Chapter 16

*The Next Morning*

Okay...you can do this!

With that, I push open the door to the office to see workers at their desks while their assistants run around grabbing different items. For myself, I've been hired as the new secretary for the boss. His name is Jung Wooyoung, that's all I know pretty much except for his likes and dislikes, they made it clear so I don't mess it up.

"He especially hates employees that are late, so never show up late," the words echo in my head from what the worker who was temporarily filling in while they hired someone, that someone being me. Well, I'm at least 15 minutes early. I smile a little at my timing, getting there early then I thought I would.

I head into my office which is right outside Mr. Jung's office. I set up my laptop and everything needed before logging in, getting all the leftover work from the last secretary as well as new things from today. Just fantastic…

I sigh heavily, preparing for what will be a long day at work.

Namjoon's POV

"Jin hyung are you busy right now?" I question as he shakes his head, looking up at me with a curious look.

"No, not really, why?" He questions, closing the book he had been reading and placing it to his side.

"Well, I wanted to talk to you about Y/N," I state with a sigh, sitting down in the open space next to him on the couch.

"Yeah, what about her?" He inquires, leaning back a little to see me better.

"I-I don't want her to leave," I mumble out, with a long sigh following.

"Joon-"

"Please hyung, I like her here! It's been so nice, even if Yoongi hyung doesn't want her here anymore, I just-"

"Woah! Joonie please, calm down," Jin states, finally cutting me off, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder as my eyes sting at the thought.

"B-But-" I hiccup out before he shushes me, hugging me close tightly. Rubbing circles on my back comfortingly to distract me from the stray tears I didn't notice, "She's not gone yet Joon, and even if you would want her here…we should ask her first what she wants to do. She may really want her own place again, Joon. But we don't know, so please just breathe. We still have time to figure this out."

"T-Thank you Jin hyung," I mumble out, feeling my heart become a little lighter.

"Of course, Joonie. I'm always here for you, you know that," He states giving a little ruffle to my hair. I chuckle and pull back from the hug giving him a warm smile as he does the same.

"You know though, what I can't get out of my mind is the conversation I had with Yoongi the other day," I say leaning back into the couch with a heavy sigh.

"I heard about it, but you shouldn't dwell over it," Jin hyung states with a comforting smile.

"B-But it's just that I think Y/N heard the entire thing...what if she gets the idea that we don't want her here or trust her?" I question as my thoughts spill out.

"I think she has a pretty good idea Joonie, and only time can help us trust her. Even if we have a good gut feeling about her, only time will tell us. But trust me when I say I think we all want to trust her fully, it just takes time," Jin answers in a soft tone as I nod in response.

"Time will tell," I mumble as he gets up leaving the room, as I think over the phrase again and again.

Author's POV

Unknowingly to the boys in the living room, Yoongi had been just around the corner listening to the entire conversation. Himself questioning whether he should be as harsh as he is to Y/N. Guilt begins to eat him up at how he has been treating her, not even really giving her much of a chance. The only chance ever really being when she needed a place to stay at and he gave in, seeing there had been no ill intentions or any suspicion surrounding the matter. With Yoongi deep in thought, his feet lead him back to his room to contemplate as Namjoon thinks through his conversation with Jin.

Y/N's POV

I close the laptop with a sigh having finally finished both the leftover paperwork and the stuff from today. Finally done! Maybe now I can go back to the house-

"Miss Y/N, please come into my office," My new boss's voice beckons through the phone. This being only the second time that he's called me all day, I take in a deep breath before entering his room and bowing towards him politely.

"Yes sir?" I question as he turns around in his chair, flipping his pen around in his hand.

"I'd like to say that I'm pleased with your work today, so keep it up. That's all, you may go now," he says matter of factly before waving his hand for me to leave his office. I nod my head managing not to break out into a smile before closing the door.

Yes yes yes! I internally celebrate while grabbing my things.

Author's POV

"Still a naive and young thing, isn't she?" A voice states emerging from the shadows of Mr. Jung's office as Wooyoung nods in agreement.

"She fell right into our trap, and now it's time to wait," Wooyoung states, spinning the pen in his hand around.

"But I don't wanna wait, sir!" The voice whines with a pout as Wooyoung hushes him.

"Don't fail me like you have before. We don't want that, do we?" Wooyoung states with a raised eyebrow, glaring at the male in front of him.

"No sir," he mumbles as Wooyoung smiles evilly in response.

"Now you know the plan but I'll say it again in more detail so you get it in your head. We've already found her easily so we don't have to worry about that factor. So now you will just pose as one of my workers, and then befriend her. Finally, one night you'll take her out for a "friend's" night and that's when we will take her back," Wooyoung states smirking widely.

"Yes sir," The voice states bowing, "Is that all sir?"

"Yes you may go," Wooyoung replies, waving the male off.

Finally, when the door closes, Wooyoung breaks out in a loud cackle looking at the pen in his hand, "You were such an easy catch Miss Y/N, and now I have you right in the palm of my hand."
