Blake Sable Hogwarts Life

BACKGROUNDYou got your letter on your birthday, in your home by the forest. You always knew you were going to go to Hogwarts. Your mother Wallis always told you stories of how she and your father got into all sorts of trouble. Your father always told you of how they fell in love. The same stories every time, but you never got sick of them. You loved the idea of being a witch, and wanted to be the best one there could be. When Finn went to Hogwarts two years before you did, he taught you all of the simple spells he had learned and you got the hang of them pretty easily. He always used to joke that you could be in Ravenclaw, you were so smart. The only thing you had trouble with, was Transfiguration. You could never wrap your head around it, so Finn decided to let that one slide. You and your brother are extremely close. He is very protective of you and would do anything for you. You both love each other dearly and never get into fights. But you did always have a temper, trouble keeping your mouth shut and speaking before thinking. You hoped that going to school would help with that.

FIRST YEARYou hold Finn's hand as you excitedly board the Hogwarts Express. As you walk down the isles, Finn finds his friends. You never had a thing for tagging along with him, so you bravely venture out to find your own compartment. Soon you discover one with only one girl in it. She has long brown hair tumbling down her slim shoulders and bright blue eyes. You slide open the door and smile at her."Do you mind? All the other ones are full."She smiles at you. "Please, sit.""I'm Blake." You hold out your hand and she firmly shakes it."Zoe."And then you and Zoe become best friends.

When you're in line for the sorting hat ceremony, you hold Zoe's hand and share some inside jokes you made on the train. Zoe is extremely smart, cunning and outgoing, very much like yourself. She wants to be a chaser on the Quidditch team like you, but she is much kinder than you are. Probably one of the sweetest people you have ever met. With all of the fun with Zoe, you almost miss Harry Potter. You had no idea that he would be attending Hogwarts. When he sits on the chair, he makes eye contact with you. You quickly break it and get over the fact that he is a celebrity. You never had much of a thing for fame. Then Zoe goes up. You wait nervously as she is called into Slytherin. You smile and hug her before she makes her way to the table. You know you are going to be in Slytherin as well. In fact, when you sit on the chair, the Sorting Hat doesn't even touch your head before it shouts your house name.

That evening you can't sleep. So you sneak out of the girl's dormitory and sit by the blazing fire in the common room. "What are you doing up?" You jump to see a blonde haired boy sitting in a chair behind you.He has the bluest eyes you have ever seen and an aura about him that you can't quite comprehend. "Can't sleep." You reply."Neither. Never had a thing for school." He smirks at you.You remain silent, turning back to the burning embers. He gets up and sits by your side on the floor."I'm Draco Malfoy.""Blake Sable." You stare into his icy blue eyes once more."I'm sure we'll meet again Blake Sable. In fact, I'm counting on it."And then he leaves.

That month, your grades go up by a mile, but the only thing holding them back from excellence, is Transfiguration. One day you're in class, in your assigned seats. You're making eye contact with Draco once again, always looking over your shoulder to see what he's doing. Never quite concentrating on your work. You'r sitting with Hermione Granger, the smartest girl you've ever met. You've never really talked to her, not until that day."Miss Sable, your grades are getting lower and lower in my class." Professor McGonagall quietly tells you at your desk. You sigh heavily and look up at her. "I know McGonagall, it's hard that's all."She puckers her lips and sighs."I would suggest a tutor Blake, or you will fail my class." She turns on her heel and walks off.You put my head in your arms and give up. Transfiguration isn't that important anyway."I could help you if you want." You hear a quiet voice ask.You turn your head sideways."You will?"Hermione looks at you with wide brown eyes and you see much kindness in them. For a Gryffindor."Yeah, we can study together. It won't take long to teach you."You sit up. "You really will help me?"She nods, like she doesn't believe it herself."Thanks." You say.

After classes that day, you have your first lesson with Hermione. You see her outside with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley at a table.Without thinking you walk up to the table and put your books down. They all look up at you and you stare them all in the eye."Are you ready Blake?" Hermione says, and gestures to the seat next to Harry."I thought it was just gonna be us two." You say."Yeah, but they'e my friends. Can't they stay?""No?" You say. Again, without thinking. You see Draco and his two goons stalk across the lawn and you try to hide your face. You don't want him to find out your sitting with Harry Potter, the boy everyone hates in the Slytherin house."Okay. See you guys later." She says, and they both walk off silentlyAnd then Hermione starts her lesson.Whilst teaching you Transfiguration, you discover that Hermione is actually very funny and confident in her learning. You find yourself actually starting to like a Gryffindor, something you never thought you would do.From that day forward, Hermione keeps on tutoring you and somehow you guys become best friends. She meets Zoe and they instantly bond. You knew they would, they share all the same qualities, just not the same houses. The three of you then make your own group, the smartest, prettiest, most popular and most diverse set of friends anybody could ever have.

You and Draco constantly run into each other when you can't sleep, and end up having late night chats, slowly bonding overtime. "I don't understand why you hang out with that Mud-blood Granger." He says one night."Watch it Draco." You say warningly. "Alright, but you do realise she hangs out with Potter." You laugh at his screwed up face."I've never talked to him." He looks somewhat relieved."Are you trying out for Quidditch?" He changes the subject."We're too young." You reply."My father can make that change. Just tell me what you want and I'll make it happen." He smirks. So you and Zoe then become Chasers on the Slytherin team, and Draco becomes the Seeker. At your first game, you play against Gryffindor. They end up winning, with Harry almost choking on the Golden Snitch, but you have a great time with Zoe and Draco. He eventually stopped moaning about it being an unfair game.

You, Hermione and Zoe are walking down the halls when you run into the headmaster, Professor Dumbledore. Hermione and Zoe both greet him politely. You stay silent until he regards you."Miss Sable, how are you?""Yeah, all good Dumbledore." You say without thinking. Again.Luckily he just chuckles and offers you a sweet. Then you're in Potions. Professor Snape is your favourite teacher, and you love how he really hands it to Harry. Even if sometimes he doesn't deserve it.You and Draco somehow become partners. Snape especially favours him and you get the special treatment as well. He even manages to let some of your snide remarks slide. But one day, when your in Potions, you see Draco planning to hex Hermione. You slap him on the hand."Draco!" You exclaim."What?""You can't. She's my best friend and I won't let you." "Fine then. I will." Says Pansy Parkinson from in front of you — she hexes Hermione's potion so that it splashes all over her.You stand up so angrily that your chair falls to the ground. You pull our your wand and jinx Pansy so bad that she ends up with humungous boils all over her face.Zoe is right beside you, pointing her wand at Pansy with a determined look on her face because nobody messes with Zoe or her friends.Everybody laughs so hard that even Snape smiles a little.Pansy rushes to the hospital wing and you and Zoe help clean Hermione up.Draco looks at you with a hint of proudness in his eye from that day forward. But you, Zoe and Hermione are now sworn enemies with Pansy, and are constantly bickering.

In that year, you get so many detentions for speaking and acting out of line that you can't keep track. But your grades are still going steadily and even Transfiguration is above average, thanks to Hermione's constant tutoring. The three of you are still the best of friends, and you're so happy you found them. Finn and you still talk constantly, but you're not as dependant of him as before. You are still cold with Harry and Ron, but you try not to tease them. You and Draco keep up your nightly chats, and you end up being great friends. When you find out that Harry Potter got the Philosophers stone and is in hospital, you go up to see him reluctantly. But you know it's the right thing to do. You guess that Hermione is finally getting to you. When you visit him, he's awake but alone, surrounded by flowers, cards and more extravagant gifts. He looks at you when you walk down the isle and you shove your hands in your pockets."I just wanted to say.. well done Potter."He smiles."Thanks Blake."

SECOND YEARYou slip through the wall with Finn beside you, telling you all about his new girlfriend. You grin and joke with him, but before you know it, the ground is rushing up to meet you. Pansy Parkinson had knocked you down. She has her wand pointed at your face, with a disgusted look on her own. You're surprised and taken off guard with the sudden attack, but you quickly pull out your own wand and stand up swiftly. Your brother has his wand out as well, a step in front of you. You feel a sharp pain in your side, and a see scorching hole in your robes. You snap your head back to Pansy. She had burned you. You glared at her, and she knew what was coming — you almost forgot the severe burning below your ribs. You disarmed her, using the charm Finn had taught you over the summer and then knocked her back, so she fell on the ground. A crowd was gathering, but not a teacher in sight. You glanced at Finn and he grinned at you, thinking exactly what you were. You felt a burst of déjà vu as hundreds of boils appeared all over her body. Waves of laughter filled the train station as she watched one pop in horror. Since both you and Finn hexed her, it was twice as bad as last time. She stormed off crying. You high-fived your brother and grinned. "Not a bad way to start off the year." He chuckled. When you scan the crowd, you find Draco and make eye contact with him. He's laughing with his friends. You saw he had gotten taller over the summer. The crowd disperses, Finn joins his friends and Draco stays with you."That was amazing Blake."You shrug and grin."How was your summer?" He asks, with a glimmer in his icy blue eyes. You catch yourself staring and quickly look away."It was okay. Not much happened without Pansy around to keep me on my toes."He smiles. "I'll catch you tonight Blake." And he wanders off. You watch him walk away, and see him look back at you.You find Zoe and Hermione, and join them. You all hug and talk about your summers. "I heard you got in a fight with Pansy again." Zoe said excitedly. "Did you screw her up?" A sigh from Hermione. "You shouldn't get in trouble all the time Blake. It's not good, what if you get expelled?""It wasn't my fault." You tell them the story — you almost forgot about the pain in you side. You gingerly take off your robe and examine it. It had burned right through your shirt and was scarring your skin."You should go to the nurse." Zoe says, eyeing it up. Hermione nods. You pull your robe back on and stalk down the corridor once more. A first year bounds out of nowhere and hits you where you got burnt. You wince in pain, it must be worse then you expected."Watch it." You snap. That's when you run into Draco again. He smirks at you. "Hey." He sees you holding your side and lifts your hand. When he see's the burn his eyes flash."Pansy did this to you?"You stare at him for a moment, recognising the anger twisted on his face."Yeah, but it's no big deal, she look's worse." You say, disregarding it.He continues to stare at your burnt skin, and you can see he is forming a plan. He murmurs something that you can't hear, and before you can ask him about it, he's gone.

