Home-Bound

The following day, after meeting Jin's family, they made the long drive from Seoul to Seo-yeon's hometown. Initially planning on going out alone, the other members happily interfered with their plans. Knowing the drive would take approximately three and a half hours, they eventually welcomed the company of the others.

They drove in two separate vehicles which allowed them to split into two groups of four. They set plans to stay at the beach house Jin and Yoongi had vacationed at during their break. Depending on the outcome of the family meeting, they hoped to have a cook out, spend the night, and then head back to Seoul, where Jin was expected to meet with the PR staff to go over his speech at the media press conference. Jimin, Ho-Seok, Namjoon and Tae-Hyung rode in one car while the others rode in the second.

"Are you nervous, Hyung?" Jungkook asked Jin, who had been unusually quiet the past twenty minutes.

"What? No..." Jin brushed off the question, giving Seo-yeon a brief smile. The couple sat in front, Jin driving.

"How could you not be?" Jungkook said skeptically. "I'd be a mess if I was meeting my girl's family for the first time."

"Kook, don't make him even more nervous," Yoongi jokingly commented.

"I'm not nervous," Jin denied. Seo-yeon sympathetically smiled at his attempt to show how unaffected he was. She knew he was worried about meeting her mother for the first time. She felt just as panicked when she met his family, so she knew how it felt to be on the other end of the meeting.

"Will Kang Dae be there?" Yoongi asked her.

"I'm not sure. He started working at the university, so he's not there as frequently. He might be since I called Mom, and gave a heads up that I'm visiting. It's been a while since I've come home, so I'm sure Hye called and told Kang Dae."

"Who's Kang Dae?" Jungkook asked.

"He's her unoffical brother," Jin said, "Her brother's best friend." He clarified for the confused Jungkook.

"You've never mentioned to your mother that you were dating?" Yoongi questioned.

"I mentioned before we went out on tour that I was seeing someone, but didn't give too much detail. She didn't ask many questions, just if he's good to me, and for me to bring him over when the tour was over," Seo-yeon glanced at Jin, "I think she assumes I'm dating one of the crew members."

Jin sighed heavily. Her mother was in for a surprise. She was most likely expecting a hard working crew staff to walk through the door with her daughter. Someone with a stable, and non-complicated job. A career that would not put her daughter's safety at risk. 'I've got my work cut out for me,' he thought.

"Yun-yun, will she be against you dating an idol?" Jungkook asked, sincerely concerned for Jin.

"I honestly don't know. I've never brought a boyfriend home. I've never really dated..."she avoided eye contact, embarrassed.

All three men exchanged looks of surprise. They hadn't expected to hear that Seo-yeon didn't have many boyfriends, as she was an attractive woman, and very friendly. Not only this, but the fact that she's never introduced a man to her mother was huge. Bringing Jin home was a large jump in their relationship, and this would not go unnoticed by Seo-yeon's family.

"I'm honored to be given this opportunity to meet them," Jin confidently spoke, and reached for her hands.

The atmosphere calmed slightly, and they began to discuss other topics. Each trying to push the thought of the meeting to the side.

**3 hours later**

They arrived at the beach house, and unloaded. Jin assisted the others while Seo-yeon inspected the living room. She smiled at the memory of the night she and Kang Dae ate there. Her smile widened, remembering her first view of Jin's face. She didn't tell him then, but she was awestruck at his handsome features. She had felt her pulse increase, and she found it excruciatingly difficult to make eye contact with him that night. How she did, she still can't explain it.

"We unloaded everything," Jin interrupted her daydream. She welcomed his presence and willingly took his hand in hers.

"Let's go see your family," he stated.

Bidding them well wishes, the others waved as they drove off.

**Park home**

The moment Jin had been anticipating finally arrived. They sat in the car, starring at the small shop. It had been closed to welcome Seo-yeon home. They resided in the upstairs living area. Another car was parked in front of the building, which Seo recognized as Kang Dae's.

