As the night came the southern base was still enjoying their first victory. Jérome however was looking after the wounded, as he had send a crow to the northern base requesting Maelith's help to keep fresh water flowing in, in order to treat the wounded.
Once arrived she immediately started to help.
While busy treating the wounded Jérome suddenly asked, "You know alot about magic right?" Maelith nodded, while holding out a bucket of clean water. "Can you tell me more about my magic." he asked. "Well... where to start" She answered.
"For so far I have seen your element is either "Light" an element completly based on healing everbody in area of effect curing anything physically, or you have the "Holy" element which is based on summoning and fusing with or enchanting said summon." she said.
"So if I have the "Light element" I can heal them?" Jérome asked eager to try.
"Yes but as a novice the wounds will not heal immediately, just focus your energy through the stone towards them" Maelith answered.
And so Jérome aimed his morningstar at one of his soldier, focussing as a ray of light came out the weapon it deflected back to Jérome's feet and right before his feet it took form of a cat.
"Guess your element is Holy instead of Light Jérome" Maelith said.
"I have not seen the use of the Holy element since the late Count Vaegir used it, but he eventually used it summoned big ferocious eagles" she said looking kind of jealous at Jérome.
As Jérome's focus returned to treating the wounded, the cat dissapeared.
Maelith stayed up all night helping out with the wounded, as dawn broke only then did she return to the nothern base.
That day Jérome kept summoning the cat just to improve his focus, while sometimes hugging it.
At high noon, a soldier barged into my office two war parties had sent multiple division to flank one another and were spotted at sensing distance.
I immediately gave the order to rally up the troops, while updating the other bases about the ongoing situation.
This time every base was on high alert with every part of the war getting close, we were getting sucked into it more and more.
Walking to the main room I could already sense at least seventy men.
Commanding all but one of my men to follow me, as the one left behind was tasked to ask to call for back up if things would get worse. Then we made our way towards the fight taking as much ground as possible.
As the enemies men were fighting each other still trying to outmanoeuvre one another, I decided to throw it on a suprise attack.
The left enemies were undead knights, as on the right a bunch of battlemages and druids.
As I halted my men I turned my head facing them shushing them. Silently I teleported behind one of the enemy soldiers who was guarding the rear of the left party, shushing him then grabbing him and teleporting back to my troops, giving the silent order to kill. Then I repeated this methode but then with a soldier from the right party.
Again with succes, two down sixtyeight to go.
When suddenly we were spotted.
Enemy divisions who were trying to out flank one another both send divisions to take us down in the fight.
About twenty from each side came towards us.
I ordered my troops in a spearhead formation with me at the front.
As the three parties clashed, it started out as a battle of the number of soldiers each party had. Clearly outmatched in numbers my soldiers quickly proved to be stronger then most druids, and undead knights, thus the biggest probleem being the battlemages.
These battlemages all had swords and shield enchanted with the elements of lighting, fire and wind, which gave them an advantage over the others.
Yet them and the druids who were there to assist them could not compare to our speed.
As I lunged to an enemy battlemage I used my void magic to go through him, as I did I turned around, now behind him I grabbed his head wanting to drag him into the ground with my void power I sensed another Battlemage aiming for me.
Jumping into the air while keeping my hand on the first battlemage his head and the spell already active, my focus changed and my hand slipped through his head now holding his brains.
Not know what or how I grabbed his brain and janked it out. With now brains in my hand and a mindless body in front of me I felt pretty drained. For some reason this move had also drained my stamina quite alot.
As the attacking battlemage now looked at me with fear, I knew I had to bluff my way out off this before any enemy would notice the impact the move had done to me.
"Ultimate Techinique: Brainjacker" I said with a Maniacally smile on my face.
"Are you next?" I asked, kicking the mindless body down.
The battlemage scream in fear attracting the attention of everyone, who now had their eyes on me while I still held the brains in my hand.
When suddenly the ground became to tremble
From the south a giant snakehead was coming closer. All the enemies now frozen in fear, watched as the snakehead closed in on our battle. I dropped the brains and rallied my men, split of from the battle and made sure there was some distance from the now enemies. Yet thing got worse as the snakehead got closer everybody could see that it was in fact a Chimera.
This one having the head of a snake, the body of a centipede and the tail of a scorpion.
As it opened its mouth it swallowed most of the screaming soldiers.
This beast was unbelievable, four meters big and at least twelve meter long.
Things were looking bad, some of us were just like me in less then ideal shape. This beast now glaring at us as he raises his tail.
Pointing the tail towards us it fired multiple shots of poison liquid.
The most capable men blocked it with there shield only to see the poison melt their shield away.
