Katherine was busy preparing for the symposium, but no matter how much she went over her list, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was forgetting something. She had spoken to her aunt about it, who reassured her that everything was taken care of—including hiring a personal maid for her once she left.

What stood out to Katherine, however, was how unusually pleased her aunt seemed when mentioning the maid.

Had Aunt Yevon ever been this enthusiastic about hiring staff before? The thought lingered in Katherine's mind, but before she could dwell on it further, a knock at the door interrupted her thoughts.

"Come in."

Philemon stepped inside, offering a polite bow.

"Lady Katherine, I hope I am not disturbing you."

"Not at all," she replied, setting down the parchment she had been reviewing.
