Seo-yeon slept through her alarm and awoke to Eun-ha's rampant knocking on her door. She looked at her clock and realized that it was already nine-thirty. They had set plans to meet an hour ago. She was exhausted having come home close to two in the morning. Worried that the neighbors might call the police due to the disturbance, she quickly ran to her door to let in Eun-ha.
"I am so, so sorry!" She quickly apologized. Eun-ha walked in and froze when she saw Seo-yeon's face. She looked worn out. Her hair was in disarray and her eyes were red from lack of sleep.
"You worked late again, didn't you?!" she shot her an accusatory glare.
"Yes. I had to," Seo flopped back onto her bed, "I finished my part of the issue by the way."
Eun-ha pulled a chair up close to the bed as her friend lay dramatically. She figured she'd cut her some slack. Her job was stressful enough without her having to lecture her about her health. She respected Seo for being such a hard worker, and hoped she become just as responsible as her.
"Fine. At least drink the coffee I brought you," she extended the cup to an now sitting, eager Seo, "So, I think we should hit some stores and try on outfits. Once we figure that out, we can get some accessories. Seeing how you slept a good portion of the morning, we should eat lunch before heading to my place for hair and make up. What time does the party start?"
"Guests can arrive around seven. They'll have drinks and food will be served around seven thirty. The party officially will begin at eight thirty."
"That's plenty of time for us." Seo finished her drink and with the help of Eun-ha, she got out of bed and they headed out for their shopping.
***Later that afternoon***
They spent the entire day trying on clothes at different stores. Seo wasn't sure how she kept up with Eun-ha but she made it through the day with her electric energy. They had lunch and talked about anything and everything.
Back at Eun-ha's place, they set on perfecting their "look." Seo requested to go for a natural look, as she wasn't accustomed to a lot of make up on her. Eun-ha styled her hair to enhance Seo's waves around her shoulders. She encouraged her to keep her hair down as she always had it up at work. Seo stared at her reflection in the mirror and was amazed at the transformation standing before her. Eun-ha was indeed a great stylist and make up artist. She looked elegant in the light pink cocktail dress they chose for her. It complimented her figure, while being modest.
"Alright, here's the finishing touch," Eun-ha brought her beautiful hanging earrings that highlighted her facial features, "Wow, you look beautiful! Who knows, you might meet someone tonight."
Seo rolled her eyes at the thought. She did not plan on making any new "friends." She was strictly going to support BTS and make connections. She ignored the voice in her head saying Jin was key reason in denying any advancements made by other men.
Satisfied with their appearance, both women grabbed their purses and headed out for the car they requested for the evening.
***Comeback Party***
The building was packed with various people ranging from lawyers to celebrities. Everyone smiled and greeted new and old friends. Music played in the background as the guests continued to relish in the drinks and food provided. The walls were lit up with colored lights, pictures of BTS and other decorations. The screens played the group in different shots of music videos. Tall tables were scattered around the room for guests that wished to stand and eat or drink. An area with couches were available for those that needed to rest or simply sit to engage in conversation.
Security screened each guest before they came in, and confirmed that they had invitations. No media was allowed other than a few that were invited by BitHit themselves. Seo-yeon and Eun-ha walked in with the crowd in complete amazement. It was both of their first times at an event this big. They clung onto each other's arms as they gazed at the beautiful men and women. Some celebrities they recognized and they clutched onto each other and exclaimed in glee.
All the people in attendance continued to chat and dine on the beverages and food. An hour and a half passed when the lights lowered, and attention was given to the small stage at the front of the room. The stage lit up as BTS, their managers and the CEO of BitHit gathered.
Seo-yeon stood quietly as the introductions and speeches were made. She gazed around the room taking in her environment. She had been staring at one of the screens which had a slideshow of BTS pictures when she felt as if someone was watching her. Her eyes made contact with another pair.
A handsome man she did not know smiled at her startled expression, and tipped his glass of what she assumed was some sort of whiskey at her. Slightly nodding her head in greeting, she returned her attention to the stage. She listened to the remainder of the speeches, not turning to see if they man was still watching her.
The room filled with cheers as the introductions concluded and BTS was able to walk around to engage with guests. The party continued, with the stage and dance floor opening up for those that wished to dance along to the music. Eun-ha excused herself to talk with a fellow stylist. Seo-yeon stood alone unsure of who to talk with. She began to walk around the area when the man from earlier approached her.
"Hello." He greeted in a friendly manner.
"Good evening."
"I'm Lee Yoo Suk. I work in PR for K Magazine. Jin Ae talks about you all the time. Praises the work you do. I've only seen your ID picture, but haven't had the pleasure of officially meeting you."
Relieved that he was someone from her company, and that they shared something in common, she returned his smile.
"It's great to meet you. I'm sure Jin Ae exaggerated, but it's still nice to hear that she spoke so highly of me."
"I saw the pictures you took this week, and it's not just talk. You do incredible work."
"Thank you." Seo blushed at the praise. She reminded herself to thank Jin Ae if she sees her later.
"Would you like a drink? I can get you one from the bar."
"Oh, no. I'm not a big drinker."
"Just one drink," he insisted. Seo didn't want to be rude, but she really didn't want to drink during an important event. She didn't drink often, and she worried that she'd make a bad impression if she couldn't make a clear judgement of her alcohol limit. She was about to refuse when she spotted Jungkook approaching them. She internally thanked the heavens for sending her this young man into her life.
"Yun-Yun!" He happily exclaimed, ignoring the curious stares, "Wow! You look pretty!"
Not immune to the curious stares, her thanks suddenly plummeted. She hadn't anticipated any of the members treating her this friendly. They were friends with everyone and loving to those they were close with, but that meant others would become intrigued. Everyone will want to know how they met, when they met, and how close they were.
"Thank you." As much as she wanted to chide him for being so careless, she couldn't be too mad at him.
"Oh! Mr. Lee! It's good to see you."
"You too. I didn't realize you and Miss Park were so close." Mr. Lee didn't miss the opportunity to "investigate" the situation.
"Of course! She's my big sister! Right, Yun-Yun?" He gave her the most innocent smile. She groaned in defeat. 'Not even Hye can get me like this!'
"I apparently was deemed worthy to be the maknae line's sister."
Mr. Lee looked pleased with the explanation. Anyone could see that it was a sibling friendship between her and the young man. The innocence of the pair was enough to close any speculation.
"Uh, Namjoon's calling for me. I'll see you later." Jungkook waved and headed to his hyung.
"About that drink." Mr. Lee began.
"I really am not a big drinker."
"Just-"
"She said she wasn't a big drinker. It's safe to assume that that means no." Both turned in union at the irritated voice. Seo-yeon's face contorted in fear of more speculation. Mr. Lee frowned in annoyance, but blinked in intimidation when he spotted his adversary.
Jin with his hair styled, and dressed in a fitted tux, stood between the two. He did not take his eyes off Mr. Lee. He smiled pleasantly, but Seo-yeon could see that the smile did not reach his eyes. To anyone watching, it looked like a friendly greeting. To the the three, the hostility filled the small space.