When you get to Hogwarts, your burn is healing, but still sore to the touch. You sit through what you think is a torturous welcome back speech, and then eat dinner with Zoe. You don't see Draco or Pansy anywhere in sight. That night, you go downstairs and see Draco for the first time after the train. You sit beside him by the fire."What did you do?" You ask apprehensively. He sighs and plays with his hands."Well, let's just say Pansy isn't going to bother you anymore." You stare at Draco and swell with pride. "Does it hurt?" He says, almost shyly. You smile and shake your head. "Thanks Draco."And then you talk for hours.

The next day you're in Charms. You've talked back to Professor Flitwick twice in three minutes and he warns you that next time there will be detention. As you find Charms boring and easy, you don't pay attention to what the teacher is saying. In fact, your talking with Zoe and forget about class altogether. "Yeah, Filch's cat got stunned or something.""Really?""And Harry found her, hanging by her tail." She continues. You shake your head. "Something about Potter.""He's not all bad. For a Gryffindor."You both giggle."Hermione was telling me it was connected to the Chamber of Secrets somehow." You frown, thinking of the legend your mother told you.The Basilisk, hidden in the Chamber of Secrets, could kill with a single glance. "Girls, I do hope you are getting on with your work?" Flitwick asks, snapping you out of your thoughts."Yeah yeah." You say dismissively, still thinking of the Basilisk.

Soon it is the first Quidditch game of the year, and you're determined to win. You got really good last year and practiced over the summer with Finn, so you are feeling especially confident. Your playing against Hufflepuff as well, and they don't put up much of a fight. You and Zoe shuffle excitedly into the changing rooms, adrenaline pumping through your veins. When Slytherin are called out, Draco stands beside you."Let's win this." He says and smiles at you. Then you fly. Zoe, you and Marcus Flint, the three chasers, speed towards the middle of the pitch and face Hufflepuff. And the game begins. You fly up first on the Nimbus that Draco's father gifted the entire team with and grab the quaffle. You lean forward and soon you're in front of everyone else. You see a bludger hurtling towards you and swoop down, missing it just in time. You see Marcus below you and drop the ball down to him. The wind is pulling at your ashy blonde hair and you feel a surge of happiness rush through you.Marcus then flies forward and you and Zoe guard him. The quaffle is deflected by the keeper but you catch the rebound and send it flying straight though the goal, earning Slytherin ten points. You hear cheers and you smile. At the end of the game, Slytherin won, with Draco catching the Golden Snitch. That night you both talk about the game. "You brought it home Draco." You say, smiling. He smiles back at you and your both caught in a moment, locked in each others eyes. You grin and go off to bed.

When half the year is gone, you find out that someone named Colin Creevey faced the same fate as Filch's cat and is now petrified in the hospital wing."We should go and give him something." Hermione tells you before class one day. You screw up your face. "Why? I don't know the kid.""Because it's nice and the right thing to do."You sigh and trudge up to the tower with your two best friends. You see Ron and Harry there, looking over his bed."Hey guys." Hermione greets them, placing flowers on the table. You see that Colin's face is frozen in a state of fear, and he's clutching on to an old and burnt camera. You frown at the sight and look away. "Strange isn't it." Harry regards, standing beside you. You nod. "Very."

You're hanging out with Hermione and Zoe in the courtyard one afternoon when Draco and his friends stalk up to you. "Blake. Kingsley. Mud-blood." He says, greeting you. They all laugh. You frown. Zoe gasps and Hermione looks at the floor."Draco!" You say firmly."What? Just saying the truth. She's a filthy Mud-blood. I don't know why you hang out with her." A crowd is forming around you. You pull out your wand and point it at Draco."Stop." You say warningly. He stares at you for a long moment. Indecisive and hesitant. He then looks at the many people surrounding you and his friends edging him on."Why should I? She's a buck-toothed, talentless Mud-blood who shouldn't even be here.""Can't say I never gave you a chance Malfoy." You say. Then you jinx him, forcing him back. You flick your wand at Draco, and do the Knee-Reversal hex, making him drop to the ground and shout out.Zoe walks up to him."Nobody talks about our friends like that."And she walks off with Hermione under her arm. You shake your head at him and stalk off. You and Draco just had your first ever fight.

That night you lie in your bed, wide awake, wishing that you had Draco to talk to. You're tempted to run downstairs and sit with him but hold back. He deserves what he got. But you can't help but miss him, with only a few hours to do so.

The next day you stride towards Dumbledore's office, planning to talk to him about the rumours going around school. On the way, you bump into Hermione, who just got back from the library. When you explain what you're doing, she comes along."I'm quite curious myself actually." She says. You see Dumbledore standing outside his office, talking with McGonagall. When they see you, she walks off."Hello girls." He greets, his eyes crinkling with a smile."Hey Dumbledore.""Evening Professor." He smiles. "What can I do for you.""I want to know what's going on with school." You say. Hermione glances at you. "What she means to ask Professor, is what is going to happen now that Colin has been.. you know.""Ah yes," He says, his tone grave. "We will help Mr. Creevey, but the rest I cannot say. We will decide what to do in the future. Now you girls better run off, and get to your classes." Then you two head off to your separate lessons."Wait, can you come to the bathroom with me?" Hermione stops in front of one and you push open the door.Hermione washes her hands and you two share a mirror. "Hey, I'm really sorry about Draco the other day." you say.She waves her hand. "No big deal. You don't need to apologise anyway. You were a good friend."You grin to yourself. "I guess you're rubbing off on me a little." She grins."I think I've got a pimple." She says, changing the subject. You examine her face and laugh."Not as bad as Pansy's." She tries not to smile and then you both burst out laughing together. You both smile into the mirror. But the grin quickly turns into a face of horror when you see two glowing yellow eyes behind you.And everything turns black.

When you wake up, you're in the hospital wing. The sun is glowing through the curtains and it reminds you of the two eyes you saw. You shiver and see a bouquet of flowers beside you. Cards and sweets are scattered around it and you feel your eyebrows knit together in confusion. You sit up a little too quickly and clutch your head. "Blake!" You hear a voice exclaim. You feel arms around you and open your eyes to see Draco hugging you. You smile and hug him back, wrapping your arms around his neck. When he finally lets go he holds your hands."I am so sorry Blake. I was pressured by the crowd and I was an idiot. Please, please forgive me." He says quietly. That's the first time you have ever heard Draco apologise. You hear a faint, "Aww."Draco whips around. "Shut it first year." He snaps. He turns back to you and his angry face slowly dissolves back into an apologetic one.Almost nervously he adds, "I couldn't sleep without you.""How long was I out for?""Twenty five days." Draco sighs. "Oh Draco." You say, feeling his pain. You couldn't sleep for one night, he couldn't sleep for twenty four. You see the big dark circles under his eyes. He brushes off your concern."I'm fine. Now." He says."What happened?""The Chamber of Secrets had been opened." He says, looking into your stormy eyes. "The Basilisk had been petrifying mud-.. muggle-borns. With reflections. You were caught with Granger."You nod. The two yellow eyes had belonged to the Basilisk. You feel his thumb tracing a pattern along the back of your hand and you smile."I'm fine now."He returns the grin. "I know. After that, Potter saved the day again, killing the stupid thing and closing the Chamber for good."You nod. "Is Hermione okay?" You say, suddenly worried and jumping up."She's fine, she woke up a few days ago." He says, setting you down again. "I made everyone get out when they said you were gonna wake up. I wanted to apologise."You feel a fluttering in your stomach. "Thank you Draco."

Later that day, you get let out of the hospital and Draco leads you to the Great Hall to see your friends and have something to eat. When you enter, Hermione and Zoe come running up to you and you all hug, spinning around in circles and catching everyone's attention. "I was so worried! You were the last to wake up Blake!" Zoe exclaimed, mid-hug. Hermione apologised for getting you petrified in the first place and that it was all her fault, but you quickly told her otherwise. Draco went to sit with his friends, but you knew you would see him tonight. Harry and Ron came to see you as well, wishing you well."I'm glad you're better Blake." Harry said.Out of the corner of your eye you saw Draco glaring at Harry and keeping a close eye on you. You smiled."Thanks Potter. For closing it." You say quickly, and then walk off with your two best friends. When you eat, you catch Dumbledore's eye and he raises his glass to you. You nod in return. Teachers and other students come up and give their condolences to Hermione and you, and before you know it, your second year at Hogwarts has come to a close.