"You ready?" Seo-yeon playfully asked Jin.

He nodded determinedly, "Let's do this!"

They exited the car, and entered her home. They could hear the clatter of dishes, and voices as they entered the living room. They stood, watching her mother, Hye and Kang Dae setting up the living room coffee table with various snacks and drinks. It was very obvious that her mother knew she'd be bringing a guest. A man to be more specific.

Kang Dae was the first to notice them. His eyes rounded instantly when he realized it was Jin she had brought home.

"Hyung Jin?!" He gleefully exclaimed. He still respected Jin, and fondly remembered the night at the beach house. He didn't expect that Seo-yeon and Jin would reunite in Seoul.

Seo-yeon's mother and brother stood in puzzlement at the Kang Dae's greeting. They were stunned that he knew Seo's guest, who they knew had to be her boyfriend.

"Hye, this is Jin that I told you about. The one I said Seo and I met months ago at the beach," he addressed both Hye and his mother.

"Oh!" Hye gasped having remembered teasing his sister about her potential boyfriend, "Yun-yun, you said he was just a friend."

"Hye!" Seo-yeon groaned in embarrassment, "Mom, this is Kim Seok-Jin. My boyfriend."

Jin bowed respectfully to her mother. She hadn't said anything during the exchanges, but stared curiously at him. She showed signs of surprise that they had met months ago, and somehow had met again.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Park," he said.

"Yes, yes," she agreed, "Wow, you're very handsome."

Seo-yeon grinned at Jin, knowing how that comment must please him. His ears turned a shade of pink, and he laughingly accepted her compliment.

They all sat down around the table, and set to get to know Jin more.

"How did you two run into each other again?" Kang Dae wasted no time asking the question they were all wondering. It was such a small world that they would run into each other the moment she moved to Seoul.

"Mom, I need to explain what Jin does for a living so that how we reunited in Seoul makes sense," Seo-yeon explained.

"Seo," Jin interjected, "Please, allow me to explain."

She nodded in agreement. She was aware of the bombshell that would be dropped, and it was only fair that he explain it.

"Mrs. Park. I am actually Jin of a kpop group named BTS," he proudly state. He was not ashamed of his band. Although being an idol might cause some challenges for their relationship, he did not feel his career warranted shame. Seo-yeon supported this thought through every action she's executed the past months.

"BTS?" Mrs. Park questioned.

"That's where I've seen you!" Hye exclaimed. He pulled out his phone, and quickly searched video streams. He found a music video and showed his mother. She faced Jin in shock. He wasn't any ordinary crew member, he was the very star of the tour. She had not anticipated this.

"How did you two get involved?" she asked in confusion. How could her daughter meet such a famous idol. One that travels abroad, and is highly praised in South Korea.

Jin began the entire account of how their relationship formed. They all sat quietly as he explained, with small interjections from Seo-yeon. All of this leading to the current situation. They told them about Ae-Cha's exposure of their relationship. Not wanting to hide anything from her mother, Jin included the fan base and the needed press conference.

The room remained dead quiet. Kang Dae and Hye were stunned by the past events that their older sister had experienced. They were happy that the other BTS members stepped up as her brothers during their absence. They couldn't deny the fear they held for her safety, but they wanted her to be happy.

"Seo, you know I'll support whatever you decide to do," Kang Dae vowed.

"It's going to be tough. I'll be there for you so don't hesitate to call for me," Hye seconded.

Jin and Seo-yeon smiled at the two. They welcomed the comforting words, but their nerves were on edge, as her mother had yet spoken.

"Mom?" Seo hesitantly stammered.

"I'm sorry, Seo-yeon," Jin felt his heart stop. He knew what was coming next, but he still couldn't anticipate the pain that followed. "I can't allow this."

"Mom," Seo-yeon squeaked.

"Seok-Jin, I'm sure you love my daughter. I can't deny that you two have strong feelings towards each other, but it's too dangerous. I'm sorry, but I can't allow my daughter to be put at risk of harm."
