Katherine’s Vanilla: Now with a Hint of Existential Crisis

Katherine lay down on her bed, satisfied. As soon as she got home, she had begun making vanilla extract using Aethervan. She wasn't an expert, but making vanilla should be easy enough. Splitting each pod open, she carefully placed them into a jar before pouring in the alcohol. Now all she had to do was seal the jar and wait.

Tomorrow, the magic stickers would arrive, allowing the vanilla to age at an accelerated rate. Normally, some would let it sit for two weeks, but with the stickers, it would reach a six-month maturity in mere minutes.

"Magic is amazing," she mused with a smile.

She had also wanted to prepare cassava for an upcoming recipe but lacked the proper tools. Instead, she sketched a design and sent it to Zamir, hoping he could craft one for her.

Making a café in this world was far more exhausting than she had anticipated—perhaps because the materials and tools she was accustomed to simply did not exist here.