THIRD YEARYou're on the train with Zoe, both of you cuddled up, trying to fight the cold weather and eating sweets. Zoe's summer had been exciting, filled with trips all over the world and meeting famous wizards, while yours had been relaxing and free, which was a nice change to your past two hectic school years. Then Zoe tell's you something important."I think I have a crush on Cormac McLaggen"You stare at her with your mouth open. "No you don't.""Yes I do Blake, Harry introduced us when I was with Hermione."But before you could talk any further, the train hurtled to a shuddering stop. The lights droned out and an eerie coolness spread across the Hogwarts Express. Screams echoed up and down the passageway and you poke your head out to see what is going on. Draco comes running down the isle to you and quickly gets into your compartment."Just checking." He mutters quietly. You all sit down."What's happening?" Zoe asks.Draco shakes his head. "I don't know. But it's not just a power outage."You look out the rain splattered window to see a fog surrounding the train. You frown. "Guys.." Zoe whispers. You felt it too. A shiver ran up your spine and sorrow clutched your heart. Finn had told you about these things. But you had never seen one before. Not until now.You hung onto Draco tightly and pressed your body against his side. He lay his arm over you protectively and awaited the creature. It glided through your compartment, darkness trailing behind it. A Dementor. It's wispy black figure floated out the door, but not before sparking sadness in everyone's hearts, replaying horrible memories from their past. For you, it was when Finn had almost died. He had been practicing a spell unauthorised, with only you, a little girl, watching. He electrocuted himself, withering around on the floor, with you screaming and crying out for help. And then your mind was clear again. You breathed out and after a few minutes, the lights turned back on the the train started moving again. You quickly untangled yourself from Draco and tried to look nonchalant."Whoa." Zoe said, and we all shivered. We found out from Hermione that the Dementor's had been after Sirius Black, who had escaped from Azkaban, and they connected him to Harry. Draco stayed with you and Zoe for the rest of the journey.

The next week went by without incident. Students were still panicking about the Dementor's invading the train but everything went back to normal.Until it was rumoured that Sirius Black was in the castle. Dementor's now surrounded the school boarders and curfew was made in an earlier hour. Students were to travel with teachers everywhere they went and to never be alone. You, Zoe and Hermione felt trapped with all of the commotion going on, but still obeyed the rules. Or, tried to.Draco and your nightly chats still happened regularly, occurring more often than usual."Are you freaked out by all the Dementor's?" He asks you one night, and you can't help but notice how much he's grown over the summer."Kind of. But I know we're safe."He's absent-mindedly playing with your long hair, and staring right into your eyes. You smile and close them.

The next day you have your first Divination lesson. You and Zoe think it's a waste of time and sit at the back, talking and laughing. You create a game that whenever Professor Trelawney says, "I can see," you call out a random word or phrase.Eventually you get everyone joining in. Well, all the Slytherin's anyway. And everyone's mind is off Black and the Dementors for a change. The next class is Defence Against The Dark Arts with a new teacher, Professor Lupin. He teaches you about Boggarts, which display your biggest fear. This class got you a little more excited then Trelawney's. You, Draco and Zoe went to the back of the line so you didn't have to show everyone your weaknesses. You just talk for the entire lesson as well, and Draco and you continue your chat from last night.

In Transfiguration you get a detention from McGonagall. Hermione shakes her head at you.You frown at her in confusion. "When did you get here?" It feels like she's never around anymore.Zoe is always trying to get Cormac's attention, so you never see her anymore either. You feel like this year is going downhill very fast. But it soon gets better when everyone get's to go to Hogsmeade. Hermione, you and Zoe all travel over together and get a drink in the Three Broomsticks. You all talk and laugh and it feels somewhat normal again. In fact, the time goes by so fast that you miss the call to return to school."No, no, this can't be happening!" Hermione says in a panic."It's fine! We'll just walk back or something." Zoe says, peering out the window. It was pitch black."What time is it?" You ask, confused."I don't know." Hermione sighs. "But we better see if we can send an owl or something."And then you all come out of your corner and see that the entrance doors are locked. The man behind the bar looks up."I wouldn't go out there if I were you." He says, cleaning a glass. "Why not?" You ask."Dementor's patrolling the streets. I'm putting this inn on lockdown."You all stare at him."Who else is here?" Zoe asks with wide eyes."People are upstairs, but I run this place. I'm Tal. You can stay here tonight.""We can't sir!" Hermione cries. "We go to Hogwarts, but we missed the call back to school!"You can see that your friends are getting worked up. You walk to the bar and quietly talk to him."Do you have an owl or something?" You whisper. He nods. "Yes, you can use it. I guess." Tal answers hesitantly. You all follow him to very small room with only one owl in it.You quickly scribble a note to Draco. "The teachers will kill us if they find out." You explain."They will eventually Blake." Zoe says, looking over your shoulder."Draco will keep it a secret." You say confidently, finishing your letter and tying it to the owl. You explained your situation, asked him to cover for you three and not to try and get you. It's too dangerous. You try to stay calm as the owl hoots and fly's out the window. Tal quickly closes it. "What do we do now?" Hermione asks. They both look to you."Well," You start nervously. "We only have a little money. But we are going to stay here tonight."He nods in agreement. "It's fine, it's fine, um." He scratched his head."We're sorry Tal, you must be under a lot of pressure." Hermione consoles him.The Dementor's were sprung without warning, and danger surrounded Hogsmeade. You, Hermione and Zoe all squeeze into one bedroom at the inn that night, too afraid to be left alone. You close the curtains as soon as you get in and lock the door. Zoe sighs and slumps on the bed. "We're stuck at the Three Broomsticks." She summaries gloomily."Yes thank you for that." You say sarcastically. She holds her hands up in a depressed surrender. "We should of used that owl to get a teachers help. Anything could happen!" Hermione said, pacing the room. You lean against the wall."We'll be fine. We have our wands and we'll help each other. Won't we?" Zoe says. You nod. You all sit on the bed and try to talk without jumping at every sound and movement in the room. Then you get hungry and collect all of the packaged food the inn supplied. "I miss school." Hermione declared, biting into a sandwich. "Don't worry, we're not missing any work." Zoe says. "Think of this as a sleepover." "On a school night!" Hermione exasperates. "What about classes in the morning?" "We'll be out of here by then." You say with confidence. A knock on the door makes you all jump. You approach it quietly and look through the peep-hole. You open it to see Tal holding a letter. "This came for you." He says and hurries off. You lock the door and sit on the bed whilst reading it.

Blake, Don't worry, I covered for you. Nobody suspected a thing at dinner, I told them you were studying. Get back as soon as you can or I'm coming to get you tomorrow at five. Be ready.Be safe please.-Draco

"Draco's coming at five tomorrow." You summarise, pushing the parchment into your pocket. And for the rest of the night you all talk, finally forgetting about the Dementor's. You're having so much fun with your best friends, telling secrets and sharing stories, that the time flies by.But when your best friends go to sleep, you await a sleepless night without Draco. You could never go to sleep easily, even before Hogwarts and you didn't knew why. You've never told anyone, only Draco. Maybe you have insomnia, but you've never been tested. The chats with Draco had become so relaxing and fun that they helped with your restlessness, and whenever you two said goodnight and went to your separate dormitories, you went to sleep with no problem. Your talks had become such a habit, that now you couldn't sleep without it. You sit on the couch and try to get some rest.

