Aftermath

I finished the story on him and it made the headlines two weeks in a row! The story got around America, reporters and news channels 'young boy drives off a cliff' and 'the tragic downfall' were all over the news but it was my story that made headlines, 'The Killer Phone'.

The Killer Phone

By: Cassandra Blacksmith

Jack Hendrick was a 15 year old boy, who unfortunately lost his

life because of a phone. The 15 yr old boy was riding with his friend

Sutton Mathews, the driver, and Louis Ken. 16 year old Sutton was

the driver of the off road buggy with young

Louis in the back, and Jack in the front passenger seat.

It seems none of the boys werewearing seatbelts during the

accident. Apparently minutes before the accident the boys engaged

in a twitter war with a fellow classmate who wishes to remain

anonymous. When Jack began to live stream himself and the two

two other passenger's, throwing threats at his followers. Sutton

Mathews egged the behavior along with his friend Louis.

The lack of attention to the road due to devices caused the driver

to miss a bump on the track, and the buggy proceeded to roll

forward several times before finally flipping off a cliff. The buggy

with its passengers, descended over 500ft down into a uncharted

river. Unfortunately there were no survivors, and the search for the

bodies proved a hard task. Mainly because due to the rough waters

and sharp rocks, the boys bodies were ripped apart and carried all

over the river.

The whole tragedy was caught live on young Jacks twitter page

with over 2,000 people watching at the time but netted over 10

million views, before police had the video taken down. Due to this

tragedy, many parents have removed their teens phones with great

reason. I think we should take this whole situation as a warning. To

NEVER use any kind of device or distraction while operating a

vehicle. Stay safe out there.
