Chapter 5

I wake up with my phone buzzing, I check and find my brother calling. I grab the phone and head to the bathroom.

"Hey, everything alright?" I asked.

"yeah, Veronica is coming to you, I need you to give her some clothes for me," he said, with me replying "alright". I head to his room quietly trying to grab as many things I could from his room. Mom and dad don't like it when I enter his room cause well they once entered his room without knocking and saw him fully naked with Regina doing their thing. Yeah, that's super awkward when our parents are very Religious and go church every week.

I send a text message to my brother telling him everything is ready, the only problem is that Veronica is coming. It is just awkward I mean we didn't have sex or anything its just that she still likes me and thinks I like her back. She might go all hell on me when she finds out I like our neighbor Jean. I look through my window and see Jean on her bed sleeping.

"what the fuck," I say to my self. "I look like a creep" I close the blinds and head to the shower, but of course after touching my self a little. Don't think of Jean, don't be kinky and weird I started looking at my self in the mirror telling my self to be normal. The last time I hooked up was with a 30-year-old woman, I know it is gross but I was 15 and experimenting. I mean I wasn't the brightest at all, I grab my shorts and a t-shirt and head down. My parents asleep and it is 9 am Friday.

"Why are you awake?" I look behind me and it is my mom sitting next to the fireplace reading her book on how to be a great mom.

"firstly good morning, secondly why are you awake is the question," I asked taking a banana from the fridge.

" Things are in my mind, your brother isn't even calling or even picking up and it is making me worried," she said closing the book.

" I was never close to him, but he's fine I guess" I replied with a smile.

"he cared about you, he did. It's just that we were forcing him to be something he never wanted to be in the first place, we were mean and very hard on him until he just exploded and we knew what I and your dad were doing is wrong" she said while grabbing eggs to make breakfast.

Fuck it hurts lying about a subject like this, telling her my brother is back in town and is in danger of being killed by some gang bangers that literally can be anyone.

"well, I'm going to the woods to meet a friend of mine. I'll be late like usual so don't worry about me at all, I'll be safe as per usual" I kissed her on her head and headed to my room with a couple of snacks I took from downstairs, putting them into the bag of clothes for Evan.

"Dave you have a friend here" my mom called. I head down and there she was Jean with her redhead beauty grabbing my eyes to her like usual.

"hey," she waved with her huge red lips glowing from upstairs.

"hey, how are you?" I asked.

"I'm good, I'm going for a walk so do you wanna grab some things for tomorrow's first day," she asked.

"yeah sure, mom by the way this is our neighbor Jean black she moved in this week and is going to attend north pass high"

"Nice to meet you, hopefully, we'll meet your parents when you guys are free" she replied. I grab my keys and close the door.

"instead of walking let us take my car" I offered.

"yeah sure why not" she replied. She gets into my car and we hype up the music listening to some Beyonce formation.

"so we never really had the time to know each other more, how about I introduce you to my friends tomorrow?" I asked.

"yes sure, I mean I still haven't made a lot of friends around here so it would be great to be with a group right now" she replied, playing with her hair.

We reach the nearest store to get some things for her first day. We talked and talked for hours after, got to know her a-lot from what she likes to what she hates. Found out her parents are huge football fans like my dad and mom. After hours of being out, I got a text on my phone from Veronica telling me she's next to my back yard.

"hey I just remembered I had a thing, is it okay if we continue this some other day?" I asked.

"yeah sure, either way, I'm late and my parents would kill me if I don't go back in time" she replied. We head home and say our goodbyes, waving with a smile. I park next to my house seeing my dad's car, not in the drive-through.

"huh? I guess he's still at work" I head to my room grabbing the bag and leaving through the back yard. I sent a text message telling her I left through the back. But she wouldn't care. She's always busy at this time of the day.

"hey you are late," said Veronica sneaking out of the huge tree next to me.

"hey! Sorry I had a thing and forgot about this" I replied.

" A thing with a red-headed girl" I looked at her confused of how she new

"how'd you know that?" I asked.

"well, I saw you driving with her to the store and besides I was there buying some things for your brother" she replied.

"are you sure you weren't skying on me again?" I asked.

"yes, and besides I used to like you, now your just a person to me who didn't work out well at all" she replied. Kind of made me feel shit having to treat her as a person who I can't stand. I mean she gave me happiness when I needed to. Wow, am I creating feelings at the wrong time of the day after going out with Jean? Jesus, I need some help and that's a fact. I mean Its true that men want women for attention most of the time.

I run to my brother giving him a hug and a smile, handing him the bag.

"Thanks, your seriously a lifesaver," he said.

"it is okay just be safe" I replied.

"now that you guys are here we have a small problem," Said Regina looking at her phone standing next to the door. We all enter and sit on the table next to the fireplace.

"The gangs just made a target," said Regina showing us her phone. A picture of my brother written on the top, payment of 2 million dollars if dead or alive.

"shit," my brother said panicking, shaking his legs, and getting sweaty.

"This is no good news at all," said Veronica. I didn't on the other hand know what to fucking say, my brother is next to me close enough to crying and killing himself and on the other hand Regina and Veronica are thinking of away.

"what if they don't find him?" I asked.

"well, again we don't know who's working with them. They are just everywhere and have millions of dollars with them" said Regina.

"maybe we can hide him until he's forgotten or has changed," said Veronica.

"I kind of agree with that" I replied.

" I can't just hide like that," said Evan.

"or what exactly? You are wanted by the most dangerous gangs in north America. The only way you can survive is if they think your dead" said Regina. Sitting together thinking of a way to end this fast without anyone getting hurt is a fucked up shit.

"wait, they just need to think he's dead," I said having an idea that I think might work to protect Evan and at the same time change his identity for good.

"what if we did a whole scene where he died in a fire at his dorm, and make the news talk about it? And while people are on It I can talk to someone I know to make him a fake passport and a new name and go somewhere safe" I explained my plan to them. They all looked at me wondering if it was a good idea doing such a thing like this.

" How will I even earn or do things?" Asked Evan.

"well I'll help with your earning, I can ask someone from my family to give you a good job with comfortable wages to take care of your self," said Veronica.

"and I can visit you now and then to make sure your safe, and I have a house under my name In Washington so it is all safe," said Regina. Looking at my brother he didn't like the idea of making my parents not see him for good, let alone think he's dead when he's in Washington hiding with a new life.

"I don't like it," said Evan. We all looked at him confused about why he didn't like the plan.

"why?" Asked Regina, " its the safest idea and no one would die"

" As much as I want this, it would ruin my parents and they will find out I have a brother, what if they try killing you Dave, I can't risk that," said Evan trying to think of another way to deal with this.

" I don't care what you think, but this is the only way you can live free. As for me, I can take care of myself" I replied insisting ongoing with the plan.

" I agree, were north pass we don't let our people get hurt," said Veronica.

" I mean you are not from the north pass but okay" I replied.

"well long dale is with you, even though we hate each other were together in this one," said Regina.