You're awake before five, you must of gotten a few hours of sleep. You see Hermione and Zoe, passed out in the bed. You smile and stretch. Then you hesitantly open the curtains. The sun is shining, the darkness is gone and there are people in the street. You still feel the cold though, maybe the Dementor's are still here. The clock shows that you have half an hour before Draco comes, and you decide that it's safe enough to go. You wake your best friends up and they groggily get out of bed. Zoe pulls together the leftover food and you snack on that until five o'clock comes around. You stare out the window, expecting Draco any minute. But he never shows. Ten minutes go past and you look at the other girls in concern. But then you hear a quiet knock on your window. A hand appears and your eyes widen in shock. Draco's head then pops out from nowhere, the rest of his body transparent."The Invisibility cloak!" Hermione explains. "I can't believe Harry would let him use it!"You all hurry downstairs, thank Tal and leave quickly. You meet Draco in an alley. Two Nimbuses are propped against the wall and he hands the cloak to Hermione. He hugs you quickly, aware of the other girls."Fastest way here." He says."Thanks Draco." Hermione says. Zoe agrees with wide eyes. You smile at him and he grins at you.You can't all fit under the cloak, especially with broomsticks, so Zoe and Hermione wear it, leaving your and Draco exposed. They fly together, with Zoe controlling it. They're gone as soon as they get on, with Hermione worried they'll be late.Which leaves you and Draco alone. You give him a huge hug and he wraps his arms around you. "Thank you."And then you fly, with Draco in front and your arms around his waist. You go higher up so you won't be seen as easily and the wind whips your long hair back. You smile into Draco's shoulder and you know your going to get to school easily. You were wrong. All of a sudden darkness surrounds you. Cold swamps your body, and fog forms. You clutch on to Draco tighter and he leans forward, propelling the broom faster. But you can't escape the Dementor's fast enough. One comes right in front of your broom, forcing Draco to swoop down, almost knocking you both off. "Hang on Blake!" He yells through the wind. You can see the castle looming in the near distance, and race towards it, not caring who saw you now. The Dementor's follow you, and you feel like all joy is being sucked out of your soul. You cough and get a feeling like someone's strangling you.Your heading so fast into the school grounds that you can't stop, the broom malfunctioning from the Dementor's presence. You and Draco slam straight into the Whomping Willow. You scream out in pain as you feel something impale your arm, you look down to see a shattered piece of broomstick wood. You're stuck in its tangled branches. You feel it vibrating underneath you, getting ready to attack. You clamber along a trunk, spluttering and coughing, and feel blood trickle down your face. Your vision blurs, but you know you must get out of the tree. You whip around to see Draco doing the same thing and you share a panicked glance. You reach out to hold his hand and he takes out his wand. "Accio, Nimbus 2002!" He yells. You feel something hard smack you on the back and scream out in pain, almost falling out. You look down to see the ground is very far down. Blood is gushing from Draco's leg, dowsing you in it. You feel faint as you cough blood. The broomstick Draco summoned came just as the tree started to shake vigorously and spin around. You both fall onto it with sheer luck, and it flies away from the tree. Your hanging onto it with just your fingertips, but can't much longer. The Nimbus swoops down and you fall with Draco crashing down beside you. Above you, a swirl of Dementor's are circling you, and you feel so cold that you uncontrollably shiver. Draco and you are sprawled on the floor, in a puddle of your mixed blood — and when you try and sit up to cry out in pain. But when a Dementor comes down on Draco and you see him sprawl in pain, you jump up and pull out your wand. Your brain feels fuzzy, but you remember a spell Finn taught you last summer. You take a deep breath, but before you can cast it, one of many Dementor's glide towards you and takes your head in it's boney hands. You drop down in agony and scream until your voice is hoarse. It soon backs off, but you feel drained and close to death. You grunt in sheer desperation and stand, stumbling. When you see Draco, wheezing beside you, a Dementor coming his way, you look up to the black tornado of them and scream with all your might, thinking of the happiest memory you could.Draco's smiling face, absent-mindedly playing with your hair."EXPECTO PATRONUM!"And a flash of brilliant white light bursts from your wand and forms into a Clouded Leopard. You had never been able to do it until now. You scream as it pounces and chases off every Dementor until there's none. Black specks block your vision, and the last thing you remember is falling beside Draco.

You wake up in the hospital wing again three days later. You're surrounded by people, but can't see them clearly yet. A bed is pushed up beside yours, and you feel someone holding your hand. When your vision clears, you see Draco beside you in his bed, with a sling on one arm, a long bandage on his leg and several wounds on his face.He looks at you and smiles weakly. "Here we are again." You laugh feebly. You look around to see Hermione, Zoe, Harry, Ron, the nurse and some other students you don't recognise."You idiot." Hermione says before hugging you gently with Zoe.You laugh. "I know."Harry stares at you in awe. "You know only a really powerful wizard could of done that?" You shrug and wince."What a way to end the school year." Ron adds. Harry, Ron and Hermione share a glance. You'll find out about it later no doubt.

You find out that Harry saved the day once again, and that Sirius Black is his Godfather. The Dementor's are gone and Hogwarts is back to normal once more. You and Draco make up an excuse that you were being stupid and were practicing Quidditch when the Dementor's chased you into the tree. Nobody was there to say otherwise. You lost one hundred points for Slytherin, but the house championship was already over by then. You both made full recoveries and nobody found out about your night away from school. Before you left with Finn at King's Cross, you said goodbye to your friends, leaving Draco until last."Thank's for an awesome year." You say, giving him a big hug.He smirks at you. "Sorry for almost getting us killed.""It was my fault Draco." He shakes his head."And thank you. For saving us. You really are a powerful witch Blake.""And you are a brave wizard." You say, holding his hands and looking into his icy blue eyes once more before you go home for the summer.

FOURTH YEAR"The Tri-Wizard Tournament is being held at Hogwarts. As you have already met Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, you will know who is competing against us." Dumbledore explains in the Great Hall. You're sitting with Zoe who is eyeing up the Durmstrang boys. You jab her with your elbow."Stop drooling." You joke. "I will if you do." She says, knowing you've been trying to sneak looks at Draco who is sitting near the end of the table. "There is an age limit," he continues, which earns shouts of disappointment for those under the age of seventeen. "But for those of you who are thinking seriously about entering this tournament, you must write your name on a piece of parchment and put it into the Goblet of Fire." He gestures towards the giant cup by the podium."Out of the three students who are worthy enough, whoever wins, gets eternal glory."

"Pity there's an age limit. Or I would of entered.""Oh, for sure." You say sarcastically. Draco pushes you playfully on the shoulder and you laugh. It's around midnight, and you're having your nightly chat. The fire is burning bright and the flames reflect in Draco's eyes which you have been thinking about all summer."It was hard to sleep without you." He says, looking at the fire. You nod in agreement. "Very."The start of the year had crawled by without any accidents or excitement. But now the Tri-wizard tournament has come along, nobody could stop talking about it.

The next week the names are chosen from the goblet. Fleur Delacour, Cedric Diggory, Victor Krum, and Harry Potter. You, Zoe and Hermione all frown at each other, that can't be right. He argues that he didn't put his name in, but is still hauled away with the other champions.Afterwards, Hermione tells you that everybody now hates Harry because they really believe that he put his name in the goblet and got away with it. Even his best friend Ron is angry with him.She sighs and run's off with Zoe, gesturing for you to join."I'll be there in a minute." You say hurriedly when you see Harry walking down the halls. You see him getting pushed and teased by several people in just a few moments. You jog and walk with him, stopping him beside a column. "I believe you Harry." You say. You're starting to feel more comfortable around him. He looks at you appreciatively."Thank you Blake. At least someone does.""Do you have to do the competition?"He nods silently."I'll be cheering for you." You say and quickly join your friends again.

McGonagall's class went from Transfiguration to Dance lessons because the Yule Ball was being held after the first Tri-wizard test."This ball is a tradition with every tournament in history and I will not have you mess it up with poor dance skills."Girls were sitting on one side of the room and boys were lines across the other. Zoe and Hermione squealed with excitement beside you and eventually you let a grin slip. "We need to go dress shopping guys!" Hermione said."Totally!" And they became just like any other teenage girl. You smile."Sable, would you like to demonstrate with Mr. Longbottom here?" McGonagall said over you and your friends chatter."I'm good McGonagall." She puckered her lips like she always does when you call her that."Then maybe you should stop talking and start watching. This is important."

And it was. Every girl was stressing about hair and makeup for the next few weeks. You, were relaxed. You would find something with Zoe and Hermione some other time. But then everyone starts getting dates to the ball. You're sitting with Zoe in the courtyard when Hermione runs up to you with a big grin on her face."Victor Krum asked me to the ball!" She exclaims. Zoe squeals with her and jumps in a circle."Wow Hermione, that's great! Your dating a champion!" Zoe says, and start arranging plans to go dress shopping. You feel a nervous tap on your shoulder. Your friends are so busy talking they don't notice Harry Potter standing beside you."Blake, I need to talk to you."You let him lead you to a secluded part of the courtyard. "Yeah, Harry?" You say, wondering what's going on."Dragons. That's the first task. I didn't know who else to come to, I just, I need some help."You frown. "Dragons." You repeat, thinking."I don't know how to fight a dragon Blake!" He exasperates. You see dark circles under his green eyes and his hair is even messier than usual."What are your strengths?" You ask calmly."Um, I don't- I guess I can fly." He says. You nod in agreement."But we're not allowed broomsticks." He states. You think back to last year, to when Draco summoned the Nimbus to save your lives."You're allowed a wand Harry." You say, and explain the Accio charm."Of course! Thank you, so much Blake. Thank you."

A week later the the first task is rolling. You are sitting in the stands with Zoe and Hermione, looking into a rocky pit, with a golden egg in the middle. The first three champions battle the dragons with no incident, all getting the egg in time. But when the Hungarian Horntail stomps out and Harry is called into the arena, you can't help but wish he succeeds. At first he almost gets wiped out by its tail, sending Hermione into a fit on gasps. Eventually he summons his broom, and your hopes are uplifted and soon he retrieves the egg.He looks at you when he holds it and you nod.Hermione is really rubbing off on you after all.

"Why did you help Potter?" Draco demands one late night."Because he had nobody else." You answer, indignant. "Because you promoted those stupid badges!""Potter deserves it!" He says, his voice getting louder. You match it. "Why? What has he ever done to you Malfoy? I did the right thing!""Why did you help him?" He shouts again."Because I could!" You yell, standing up."What? Do you have a thing for him or something?""Of course not Malfoy!" You shout."Why are you being such a Gryffindor? You're acting exactly like your Mud-blood friend!""HEY!" You shout loudly, anger bubbling inside you. "You promised you wouldn't bring that up. Why are you being such a jerk?" You push on his chest once.He slaps your hands off. "Because you helped stinking POTTER!" He yells."WHY DO YOU CARE?""What is going on here?" You pivot to see some sixth year. You turn around and pace a few steps. Draco puts his hands behind his neck."Nothing." You snap, and then exit the common room. You're taking a walk along the hall and getting some fresh air when Zoe comes out.She gives you a hug."You heard?""I think everyone heard." She says sadly. You sigh and put your head in your hands. "What am I gonna do?""We, are going dress shopping tomorrow." And you two talk it out and then you struggle to go to sleep.