Yet giving the other soldiers the chance to blocked the second little barrage of poison liquid.
"Split up in two" I commanded. All the soldier obeyed my command yet randomly went left or right. As I lunged back a few times warping the closes weapon I could spot into my hand.
It was a broken sword, I threw it at the Chimera aiming at his nose.
He paried it with his fangs as he glared at me, I screamed, "Attack!!! aim at the feet, charge with everthing you have left!!!"
Everbody charged, and legs started falling as swords broke in the process.
The Chimera dug in the ground and in response I gave the command to split up covering as much ground as possible.
The whole battlefield was silent as I started to breathe harder.
Then suddenly I heared the sound of Galloping horses, as the Chimera showed its face, swallowing a soldier in the process.
As I looked at the Chimera a flash of light was fired towards the Chimera, the flash of light turned into a cat which scratched an eye of the Chimera.
I turned my face to see Jérome and a few of his men on horseback, he and his men halted right beside me.
"So whats the ongoing tactic, and how can we help?" he asked.
"Working on one as we speak" I answered.
"It seemingly does not come out of the ground completly anymore so surround and attack is my idea now, but I am open for suggestions." I continued.
"Okay but you are completly out of breath at least trade places with one of my men." Jérome pleaded, as I took place on a horse I order my troops to step back.
Together which Jérome's troops I encircled the Chimera keeping running in circles, it kept it's sight on me as much as possible. As I wanted to give the order to charge Jérome shot his cat of light at the other eye of the Chimera this time the cat had wings and was faster, scratching the other eye this time the Chimera was obviously blinded and enraged.
Enraged he opened his mouth and poison gasses quickly filled the battlefield.
As I gave the order to retreat it was to late for one of my soldier, the gas turned out to be extremly lethal and had taken its toll on him.
The rest got away for now as way retreated slightly back towards the mountains.
We could not let that thing live yet we could not get closer at the moment.
I orderded my men to retreat back to the eastern base I would stand ground here with Jérome and his men giving my men some time to rest.
As the chimera did not attack anymore the day turned into night and we could also rest Jérome would stand guard after midnight I traded place with Jérome giving him some rest too.
The next morning the poison gasses had dissolved and the Chimera seemed to be waiting for us to make the next move.
We split up in two groups and charged, yet the trembling underneath our galloping horses gave us away as he opened his mouth ready to exhale his lethal gas once more. "Widen up" Jérome screamed.
His soldiers obeyed as such the distance between the two groups got larger each now running in opposite directions.
Jérome fired his cat once more at the Chimera, yet without result as it exhaled his lethal gas.
Again the gas started to spreaded through the battlefield when suddenly a flash of grey Lightning struck down the enemy, the gas not to yet spread too much over the battlefield burned quickly and dissolved.
Mikael had arrived, also on a horse. He dismounted from the horse gave it a nudge and the horse ran back towards the city, Not to far away from me he said. "Sorry did ruin the party?"
Looking at the now pretty buff Mikael I was impressed how he had changed.
The Chimera started moving again so I answered, "Not good enough it seems" as Jérome closed in on our conversation and said, "Great, my turn then" Smiling confident.
He dismounted his horse and took off his chestplate, Jérome was getting serious.
Suddenly four wings darker then black appeared on his back as he took off towards the enemy. This time the Chimera did not sense anything as Jérome pounded into the centipede body of the Chimera with his Morningstar, A spike went through the flesh as he focused on that spike, the cat of light was now inside the Chimera and for a few seconds went rampage inside of it, damaging vital organs in the process.
The Chimera now in pain now unearthed his tail, aiming at Jérome.
Quickly I teleported to Jérome and wanted to teleport back as the liquid had hit my feet.
I screamed out in pain as the liquid burned through my boots and my flesh.
after that I succeded in teleporting back.
"Thanks for the assist guys" Mikael said as he slowly made his way to the Chimera.
Now standing dangerously close to the giant Chimera, he stared at the blind beast in anger.
As flash after flash of grey Lightning struck down hitting the Chimera until Mikael fell to his knees.
His magic almost depleted, but he was smiling. His lightning had entered through every wound and as a result roasted the already wounded organs and his flesh.
We made haste towards Mikael, put him on a horse a made our way back towards the southern base.
Once back Jérome introduced himself to Mikael.
"Jérome lé Darc young lord, Who can we thank for having you among our ranks" he said.
"The god of courage" I laughed after which I called him crazy for walking straight at the Chimera.
"That thing would have turned you to goo if it had heard or sensed you" I said, slightly worried.
"Yeah well it didn't" Mikael answered smiling
after that a soldier came with a bucket of ice and water for my feet. and so I sat there for the rest of the night...
