chapter 3

" Dave, you've been sleeping for too long, are you going to wake up or what?" My mom screamed from downstairs.

I open my eyes and head to the shower, love me a warm shower. I brush my teeth and doing normal things. Wore my pants and left the room, well not exactly I kinda went back to get the letter and keep it with me as my mom doesn't understand what privacy means at all. I mean yes she wants my safety but it would be great if she goes easy on me before I turn into a monster just like my brother.

" Hey mom, I'm going to meet Kal and Jess today. Need anything?" I asked.

"No, I'm all good, just take care and wait" she walks to me from the living room where she was working on some papers, " I told your dad and he's not happy about it, he thinks your going to run away like your brother did". I put my hand on her shoulder and hug her, " mom, I would never leave, and if I would I would take you with me" I kiss her on the forehead and grab my keys and head to sweet heaven, by that I mean my baby. By baby, I meant my lovely ass car-which is also dirty.

While driving I started remembering the old days when my brother Evan was here, I mean we weren't close but still I loved him and wanted the best for him. I guess he just never really had feelings because my dad and mom were always not satisfied with what he does and want more. They don't do that to me as well, I already told them I want to be a blogger. They don't like it but are okay with it. Anyways, the reason Evan left and doesn't want to talk to anyone is after the huge fight between him and dad. It all went fire after my dad found out he was doing drugs while in university. My mom still does pay for his semesters, but he doesn't seem to contact any of us at all. Not even for birthdays or any celebrations. He even made it clear he doesn't want to talk to any of us for good. My dad was fine with it but not my mom. She to this day has a hard time, even after 3 years of no talking. I mean I get it why he left for England. He wouldn't even tell me what university just so no one comes for him. But I feel like he's robbing my parents, I don't even know if he's fucking alive or even if he's studying.

I reach Kal's house and wait for him, texted him that I'm out. He takes some time, so I thought reading the letter might help my anxiety level down a little. I open it slowly trying not to rip it.

Dear Dave,

What the fuck, I know its been so long since we talked, or if we ever talked. It is me if you don't remember your brother. I just wanted to say I'm sorry for everything, I'm sorry for not standing next to you and being there as a brother. I know I could have just sent you a message using my phone, but I just couldn't let anyone know about this. I'm dead by the time you see this, yes I did ask one of my friends in long dale to send this to you if your wondering.

Things needed to be made for you and mom and dad to be safe, don't cry now and just stay safe. Some people will come to our house acting as inspectors, DON'T let them in, their not normal at all. I wish I could go back in time, but I can't. You will get all your answers once you see Regina. Take care of everyone please.

" The fuck is he talking about?" I asked my self. I look to my left and see Kal leaving his house, I hide the paper in my bag and smile as he walks over. He gets in and starts looking at the car. " It needs a lot of work but I think it is going to be great, by the way, congrats" he hugs me and we start dancing to the music on the radio. I head to jess to pick her up and just drive around and see what we can do. "why is Hope not coming again?" Asked Kal.

" She has dick appointment" I replied looking at him as we both start laughing. " but seriously where is she?" He asked again.

" I don't know, to be honest, I just remember her saying something about New York" I replied. Trying to still forget about the letter I got.

" Tell me why your sister doesn't want to live in the north pass again?" I asked.

" Well firstly long pass is big and rich, my dad lives there. Sadly all rapids and drug dealers live there too" said Kal.

"but like isn't it safe if she lives in the north pass instead of being far off from your mom?" I asked.

But funny enough I know my brother isn't dead, that being not his handwriting and him giving me a code, yes we weren't close but I'm dead is a code to find me in the woods. I know that cause he used It while trying to meet his girlfriend. Back when he was in senior year.

"we finally reached" I stop the car, jess waves while her dad waves at us and smiles at Kal.

"ready?" I asked.

"born ready" she replied. We head to the lake far off the town, we go there every year after doing our wood thing. It became a tradition that we just can't leave anymore.

"so how's mom?" Asked Jess.

"she's good, she's starting to see this guy named Jack, and it seems like they both like each other" said Kal showing his picture to me and jess.

"hope he treats her well" said jess.

" Yup I hope too" I replied with him looking at both of us.
