Treasca's eyes kept flicking back and forth between Thalon and Brenton. The two dragons could not be more different. Thalon began chattering about nonsense nearly non-stop over lunch. Brenton on the other hand sat like a quite ball of fury, and discontent.
"You know I do not see Brenton's claim on you anywhere. Have you two not actually been wed yet?" Thalon said eyes locked on hers back turned on Brenton. Treasca opened her mouth to answer, but in a flash of sudden violence Brenton's fist came lashing out at Thalon's head. Thalon caught Brenton's fist without even turning to look at him.
"I will take that as a no." Thalon said grin growing even larger. "Brenton, you really must be more careful of your belongings. Anyone with a mind to could claim her at this rate." He released Brenton's hand, and stood offering Treasca a hand. "Why don't we go for a walk? The air in here has grown heavy." Thalon turned toward Brenton eyes shining with laughter. She stood not really sure what else to do. She had been entertaining a thought since she saw how much Thalon seemed to bother Brenton perhaps she could use this to her advantage. She smiled and batted her eyes at Thalon and said. "It would be my pleasure my lord." Brenton looked ready to kill someone, but still he remained sullenly silent.
Once they where out of sight, Thalon leaned in, and whispered in her ear.
"I see what you are doing little pet. I think it maybe a very cruel trick you play."
His tongue flicked out curling around her ear. It was forked like a snake, and made her shudder. Thalon stood back looking down at her. He cupped the back of her head in his large hand, and moved as if to kiss her.
Brenton was just suddenly there the had Thalon by the throat. Delyn took Treasca gently by the arm backing her up a bit, so she wouldn't be hurt if there was violence, and judging by the ice white fire coming from Brenton's eyes it was looking likely.
"You have done nothing, but abuse my hospitality Thalon. You forget you may be a Dragon Lord, but I am king. Test my patients just one more time, and I will teach you your place." Brenton's voice was deadly calm ice crackled on Thalons neck.
"You have not claimed her my King. I just assumed she was not that important to you. I thought to take her off your hands." Thalon said spreading his hands wide in surrender.
