Undeniable Tension

"Yun-Yun!" Jungkook happily greeted Seo-yeon as he and Jin entered the studio. Seo was arranging props with other staff. She caught the laughing eyes of the other staff members staring at her when they heard Jungkook's nickname for her. Her cheeks tinted pink, and she embarrassingly waved at both men. Today was Jin and Jungkook's day for photo shoot recreations. She lead them to the drawing board to give them a overall view of what the plan was for the session.

"So if there's anything specific you would like to omit, or include, you are welcome to share. Remember, we have a schedule to follow." Both nodded in understanding. They began to discuss ideas, and the shoot began.

****Four hours later****

"Ok, let's take a break for now. I think I got great images. We'll do the individual ones in an hour and a half." All staff began to disperse at the order given. The time once again flew by. Working with them was as entertaining as it was with the three from the previous day. Seo-yeon intentionally held off on taking the individual pictures. She wasn't sure how she was going to survive capturing Jin's breathtaking profile. He was a different person when he transformed into his professional idol character. It became intimidating to capture that transformation. The silly, friendly men that greeted, and joked with her completely changed the moment the camera was prepped. Occasionally, they broke "character" and would begin messing around with each other. She made sure to take those images as well.

"Seo-yeon?" Seo-yeon looked up from her laptop and realized that they were the only two left in the studio. She swirled in her seat to see if Jungkook had at least stayed. Her body tensed when she could not find him anywhere. Even with friendship being agreed on, she still worried about rumors.

"Jungkook went to get something to quickly eat." He said as a quick explanation. He didn't want to cause her to panic.

"You weren't hungry?"

"No..." His stomach protested a loud grumble. His ears turned a bright shade of red, and he sheepishly covered his stomach. He had hoped to spend as much time with her as possible. If it meant skipping a meal, he was willing to sacrifice that for a moment with Seo.

"I brought my own lunch today. Would you like to share it? It's not much." Seo-yeon took out her packed lunch. Both sat across from each other at the coffee table. They began digging into the food.

"Do you ever eat in the staff room?"

"Sometimes, but we've been so swamped with this upcoming issue. I wanted to get as much done as possible."

"You don't have an assistant?"

"I don't. Eun-ha is kind enough to help out though, uh, but she's terrible at editing." Jin listened quietly as she continued to talk about her work at the magazine company. He could feel his heart fill with pride for her accomplishments within the past month. She earned her place in the field, and made friends along the way.

"Jin?" He blinked her back into focus, having been daydreaming. He hadn't realized she was asking him something.

"I'm sorry. Can you repeat that?" She burrowed her brows in confusion, but repeated herself.

"I asked how the interview with our writers went."

"Oh, it wasn't bad. They focused on our growth as artists." He shared what was asked and his answers. Seo-yeon was impressed at how they avoided giving personal information. They answered enough to keep fans, and reporters briefly satisfied, while keeping their privacy. They each learned new things about each other. There were no more secrets, and they could feel the change in their relationship.

"I'm glad we did this." Seo-yeon said. Her voice was filled with relief. She was glad that they could be friends after all.

"Did what?"

"Spend lunch together," she began to clean up the table with Jin's help, "I'm sorry I didn't respond to your email. I have to be honest with you. I wasn't sure if we would be able to do this."

"Be friends?"

"Yes. We were friends briefly. But it escalated pretty quick..."

Jin sighed to himself. She wasn't wrong. He was surprised at how fast they had fell for each other. Perhaps this was an opportunity to really know each other. To know that it was not a brief fling, or infatuation.

"I don't have a lot of friends outside the entertainment industry. Those I did have before all this...they don't stay in contact like I would like. It means a lot to me that you are giving this a chance."

"Me too."

"Hey, why didn't you invite me?" Jungkook walked into the studio and gave Jin a dramatic pout.

"Sorry, you sprinted out of here when she said we'd take a break."

"I was hungry." Jungkook laughed at himself. He had been one of the first ones out of the studio at the given opportunity to eat. He didn't even stop to see if Jin had been following. It did seem odd to figure out that he had been with Seo-yeon this whole time. He squinted his eyes at Jin, suddenly curious. 'Wait, does Hyung like her?"

Jin caught his stare. He could guess what was going through his head, and didn't have time to explain the situation. He decided to change the subject to avoid making Seo-yeon uncomfortable.

"Who'd you eat with Kookie?"

"Jimin." He gave a short answer, and smiled at Jin's switch of topic.

"Uh, so I wanted to start with Jungkook's pictures. We can choose the ones you wanted to feature, and then include the ones the publisher wanted." Seo cut in. She didn't know what internal conversation was occurring, but she hoped to get back to work.

"Sure, Yun-Yun."

An hour and a half later, she moved onto Jin. Jungkook had been playful, and professional. It still amazed her how they could be both. Jin began to pose for her. His eyes never left her. She knew that her face must be pink under his intense stare. She began giving direction of how she wanted him to face. She stepped forward to position him, and her heart beat increased under his sweet stare. Clearing her throat, she stepped back behind her camera, and continued.

Jungkook sat on a spare seat, watching the shoot. He rested his chin on his hand, assessing the view. He wasn't sure if anyone else felt what he did. There was a tension between Jin and Seo-yeon. He wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but he could swear that she hesitated to touch him. He also took notice that Jin would briefly tense when she positioned him, or got too close. The staff were too busy with their responsibilities to notice, but Jungkook did. He noticed the stares, blushing, and avoidance in touch.

His head began to fill with questions. Yoongi or Jin? Were they all wrong in suspecting a relationship between Yoongi and Seo? Did Jin like her while Yoongi and her dated? He shook his head in frustration. He didn't know what she meant to them, but he doubted it was only friendship. He continued to silently observe the pair. 'What exactly happened on that fishing trip?'