You had to admit, going shopping with your friends took your mind off Draco for a couple of hours. You got the perfect dress and shoes. You needed a necklace but there was nothing there so you decided to go without. Hermione got a pink ruffled dress and some white heels, along with some new earrings. Zoe brought a sky blue dress with some sparkly shoes and a matching gold necklace. After you went to the Three Broomsticks, which became your place ever since last year.Zoe told you that this morning Cormac McLaggen asked her to the ball."Well what did you expect, you've been hassling him since last year." You jokeYou all drank some butter bear and talked away the hours until you felt much better.

That night you couldn't sleep at all. You fidgeted in bed until you couldn't take it any more and walked down to the common room. Draco wasn't there. You sit by the burning fire and stare into the flames. You tried not to miss the space he filled beside you.You still didn't have a date to the ball, but at least Harry was okay now. His friends had apologised, feeling stupid for ever thinking anybody would want to compete in the dangerous competition. You heard faint footstep coming down the stairs and you turned to see Draco. He smiled sheepishly. He was carrying a black case.He sat down beside you. "You have no idea how stupid I feel." He says. You stay silent, and he continues. "I'm sorry for acting so out of line. I was," He takes in a deep breathe. "I was jealous." He admits quietly. You stare into his icy blue eyes and you soften."Jealous?" You question gently. He nods. "Of what?""Of Potter. I thought that, you liked him. Since you were helping him and all." He says and stares at the case in his hands. He turns to face you."Blake, I've wanted to ask you this for a long time, and last night I thought I was too late. I thought Potter had stolen your heart or whatever." He says, rolling his eyes. You smile and shake your head. How wrong he was.He opens the box. "Will you be my date to the ball?"Inside is a diamond necklace, one that is so beautiful you can't help but gasp. "I thought you could wear it there, or like maybe just at outings. It's a bit much isn't it?" He says nervously."It's amazing Draco. I would love to go with you."He grins and closes the box, handing it to you. You smile and cuddle up to him. Everything was back in order.

A few days later, the Yule Ball is held. You get ready with Zoe and Hermione, and they love your new necklace. You went for a sleek, simple and elegant look, and this is what you wore: www.polyvore.com/blake_sable_yule...You get to the stairs leading to the Great Hall which has been transformed into a ball room. You're hand in hand with your friends and you see people milling around as you stand on top of the stair case. You look excitedly at Zoe when you see Cormac and she squeals and runs off with him, leaving Hermione and you left. When she sees Victor, she gives your hand as squeeze and joins him. You scan the crowd and look for Draco. He told you to meet him here.Soon the crowd disperses and they enter the ballroom. The champions have their slow dance and the music starts. It has only been a few minutes, so you're not worried about Draco being late. Draco comes right after the doors close. "Hi Blake." He says, smiling and taking your hand. He's wearing classic black and white dress robes, which look expensive and smart."You look incredible." He says, twirling you around. You laugh as he dips you. "We better head in beautiful." He says, and you walk hand in hand slowly towards the doors. He gets Crabbe and Goyle to open them for you and you two walk in with the doors shutting behind you loudly.Everybody stops and looks at you. They were all slow dancing. Draco smirks at you and you slowly join in with everyones eyes on you. You hear several gasps and you smile at Draco. He beams at you and takes your waist as you start to dance in the middle of the floor. He spins you around again and you two elegantly move around the hall. "Are you having a good time?" Draco asks you quietly."The best." You say. And you are. Everybody was mesmerised by your dress that night, and the boys couldn't keep their eyes off you. But you only had eyes for Draco. You think you have feelings for him. Big ones. When the slow dancing is over, you rejoin your friends. Zoe's eyes are sparkling. "This is the best night ever! Cormac is so sweet." You smile as she dances around. "Victor is more of the quiet kind." Hermione says, peering to see him staring at her. You know she really wanted Ron to ask her. "At least Blake has a boyfriend. We don't know what are dates are even thinking!" Zoe complains to Hermione."Whoa, wait. Boyfriend?" You ask, looking between them. "Everybody else knows it except you two. You should just get together already." Hermione says matter of factly."Everybody is talking about you and Draco. Well, mainly you in that dress." Zoe says and laughs. You turn to look at Draco and you see him staring at you. When he see's you looking, he turns away. You grin.

Later that evening, Harry comes up to you. He has traditional dress robes on, but doesn't look like he's having any fun."I didn't get a chance to thank you for helping me." He says."Don't worry about it."He nods."Well, thanks anyway." And he scurries off.You feel a hand grab yours gently."You want to take a walk?" You turn your head to see Draco's icy blue eyes and nod.

You both stroll outside, and you breathe in the fresh air. You see the Whomping Willow in the distance and Draco smiles. You grin at him and he stops you short, taking both of your hands and looking into your stormy grey eyes. The moonlight bounces off of his blonde hair and the wind blows your hair back. "I really did have a great time tonight." He says, breaking the comfortable silence."Me too." You say quietly.Lightning flashes overhead, brightening your surrounding for a moment.Draco runs his hand along your cheek.

A twig snaps in the distance and you hear faint laughter."We better go back inside." He says.

At around midnight you two are so tired that you fall asleep on the floor. When you wake up in the morning, the rain is pounding on the windows and thunder crackles throughout the school. You gently squeeze Draco's hand before getting ready for classes. The day crawls by slowly. The rain still comes down heavily, and you look out the window and sigh. The next task in the Tri-Wizard tournament was tomorrow, and you hoped the bad weather went away for Harry's sake.Your next lesson was Herbology, and the greenhouses were all the way across the grounds. As you prepare to run with Zoe and Hermione, a shriek catches your attention only. You look back to see a first year being beat up. You sigh and tell your friends to go on.The person bullying the kid is Pansy Parkinson. You're about to turn around and catch up with them, when she pulls out her wand and tells her friends to hold her down. You sigh in defeat and step in front of the first year.Pansy gives one look at you and withdraws her wand. "Goodbye Pansy." You say calmly. "Not worth it anyway." She grunts, and her friends drop the girl, scattering her books everywhere. You turn to look down on her."Come on, get up kid." You say hurriedly. You wait for her to pick up her books before getting a good look at her. Brown curly hair, brown eyes, glasses and a Gryffindor patch on her robes."Thank you Blake!" She squeaks, and runs off.You hear a slow clap behind you. You turn to see Draco and you smile but roll your eyes. "Shut up. What are you even still doing here?" You say, walking to the doors leading outside. It's still raining."Waiting for you." He says simply, and pushes them open. "Come on." And he grabs your hand, pulling you into the rain. When you try to run, he pulls you back. "What are you doing?" You shout over the rain. You two are already soaked, and the lighting is striking in the sky."Something I should of done last night." He yells. You knit your eyebrows together in confusion. "What?"You two are breathing heavily, and it looks like Draco is building up confidence to something.Just when your about to go, he pulls you to him with his hand on the small of your back. You spin into him and it forces your hands around his neck. You stare into his incredible blue eyes as he leans in. The kiss is long and demanding, and you forget that it's pouring. You forget you're at school. You forget everything other than Draco because your feelings towards each other are so big that you feel connected. After he pulls away, his hand on your cheek and your arms around his neck, you two hug whilst shaking with laughter.

The year had been a reasonably quiet one for you. No hospital visits, no big dramas or incidents. But for Harry, it was much the opposite. At the second task, you watched him bring back not one but two loved ones from the depths of the lake, and at the maze you awaited for his return. When he came out, Hermione laughed in relief. Cheers exploded around the stands, but when Harry didn't get up, you knew something was wrong. Soon the applause turned into horror filled silence as you discovered that Cedric Diggory was dead. Hermione cried, and you and Zoe consoled her. Zoe was a pale white, and you heard Cedric's fathers cries of pure agony in the distance. The night that Dumbledore explained Cedric's death, you sat by the fire with Draco."Do you really believe Voldemort's back?" You ask."I don't know." He says. "I think so."You really hoped he was wrong.

FIFTH YEAREverything changed that year. Hermione was worried sick about Harry, who was caught up in Cedric's death and Voldemort's return. Your best friends stayed by your side, as well as Draco. You two hadn't talked about your kiss since that day, but you were going out. When you were sitting at the welcome back feast with Zoe, you saw a stout, sour lady in pink at the end of the table. You joked about her with your friend."We would like to introduce Professor Umbridge, as our new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher." Dumbledore explained, gesturing to the lady in pink who looked like a toad. But when he was halfway through, she got up and stood in front of the podium. "Thank you, Professor Dumbledore for those kind words of greeting." She said in an annoying, high pitched voice. You laughed with Zoe in the quiet hall. Umbridge shot you a fiery glare as she continued. "What an idiot." Zoe quietly said to you. You nodded in agreement. When you were walking back to your dormitories, Finn caught up with you and gave up a big hug, spinning you around in a circle. You hadn't seen him all summer, he spent it with his girlfriend Del."Hey brat. Got something to tell you." He said, setting you down. You grinned widely at him, getting ready to ask him all about his summer, when you heard a demanding fake cough behind you.You turned around with Zoe beside you. It was Umbridge. Students were still filing out of the Great Hall, and they swarmed around you."Hello girls." She squeaked. You glanced at Zoe. She raised an eyebrow. "May I ask your names?" She continued."No." You said, without thinking."What she means to say is," Zoe says loudly and fast. "I'm Zoe Kingsley, and this is Blake Sable."Umbridge nodded, and glared at you."Well, Miss Kingsley, Miss Sable, I would appreciate it if you would not talk whilst I am. Your actions in the Great Hall did not go undetected." She said slowly. You scoffed, looking down at her."And I would appreciate it if you kept-" But Zoe had elbowed you in the ribs sharply, making you stop. She blinked slowly, and simply said, "I'll see you in class.""What a bloody mess that was." Zoe said as you two walked away. "I have a feeling things will get much worse."

