Ace vs. Emperor, Part-One

Teiko Middle School Basketball Club's first-string was in a flux of activity. Members from second and third-string started to enter the first-string gym.

A piece of news spread throughout the club, and that made everyone rush to the first-string gym.

The shocking news that made everyone rush to the first-gym was an argument between the captain and ace of the first-string team.

The argument led to a one-on-one matchup.

A super high-profile scrimmage between two players of Generation Of Miracles.

On the court, Aomine and Akashi faced each other.

Aomine looked at Akashi, and because of the height difference, it seemed that Aomine was looking down at Akashi.

The blue-haired ace of the Generation Of Miracles drawled in a bored tone and a matching expression.

Aomine: "Akashi, I don't like you ordering me around.

The way you act is getting on my nerves, so how about you reel down that attitude of yours."

The redhead captain of Teiko and the emperor of Generation Of Miracles peered up at his teammate and spoke in an authoritative tone.

Akashi: "Daiki, I don't see anything wrong with my attitude.

I am absolute. Thus, I am always right.

My word is law in this club, and you will follow it without complaint."

Aomine's bored eyes opened up a little and scoffed at Akashi's statement.

Aomine: "You are absolute? Don't make me laugh at you, Akashi.

Just because I don't say it, it doesn't mean that I am not the strongest around here.

I can beat you anytime I want.

So, don't go out spouting corny lines."

Akashi's eyes turned cold as he glared cold, emotionless daggers at Aomine. He opened his mouth to speak in a flat tone.

Akashi: "To think, you who is subservient to me will raise your head to rebel against me.

It seems that I need to show you your place.

Come, I will show the difference between us. I will make it clear once and for all.

It is your bad luck, Daiki. I will have to use you as an example to show the rest of the people not to raise their against me."

Aomine smirked and replied.

Aomine: "Bring it on. I will use this as an opportunity to bring you down a peg or two."

The other three of the Generation Of Miracles and the sixth man of Teiko observed the situation from the sidelines.

Kuroko looked worried as he watched Aomine and Akashi exchanging words with each other.

Kuroko: "Shouldn't we stop them?"

Midorima answered Kuroko's inquiry with a shake of his head.

Midorima: "Us interfering won't do anything. Both of them are stubborn in their own ways. They won't back down after being challenged.

The only way out of this is they playing it out."

Murasakibara yawned and asked.

Murasakibara: "Who do you think will win?"

Midorima frowned and rebuked the purple-haired giant.

Midorima: "Murasakibara, if you want to yawn, cover your mouth."

Coming back to Murasakibara's question, Midorima gave it thought and answered.

Midorima: "I think Akashi would win. His ability to predict the future is an extremely dangerous threat."

Kise shook his head and gave his opinion.

Kise: "I think Aomine-cchi would win."

Midorima glanced at his blonde teammate and asked.

Midorima: "Why do you think so?"

Kise shrugged and responded.

Kise: "I don't have a reason. But, take it from the person who looses to him every single day, Aomine-cchi is strong.

He doesn't follow logical reasoning, between Akashi-cchi and Aomine-cchi, I would go with Aomine-cchi."

He turned to Murasakibara and Kuroko and asked.

Kise: "What about you two? Who do you think will win?"

Murasakibara and Kuroko spoke one after another.

Murasakibara: "Aka-chin."

Kuroko shook his head and answered.

Kuroko: "I don't know."

He truly had no idea who would come out on top.

Aomine was overwhelming on the court. In a one-on-one isolation matchup, he was the best on the team, and offensive menace.

Whereas Akashi had his Emperor-Eyes, and even though he wasn't an offensive player, his ability made both offense and defense obsolete.

It was then that a wheezing, worried Satsuki entered the gym and hurried towards the group. She reached the group and took a moment to catch her breath and then asked in a voice filled with worry.

Satsuki: "What is happening? I heard that Aomine-kun and Akashi-kun got into a fight?"

She turned towards the court and saw Aomine and Akashi moving towards the top of the key.

Kuroko eased Satsuki's worries by giving her a summary of the situation. Satsuki calmed down a little, but she still looked worried at the two who were about to start the game.

Kise leaned forward, turned to Satsuki, and questioned.

Kise: "Momo-cchi, who do you think will win between the two?"

For a moment, Satsuki forgot about her worries, and her analytical, managerial side took over. She looked at both of the participants, and the information about them in her mind came to the forefront.

Satsuki: "Aomine-kun doesn't possess the standard form of basketball, and he has gotten better at playing with his ever-changing movement style.

Aomine-kun is also an offensive player, with plenty of experience with isolation plays, and with his speed, agility, and dexterity, which is then followed by his formless shooting ability.

Crossover skills, erratic moves, irregular change of pace, changing direction at absurd rates, makes him an unstoppable scorer."

After she finished with the ace of the team, she started with the captain of the team.

Satsuki: "Akashi-kun possess with his frightening Emperor-Eyes, just the thought of a skilled player like him with the ability to see the future is terrifying.

Exemplary ball-handling skills built upon solid fundamentals allow him to dribble the ball in a comfortable yet deadly way.

Combine that with his eyes, and you get his Triple-Threat penetration defense and ankle-break dribble offense."

Triple Threat position was the most basic form in basketball as it gave a setup to all three options; drive, pass, and shoot. Almost any move a player attempts to make will start from that stance.

By using his Emperor-Eye, Akashi could read the opponent's movement and proceeds to intercept the ball before they can react.

The ankle-break dribble was Akashi's ultimate offense. A single ankle break would enter the highlight reel of the game, as it was a high-level technique, but Akashi could perform this technique without any difficulty.

Akashi had both his offense and defense covered.

Satsuki observed both of them and sighed.

Satsuki: "I don't know who will win."

All of the club members, including the remaining Miracles, could only wait and watch to find out the result.

But, the wait was short as the game between the two powerhouses of Teiko was about to begin.
