Chapter 13

Two weeks later.

"Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu!!" Kushina yelled out, 10 clones appearing behind her.

"Where'd you learn that?" Karma raised an eyebrow.

"Naruto. Now's not the time to talk!! Put more effort into fighting them, not talking to me!!" Kushina yelled at him as she charged at one of the enemy shinobi.

"Alright. Alright." Karma said as he rushed with her, creating 10 clones of his own to help Kushina's.

"Heh. Just some little genin-" one of the chunin surrounding them tried to taunt, receiving Ailanes guitar with his face. Unfortunately for him, she was in Sage Mode, so he was sent flying into his allies.

"Aniki, do you think Himari will be okay?" Ailane asked. They had been separated at the start of the battle. Himari was currently fighting multiple jonin.

"I'll go help her, you two clear out these guys." Karma said.

"Got it." Kushina said. "Be careful, Karma."

Under the cover of explosions produced from detonating his clones, Karma broke out of the encirclement, heading for where Himari was fighting 6 jonin on her own. While she was easily fending them off, she couldn't get an opportunity to finish any off.

"Well, let's deal with these guys before going to help them, Ailane!" Kushina encouraged her teammate.

"Seriously though, who would have thought there would be an ambush set up by the Hidden Cloud Village here of all places?" Ailane asked.

"Would you like to know? Little girls? I guess I'll do you a favor before you die, and tell you. The Hidden Sand Village sold you out. They will soon break off their alliance with you, and your lives are a gift for us." A ninja answered. This one, unlike the rest of them was actually a Jonin, something made obvious by the way the others looked at him, though it was obvious it was a Jonin of significantly less skill than the other Jonin that ambushed them. Otherwise, he would be helping the others to siege Himari.

"Kushina, can you hold him off with your shadow clones? I can handle the Chunin by myself." Ailane said.

"Yup. I've got this. Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu!" She yelled as she ran at the Jonin, followed by several dozen clones.

"Sage Art: Wind Wave!" Ailane calles, waving her guitar toward the chunin, now lined up behind the jonin leader. She sent a large wave of wind chakra hurtling towards them, knocking most of them on the ground before bashing their heads with her guitar. Those that dodged quickly moved back in assuming that being close by would prevent her from making use of her odd choice of weapon.

Ailane waited until they were close enough to grab her before jumping above them, faster than the closing of their hand. "Lightning Release: Great Lightning Spear!" She yelled as she formed a lightning spear twice the size of her body in her right hand, holding her guitar with the other. Then she threw it into the group of chunin, sending them all flying.

"What?!" The Jonin leader yelled in shock. Though he was dealing with Kushina, he was able to easily fend her and her clones off. He had been paying attention to the fight between his Chunin underlings, and Ailane, expecting to see a tragic struggle. Unfortunately, he witnessed a slaughter. He didn't think he could do that. How could a Genin be so strong?

Panicked, he swifty made his way to the other fight, Kushina and Ailane hot on his tail. 'If I can just help get rid of their Jonin, we can kill them easily!' He thought. As he had Himari within his sight he prepped his attack. "Earth Release: Mud Bomb!" He conjured up a mud ball the size of a head and it jetted toward Himari.

Naturally, Himari could sense it, but she was preoccupied blocking five other shinobi at once. She could only brace herself.

Meanwhile, Karma was was doing his best to fend off the last of the jonin, but when he saw the attack headed for Himari, he lost his focus a little. The shinobi he was fighting use this as an opportunity to attack Himari as well, "Earth Release: Stone Arm Lance!" He yelled out, moving towards Himari with a stone lance formed on his arm.

Karma, with no other option, utilized shunpo to get behind Himari and block the attacks with his body. Anyway, if he died he could just revive the body. It wasn't a big deal for him. He didn't want to let Himari die just because he could resurrect her though.

Besides, he wouldn't die. 'Matatabi!' He called in his mind.

'Yes!' Matatabi answered.

BOOM!!

"Karma!!" Kushina screamed, thinking he would die.

"Nooo!!" Ailane also screamed, not noticing he was alive through her senses. She looked at the two Jonin who had attacked through the smoke, her eyes' sclera turned red, the iris now black with a lighter red line in the center. In her rage she unconsciously began to reverse the flow of blood of the two shinobi, only stopped by the call of her brother.

"Ailane! I'm okay!" He said as the smoke cleared, revealing Karma, clad in a blue chakra cloak with patterns of black flames all over it and a fiery aura. He quickly turned and sent fire claws at every enemy, and thanks to the help of Matatabi, the power behind them was able to wipe the enemies. 'Ketsuryugan? Well, I guess that's what happens when I don't control every element of my birth and family, and just set it up a little.' He thought. "I'm okay..." he said again before pretending to fall unconscious. He was after all, not up to the task of explaining the Ketsuryugan or his Matatabi Chakra Mode. Something he thought of doing since he saw Naruto do it when he watched the original story.

This time, Ailane was able to sense his breath, and sighed in relief. "Hey," Kushina asked her, "what's with your eyes?"

"Huh?" Ailane replied.

"You unlocked the Ketsuryugan, Ailane." Himari stated while searching through the bodies for more information, tying all the unconscious ninja up.

"Eh? Like the thing Itachi has?" Ailane asked.

"Yes. Though what he has is known as the 'Sharingan.' It is something ridiculously rarely passed down in our clan. You see, our clan has a deep history with the Uchiha, as we were originally Uchiha..." Himari explained.

Kushina, who had been ignored, meanwhile, called out, "Hello?! What's a Ketsuryugan?"

Author's Note: I don't plan for Byakuya to stay Matatabi's jinchuriki too long. Probably after the Chunin Exams, he won't have her. That's just an estimate though. And in the Naruto world, if you don't have some bs hacks you're gonna get trashed, so Ketsuryugan. Besides, Matatabi wouldn't be able to match Kurama at all. Half of Kurama, countered Matatabi and 5 other biju.