And they did. Umbridge got promoted to High Inquisitor and the school practically belonged to the Ministry of Magic. She made rules, and hung them above the arch so everyone could see. "Look at this rubbish." Hermione said to you one day. "What a load of-" But you then saw Umbridge watching you like a hawk. She did that usually these past few days. You wanted to storm up to her and tell her to mind her own business, but Hermione spun you around and you went to class. Which happened to be Defence Against the Dark Arts. You were late, somehow. You opened the loud doors and Hermione ran to her seat hurriedly. Umbridge had her back turned. You took your time and took a seat next to Zoe in the middle of the class."You're late." She said, imperious. When you didn't answer she whipped around and walked to your desk. She obviously didn't care or know about Hermione. "Miss Sable, I want us to be friends. I really do, but I will have order in my school!" She exasperated. You scoffed."It's not your school." You snapped, without thinking. Although you were a Slytherin, and although Umbridge favoured your house, you hated her with all your might. Her nostrils flared unattractively. "Miss Sable, I will not tolerate this kind of behaviour!""Whatever Umbridge." You said cooly. She took a deep breath in."If I hear your voice one more time today, you're going straight to detention." She said. You raised an eyebrow at her challenging. Zoe slapped you on the arm and you backed down a little. Then she continued with her lesson. You caught Draco's eye and he smirked, giving you a thumbs up.When she gave out beginners books, you almost snapped, but Zoe reminded you of detention. You didn't care, but Hermione was already dealing with the matter."No, Miss Granger." Umbrigde said. "You will not need magic in this classroom."Harry argued. "What about when we graduate? How are we going to defend ourself against things outside of Hogwarts?""What could possibly be out there?" Umbridge snapped. You share a look with Zoe."Gee, I don't know." Harry said sarcastically. "How about Lord Voldemort?" Silence blanketed the room."Let me get one thing straight." The teacher said slowly. "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, is not back. And therefore, anybody saying differently, is lying.""I am not lying!" Harry said strongly. And now that Umbridge didn't believe that Voldemort was back, you believed it even more. "He's not lying Umbridge." You say loudly, not being able to contain yourself any longer. "I told you to keep your mouth shut Sable!" She said wildly."Why would I ever listen to an old hag?" You snap. Several gasps, but a lot of quiet snickering. "How. Dare you." She says, seething. "Talking to your discipliners like that!" She shouts."Do you see any discipline in this room Umbridge?" You say, without thinking. "Blake!" Zoe whispers warningly, but you can't stop."You will never get this school under control! Can't you see that? Don't take you're worthless, meaningless life difficulties out on us, just because we have a chance at not becoming old, ugly bitches." You say in the meanest tone you can muster. You're about to continue when she interrupts."DETENTION!" She shrieks. "For both of you!"

After day lessons end, you trudge up the stairs to Umbridge's office. You don't bother knocking. You see Harry is already there. "You must knock when entering an office Miss Sable." She says, sipping on a cup of tea. You look around the room in disgust. The walls are a bright pink. Cat plates fill them horrifically, and the fire place mantel is lined with kitten figurines. "This is hideous." You say without a trace of thought. She glares at you menacingly."Sit." She barks, gesturing to the seat next to Harry. "You're going to be doing some lines for me today."She places two sheets of parchment and two quills in front of you."Mr. Potter, you write, 'I must not tell lies', and Miss Sable, you write, 'I must not talk back'."She says, standing and looking out the window."You didn't give us any ink." Harry says."Oh, you will not need it. Those are.. special, quills."You exchange a look with Harry, and start writing. After the first line of scrawled handwriting, you start to feel a searing pain on the back of your hand. You wince and examine it. It starts to burn, and you're reminded of the pain when Pansy hexed you.You try not to wince as you watch the line you just wrote being etched into your skin. You look at Harry's hand, which is doing the same thing, and you jump up."What the hell Umbridge?" She tuts. "You must not talk back Miss Sable." She says, smiling. It burns even more, making you clench you're hand and try not to cry out in pain."Detention is over. I'm sure I will not see you two again." You were so angry that you pulled out your wand. Harry jumped up and smacked down your raised arm. "Blake." He said warningly.Umbridge puckered her lips and breathed heavily."Miss Sable. What do you think you're doing?"You glanced at Harry, who was looking at you with a frown. His hand was still placed on your arm. You sighed and walked out behind Harry, but you slammed the door so loud you heard china smashing and a trilled pitch. You smirked."Thank you." Harry said quietly."For what?" You said, walking with him through the deserted hallways."For sticking up for me, for believing me."You shook your head. "You don't have to thank me Harry. I didn't do it for you. I did it because I believe it." You walked in silence, your footsteps echoing off the walls."We need to learn real magic Blake. We are never going to know how to defend ourselves if we keep going to Umbridge's class.""I'm up for ditching Harry, but there's no point.""No, that's not what I'm saying. Straight after Umbridge's class, Hermione thought of this brilliant plan.""What?" You ask curiously."Hermione, Ron and myself are starting a Defence class that we'll go to secretly, and actually learn how to fight against the Dark Arts."You think about it for a moment."Who's the teacher?"He hesitated. "Me."You sniffed and deliberated, thinking quickly about what you should do. "I- um..""We were wondering if you would like to join? If you do, come to the Hog's Head next Hogsmead trip." He said. You continued to walk in silence whilst you thought about it.A secret Defence Against the Dark Arts club? Which will probably be filled with annoying Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs. But then again, you would like to show Umbridge up. And you would do it for Hermione. You know Zoe would want to do it."I'll think about it." You said, and you two departed, with your scars itching on your hands.

That night, you sat with Draco. You told him about Harry's offer."And you're going?""Well, Zoe is. And Hermione will be there. It will be good to learn these things.""From Potter." He said, playing with your hair absent-mindedly, something he did a lot."Yeah." You answered. He sighed and you saw his eyes flick around the room. A habit he did when he was thinking."I don't know Blake." He said, holding your hands and twirling your ring around. You had forgotten about your scar until Draco spotted it."Blake." He said with his eyebrows creased. "What is that?" He picked up your hand and turned it over in the firelight."Umbridge's detention." You replied. When you saw Draco's eyes flash with anger, you embellished. "Nothing serious." You added unhelpfully. He glared at your hand. "Umbridge did this to you? For defending Potter?"You nodded doubtfully. Draco got jealous easily. He swallowed and clenched his jaw."If you're going, I am."

So the following week, you headed over to the Hog's Head with Zoe and Draco. You still weren't sure about this, but you knew nothing bad could come out of a meeting. You were the last to sneak into the small bar. It was full of exactly what you expected, Gryffindors. Harry was standing on a chair up the front. Everyone turned to look at you. You leant against the wall at the back with Draco clutching your hand.Hermione gave you a big smile and Harry gave you a grateful nod. They all looked bewildered to see Draco there."So if you want to sign up, write your name on this slip of parchment." Harry finished nervously. You looked at Draco as everyone gathered around the table."We don't have to if you don't want to." You said, looking up at him and tracing a circle around the back of his hand."It sounds like an alright idea." He said uncertainly.Harry walks up to you two."Thanks for coming you guys." He says, looking at you more than Draco. "We appreciate it.""It doesn't mean we're joining your fan club Potter." Draco says. "We'll think about it Harry." You say before he walks away."Are you joining?" Zoe says, walking up to you. "They give you these." And she holds up a gold coin. When everybody left the pub, you and Draco stalked up to the wooden table with a long parchment full of signatures.Hermione grins at you. "You could help teach Patronuses?" She says hopefully. You look up at Draco one more time, and try to read his face. He looks down and you stare into his icy blue eyes before signing the sheet.

You're walking the halls, hand in hand with Draco. You are heading to Defence Against the Dark Arts with Umbridge, so you are feeling pretty down. But your mood spikes up when you see Finn bounding down the corridor towards you. You smile and squeal as he spins you around. It feels like you haven't seen your brother in years. He pound hugs Draco. They get along really well. "How's it going love birds?" He says, smirking at you."Fine." You tease. Finn is in his final year at Hogwarts, leaving to go live with his girlfriend whom he told you all about but you've never met."I would like you," He pokes you two, "to meet my girlfriend Del." And he slings his arm around a slight girl with dark auburn hair and big brown eyes. She smiles and hugs you."It's so good to meet you!" She says. "Finn has told me all about you."You beam as you look upon the very happy couple. Del is in Slytherin, and Finn says she is the smartest girl he's ever met. He has told you so many things about her that you feel like you already know the beautiful girl. From that day forward you and Del become best friends. She is like a big sister to you, and you love seeing her so happy around Finn. She protects you when you need it and you and Finn become closer then ever before. You love them with all your heart.

