Chapter 11: Simplistic Thinking

She looked calmly toward the cafeteria's food service window as if she hadn't been the one to make that remark just moments ago.

Her mother came over with her soup, and, by the way, also handed two piping hot buns fresh out of the steamer to Lu Xiao.

After thanking her, Lu Xiao turned around with an expressionless face and said, "I processed it with my eyes closed."

Having said that, he walked to the very end of the long dining table and sat down to eat.

Wen Xian turned her head to stare at him for a while before she frowned slightly and muttered with a mix of laughter and helplessness, "Such bullshit, men are only honest when they're hung on the wall."

She knew how sexy she was.

Otherwise, why would a top celebrity joke about it? She didn't believe for a second he hadn't taken a look.

...

Lu Xiao was biting into his bun, scarfing down his meal quickly when he suddenly felt a shadow loom over him.

She had taken a seat right in front of him.

Lu Xiao paused for a moment but then continued to eat without even lifting his eyelids.

There was an empty seat next to Wen Xian as Zha Xi had stepped out, with Lu Xiao across from her, and also Sang Nian.

Sang Nian was nowhere near as fierce with her as he had been before.

He pushed a plate with a large bun towards her somewhat shyly and modestly, scratching his head and blushing as he said, "You can't be full from just a bowl of mutton soup at night, and you didn't eat at noon either, so here, have a bun, Mama just steamed them, and they're delicious."

Clearly, knowing that she was the star Wen Xian whom he had always liked, his attitude had changed despite trying not to show favoritism.

In front of Wen Xian was a bowl of mutton soup, fragrant and steaming.

It had a large lamb shank bone and a few pieces of meat in it, the slightly oily surface was sprinkled with a layer of cilantro and green onions, smelling delicious enough to whet any appetite.

However, as a celebrity, she was always self-disciplined and strictly controlled her diet.

So, she directly bit into a big chunk of bun and then lowered her head to gulp down several mouthfuls of soup.

The moment she swallowed, she felt an immense satisfaction that was out of this world.

Lu Xiao: "..."

Sang Nian: "..."

Where was the woman who had claimed she would rather starve than eat a bite of their food?

Seeing her enjoy the food, Sang Nian, caught between shock and eagerness, quickly said, "I'll get you a meat bun."

As he was about to stand up—

"Sit down."

Lu Xiao interrupted his action.

He coldly raised his eyes and said, "Can't she get it herself if she wants to eat? Does she not have hands?"

Wen Xian felt indignant upon hearing this and promptly finished half a bun and half a bowl of soup to fill her stomach.

She took a napkin to elegantly wipe her mouth, then smiled at Sang Nian and said, "No need, handsome boy, I can't eat anymore, I liked buns when I was little."

Sang Nian blushed like a monkey's butt as soon as she called him a handsome boy.

Nobody was so straightforward in addressing others here, and momentarily lost in a daze, he stammered, "Oh, really, so you don't like buns anymore?"

Wen Xian saw Captain Lu's stern expression and the corner of her lips twitched ever so slightly. She held the soft white bun in her hand and said unhurriedly, "Now that I've grown up, I prefer to play."

"Pfft—!"

A guy at the next table who had been craning his neck to eavesdrop sprayed out a mouthful of water.

Sang Nian: "..." ???

Play?

He was still young and pure of thought, and was about to ask, "Ah, what's, what's fun…"?

But before he could finish asking, Lu Xiao all of a sudden slammed his chopsticks down on the table and bellowed, "Are you done eating?! Now all of you scram!"
