corrupt druid."

Corrupted druids were druids that abandoned there sworn oath to use their powers to protect the forest and instead used them for personal gain.