At midnight a few weeks later, you and Draco are walking along the corridors hand in hand. You can hear the excited whispers of Zoe and Hermione behind you, but you are anything other than ready. When you enter the Room of Requirement, you see a crowd of people surrounding Harry. You and Draco stick to the back of the herd and listen carefully."Tonight we're going to start off with something easy; Expelliarmus." Harry says loudly. And the lessons begin. You pair up with Draco and you get it on the first try, watching his wand fly across the room. Everyone's eyes are on you."Well done Blake!" Harry says, slicing the awed silence. You got the hang of spells easily and shrugged off his compliment, making Draco do the same to you.You already knew half the spells Harry taught you but you perfected them under his watchful eye.

The infamous Dumbledore's army was in full swing, especially since Umbridge was Headmaster now. Draco seemed to enjoy it although you two didn't talk about it much. When Harry taught the team the Patronus spell, Draco pulled you aside."Can you teach me this one day? Just you and me?"So you did. You and Draco came back to the Room of Requirement and practiced until he made a beautifulPatronus taking the shape of a Maned Wolf. You both watched the Clouded Leopard and the Maned Wolf glide gracefully along the dark room. Draco put his arm around your shoulder."You're a pretty great teacher Blake."You grinned and looked up at him, and you closed your eyes as he kissed you — the white whispers of your Patronus's flashing behind your closed eyelids.

SIXTH YEARDraco was gone the whole summer. You were used to the midnight talks that helped you go to sleep, and without them, or him for that matter, you didn't sleep for the entire holiday. You, Zoe and Hermione wrote every day, and you usually read those in order to catch up on your rest. But you never heard a word from the one you wanted to talk to most. The only news that awakened you, was that Finn and Del were getting married. The ceremony took place on the beach, and you watched the ocean roar behind them as they said their vows. You were so happy for them, that you couldn't help but shed a tear.Still no sign from Draco. Before school started again, the happy couple delivered some new news. Del was pregnant. You and your family rejoiced until September, when you boarded the train by yourself. When you looked in the mirror when you sat down next to Zoe and Hermione — you saw humungous black circles underneath them. You sighed as your eyelids grew heavy, and you finally caught some sleep on the way to Hogwarts.

You didn't see Draco for the majority of the year. You were getting more and more tired, and no matter how hard you tried, you couldn't get any sleep. But it wasn't the lack of rest that was really saddening you. You were almost depressed without him.You hadn't realised how much you... loved, Draco until he was gone. You were worried you were never going to see him again. One night, you walked down and sat by the fire, getting prepared for another terrible night. "I'm sorry Blake."You jumped and spun around, standing up fast.It was the blue eyed boy you were crazy about. But you couldn't move your feet. In fact, you couldn't feel anything at all except relief. But he left you without a word. "Finally decided to show up?" You said hesitantly, trying to be angry but failing. You crossed your arms.He stepped closer. "Blake." He closed his eyes, and you saw black circles underneath them, similar to yours.Upon closer inspection, you realised he looked pained. Almost like he was dying slowly on the inside."You have no idea how much I've missed you beautiful." He whispered. "You have no idea how much I wanted to tell you. But I couldn't. Too much danger, I couldn't live with myself." It was like he was talking to himself rather than you."What are you talking about Draco?" It felt good to speak to him again. Like you knew everything was going to be fine. But then he told you everything. And nothing was fine.

Draco had confided in you that he was a Death Eater. That he had to kill Albus Dumbledore at the Astronomy tower in two weeks time. That Voldemort had threatened to kill you. And in order to save you, he has to do it.He couldn't tell you anything because he was afraid. He didn't know what to do. Now, you looked into his icy blue eyes and touched him for the first time in eight months. When you parted from the delicate kiss, you held his hands."You can't do that.""I have to Blake." He said, staring into your stormy grey eyes."Not for me.""Blake don't you understand? It's always been you! I can't live without you.""I won't let you become a murderer!" You said, staring at the flickering flames of the fire."And I won't let you be murdered." He said, holding your cheeks and kissing you again.

The two weeks went by quickly. Draco never left your side after that night, refusing to let you out of his sight."They'll be here soon." He said the night of the plan. "Please, for me, stay with Zoe in the common room. Please.""I won't let you do this alone.""Please beautiful, I couldn't live with myself if you got hurt.""And I couldn't live with myself if you got hurt." You reply. You hold his hands and he kisses you fiercely on the lips. "Please?"You shake your head and he reluctantly leads you to the Astronomy Tower. "Stay underneath Blake. Please." He whispers to you.You oblige and look between the wooden floorboards to Draco above. You point your wand out and try your best to back him up.You hear Dumbledore and him talk above."I have to! Don't you see? Or he'll kill her!" You can hear the pain in his voice. You jump as you feel a tap on your shoulder. It's Harry Potter. You frown at him and gesture for him to go away. He shakes his head at you."Do it!" You hear someone hiss from above. You snap your head back to Draco.Bellatrix Lestrange is standing beside him. Then Snape comes, and places his finger to his lips. You and Harry still and relief floods through you. He will fix this. He will protect Draco. He points his wand at Dumbledore and says the two words that send the headmaster tumbling down the tower. You sprint up to where Draco is and he hugs you with all his might."So this is the girl!" Bellatrix cackles. You turn to face her, but Draco pulls you in closer and protects you."We're leaving Bellatrix." He declares."What about the Dark Lord?" She says, her crazy eyes boggling."Blake is more important." He says. She gasps and Draco pulls you in front of him before you run. You run as fast as you can with your heart in your throat. Draco pulls you to a stop and leads you into the Room of Requirement. You can see sweat glimmering on his forehead as he opens a small closet door open. "The Vanishing Cabinet." He whispers, and he lifts you into it. He gets in himself and pulls you towards him tight before shutting the doors.

SEVENTH YEARDraco gets out first and holds his hand out to you.You look around to see Borgin and Burkes. "Come on beautiful we don't have much time." You stand behind him as he speaks a spell and the cabinet goes up in silent flames."Take my arm." He says and you apparate.

You end up at a beach. The stars above you are glimmering brightly and they reflect in Draco's eyes."Why did you put yourself in danger?" You ask quietly."Because you will always come first Blake." "He's going to kill you." You whisper painfully."As long as you're safe beautiful."You walk hand in hand down the deserted beach and head for a house."This is the only place I could think of." Draco says, slicing through the silence. You both enter the small house and look around.8f96b1d425361c1b2cc85a68b1463aDraco leaves to surround the perimeter with protective spells. He returns shortly and wraps his hand around your waist."We're on the run from him aren't we?" You ask.He nods. "I'm sorry for putting you in danger beautiful."You shake your head. "I go where you go."The house is fully furnished, so you light a fire and sit down in front of it. Draco joins you and you lean into him. You two fall asleep almost instantly, with you in his arms.

For the next few weeks you live in that house. With no other people and no interruptions. You have no trouble sleeping now, even though Voldemort was on the hunt for his disloyal Death-Eater. All you needed was Draco. Living together, the two of you grew even closer than before. Although things should be dull, they weren't. There was never a boring moment when you were with Draco.

One day you're walking along the golden beach you grew to love. Hand in hand, you and Draco talk whilst admiring the view. "I think we need to leave." He says. You stop and look out over the calm ocean. The clouds above are grey, and the wind blows your dirty blonde hair back. "I know." You sigh and he wraps his arm around your waist and kisses you on the side of the head."We'll come back." He says."How do you know?""I can count on it."

You get back to the house and you see a owl outside of the protection barrier. A note is in it's beak. Draco cautiously picks it up and you read it together.

Blake and Draco We don't know where you are but we're worried about you. We've sent this owl to find you, we hope you're reading this.We understand you are on the run from You Know Who, but from our sources, we discovered he's preoccupied. He does have Death Eaters on the hunt for you two, but you seem to be hidden pretty well.In other news, he has taken over Hogwarts and there will be a battle commencing next month. We will be there, fighting for our school. We'd also like you to know that we now have a child, a boy, Farley. Please be safe. Del and Finn

You both look at each other."A battle at Hogwarts." You say, with your eyebrows knitted together. You missed Finn and Del with all of your heart, and was sad to miss the birth of Farley, but you needed Draco. You also missed you're best friends and longed to see them again."Will we go?""And if we do, what side will we fight for?"You look into Draco's icy blue eyes and lean into him. "I think we should go and fight.""Alongside our friends." Draco finishes.

You decide to stay at your beach house until the battle, and in the mean time, you and Draco bond even more. You catch up on a lot of lost sleep from last year, but you're always on guard. One day, you walk hand in hand down the beach like you normally do.The sun is setting and the sky is a beautiful orange — the breeze is gently blowing against your skin. Draco stops you and stands in front of you, holding your hands in his."Blake. I've been thinking. I know this isn't the best time in the world, but, well, maybe this is the best time to do it." He stammers nervously. You tilt your head slightly and gesture for him to go on."We are going to fight against the Death Eaters in only a few weeks time. Who knows what will happen? I just need you to be in my life Blake." He looks into your stormy grey eyes."I would love nothing more, than to call you my wife."And he bends down and pulls out a silver ring. diamond-wedding-rings-14You can't help but gasp at the shocking surprise. "I got it when I brought you that necklace. I just knew, that I wanted you to be my wife, beautiful. I've carried it around ever since."You can see that his hands are shaking. Yours are too, and you can feel your face morph into a smile. You're too speechless to say anything, so you nod and he simply slips the ring onto your finger. The butterflies in your stomach are going mental as extreme joy overtakes you.He gets up and you leap into his arms. You kiss him so fiercely that he almost falls over, stumbling to catch you both. He laughs and you join in, reminded of your first kiss. Then you see he has a mischievous look in his eyes. He carefully takes off your ring and you squeal as he runs into the ocean. You two swim and mess around in the beautiful sea until the sun sets and the stars are sparkling above you. And you think, what a perfect day.

When the day of the battle comes around, you pace anxiously around the house. Voldemort will be there. He'll see Draco and be furious. He might kill him. You might not be there to protect him.Draco might get hurt. You could never live on if he died. You knew it."Maybe this was a bad idea." You say aloud, twisting you're ring anxiously.Draco walks into the room and hugs you tightly."We don't have to do it if you don't want to beautiful.""I want to. But, I don't want you to get hurt."He smiles. "I won't. I promise Blake."

When the sun sets, you walk outside with Draco. He diminishes the barriers surrounding the house and holds out his arm."Are you ready Blake?""I'm ready."

You land inside the castle, in a deserted Slytherin common room. The barricades around Hogwarts must of been destroyed. You can hear screams and battle sounds around you and you look into Draco's icy blue eye's once more. "Stay with me.""Always."And you walk out into the battle field. Immediately you get hexed, but you fend it off with a wave of your wand. You and Draco stand back to back as you fire spells out towards your enemies. You see Zoe in the distance, fighting with Hermione and your heart swells. You missed them so much. But you cant see them, you must stay focused. In your slight distracted moment, you get caught with a hex and feel blood trickle down your face. But you continue on, holding in your scream of pain. After only twenty minutes of fending and attacking, everything stops. The Death Eaters retreat as you hear a message from Voldemort himself. He had summoned Harry to meet him in the Forbidden Forest.

You breathe in heavily when all of the Death Eaters have dispersed. Draco spins you around and you hug him."I guess we came at the right time." He says. You turn around to see Zoe and Hermione hugging. You slowly walk over to them. You left them without a second glance. You didn't tell them where you went. You didn't even say goodbye. Zoe gasps and covers her mouth with her hands. Hermione cries out and hugs you. Zoe closes in too and you all sink to the floor, crying. You missed them so much."Where were you!" Hermione cries.Zoe clings onto you."Draco and I had to leave, Hermione. I'm so sorry guys." "It's okay. We understand." Zoe sniffles."You're fighting for us." Hermione says, looking up behind you.You turn to see Draco. He smirks. "I go where Blake goes.""I missed you guys so much." You say, smiling at your best friends."We're so glad you're back."

Later on, you're standing in the Great Hall which has been transformed into a make-shift hospital. You were frantically searching for Finn and Del, but knew that they'd be here. Del helping the injured and Finn helping her. You see them, standing in the middle of the hall and you stumble with relief. The two of you run over and hug your family. "I missed you so much!" You cry into Finn's shoulder. He still smells the same, of cologne and wood chips. You smile and breathe it in. Your brother and sister were alive and well."We missed you!" Del exclaims, hugging Draco. You could almost cry, seeing your brother and sister-in-law again. Your heart was aching for them all year. You see the Weasley's surrounding a body on the floor and Hermione comforting Ron. You can't help but feel sorry for them. You see Harry behind them, and he stalks out to the doorway. "I'll be right back Draco." You say, and you catch him on the arm before he left. "Harry." "Blake!" He blinks in surprise. "We- I thought you were gone.""Look, I know you're going to go to the forest. I'm not gonna stop you because I know I can't." He looks at you with his tired eyes and he knows you understand."But say goodbye to them Harry. They deserve to know." He looks back at his two best friends and then his gaze returns to you."Thank you Blake.""They were great years Harry."And you leave him to return to Draco.

You see him. Voldemort. He's standing in front of his army of Death Eaters. You're in the crowd of students and teachers with Draco pulling you close to his side. Hermione and Zoe are standing beside you with Finn and Del in eye sight. You shiver."HARRY POTTER IS DEAD!" He exclaims in a loud, ominous voice. Several shrieks of pain. You see Ginny Weasley cry and try to run out to the limp body in Hagrid's arms. She's restrained by three students. The army in front of you rejoices. As you hear people cry around you. Even though you knew he was going to sacrifice himself, you still felt your heart drop. You look up at Draco and twist your ring around you finger."Join us, or be killed." Voldemort says, imperious. You and Draco are hidden in the masses, but somehow, he still spots you."Draco Malfoy." He says slowly. "My failed recruit." Nervous snickers. "And you're beautiful girlfriend. Or shall I say, fiancee?" You lower your ring hand."Come out Draco. And bring Ms Sable with you, if you will."You look up at his icy blue eyes as he reluctantly leads you to the front of the crowd. He stands in front of you, acting like a shield."I will forgive you Draco. Love is a powerful thing, isn't it?"You hear the cackles of his crazy supporters. "Come and join us, Draco and Blake." He hisses.Silence blankets the two armies."No." Draco says loudly.Voldemort looks taken aback but proceeds with his calm state."Love is a drug, isn't it?" More silence. "Why don't we make a deal? I understand Blake has a.. fiery, personality. Perfect for a Death Eater. Why don't you turn her in and save yourself.""Never." Draco spits immediately."Then how about we put on a show for those who disobey me?" And before you know it, two men are yanking you out of Draco's arms and pushing you down before Voldemort. You hear him yell out for you, and you fight to look back at him, he's being restrained by two more. He's fighting as they lead him forward, standing a few meters behind you.Voldemort looks down on you."Such a pretty girl." And he pulls out his wand. "Crucio."You scream out in pain, your shriek echoing around the courtyard. As you writher around on the crumbled floor, all you can think about is death. The pain is intense, and you feel like your head is going to explode. You see Draco, struggling against his captures and crying as he tries to save you. Just as you think it's the end, the pain suddenly stops, leaving you with a throbbing in your body. You go limp and weaken."STOP! PLEASE STOP!" Draco screams. But then, just as Voldemort is about to go for another tortuous round, Harry falls to the ground and sprints behind a podium. Gasps fill the courtyard but they are faint, and your vision is blurred. You feel arms wrap around you and your weight being lifted, but not much else before everything goes dark.

You wake up on a cool hard surface. You sit up groggily to see Draco holding your hand, Hermione beside him, Zoe holding your other hand and Harry standing above. You grin."Here we are again."Draco kisses your hand."What happened?" You ask."Voldemort's dead." Hermione says gloomily. You look around at the sombre faces. You see Draco has slightly red eyes."Isn't that a good thing?""It is, Blake. But there's.. there's something you need to see."Draco helps you up and you follow your friends through the Great Hall. Bodies are scattered across the floor, and people are being healed as you walk down the isle. You heart is in your throat, as the suspense of bad news threatens to hit you. You know it's bad. But what happened?Draco stops you short and holds your hand."I'm so sorry Blake." Harry says. You look down to see them. Them.Lying there. On the ground. Holding hands.Your stomach drops.Things feel faint. You cry out as you kneel beside them. True pain, greater than the Crucio curse, comes upon you. Finn and Del are dead. You sob uncontrollably as you see their lifeless figures. Draco crouches beside you and hugs you. Zoe and Hermione joins in and you all cry together, seeing your brother and sister are gone.

You lean against the cool stone outside and breathe in the fresh air. Draco's on one side of you, and Zoe and Hermione are on the other. The mist settles around the ground far below as you sniff. "What a day." Zoe says quietly. You find the power to smile a little."What a life." Hermione embellishes. As you stand there, with your husband and your two best friends, you know, that although they aren't now, things will be fine."What a life indeed."

EPILOUGEFinn and Del had appointed you and Draco to be Farley's godparents. You accept with great honour and you two love him as though he is your own. Shortly after the battle of Hogwarts, you and Draco got married, with all of your friends attending. Farley was four months old by then and was sitting in the crowd with Zoe.Draco's family fortune was enough to buy you a house, and it was built on the beach Draco proposed to you on.stunning-waterfront-retreat-brThen Zoe moved in next door to you, with her husband Cormac and their daughter Xanthe. After that, Hermione and Ron moved close by and so did Harry and Ginny. You all remained best friends. You raised Farley like he was your own, and Draco adored him, teaching him how to play baby Quidditch and making a fuss of him all the time. You and Draco got jobs as Aurors, and you loved it.When Farley was two, you and Draco had a child of you own, a girl called Saffron. While Farley had Finn and your dirty blonde hair and Del's big brown eyes, Saffron had Draco's blonde hair and your stormy grey eyes. You loved them both extremely and they became best friends with your friends kids. When Farley went to Hogwarts, two years before Saffron, he got into Slytherin and became the most confident, outgoing prankster of the whole year. When Saffron went, she got into Slytherin too, but she reminded you a lot of Zoe, as she was the sweetest little girl you've ever seen. They had a bond like you and Finn did, and Farley protected Saffron like a father would, although Draco never let anything bad happen to his daughter. You lived a wonderful, amazing life that you and Draco loved.
