The Lonewolf Operation Part One

As the two men stood on the ship's foredeck, they were greeted by a refreshing breeze. The gentle wind carried the salty scent of the sea, while the crescent moon illuminated the dark waters to the west of Kaishi country. The ship, a sturdy vessel with a well-maintained deck, was sailing at an average speed towards a remote island known as Zandaigan.

The man's eyes burned with a fierce determination as he spoke, "I'll make that criminal regret ever messing with me. This will be the last time." The wind whipped through his spiky hair, making it unruly as he stood there in his silver armor, radiating a sense of power and authority. He had a medieval sword sheathed on his left waist, the intricate design of the handle catching the light as he moved. The man's stance was firm, ready for whatever challenge lay ahead.

"I assure you, Captain Morida, that this time you will catch him. With me by your side, we have a better chance," said by the guy beside him, while crunching on a pack of potato chips. He had a ponytailed hairstyle and was wearing a green buttoned shirt and black slacks, which was the uniform of the "Lost Mjolnir" guild.

The captain responded with a deep sigh, "I hope you're right." Despite his confidence, he knew the challenge ahead was no ordinary one.

Shino Morida and Minoru Yokoyama, members of the cops' guild called "Lost Mjolnir," were tasked by the Kaishi Council to capture an S-ranked criminal who was reportedly roaming around Zandaigan Island.

The vessel is currently transporting a total of twenty individuals, consisting of fifteen members of the Lost Mjolnir and five crew members. The group is being led by Shino Morida, an experienced and capable leader, while Minoru Yokoyama is a newly inducted member of the guild who is eager to prove himself.

Morida encouraged the newcomer, "This is your first mission as a guild member. Do your best, rookie."

"I'm feeling a bit nervous," Yokoyama replied with an anxious grin.

"Stick to the plan without any deviation and ensure that no mistakes are made. We cannot afford any errors, failure is not an option."

"It won't happpen, captain. I'll guarantee I'll make no mistakes."

"Just call me Morida sempai."

The haunting howls of the wolves, echoing through the dense forest, mingle with the piercing hoots of the owls, creating a mesmerizing symphony of sounds that grows louder and more distinct as they draw closer to the island.

As it's currently nighttime, the view of the island is not as vibrant as it is during the day. Instead, it is dark and the island's natural beauty is not visible. The crescent moonlight doesn't provide enough illumination to light up the surroundings; instead, the shadows of the swaying trees cloak the island.

The ship accelerated, and the cops readied themselves for the impending battle.

Eden Land is a parallel world to Earth where people known as Divine Knights possess superpowers. These individuals use their Ki to manipulate natural elements, summon beasts, and wield medieval weapons in combat.

Fire, wind, water, and earth are the four essential elements that individuals use. However, some people creatively use ki, which is a type of energy, by merging it with their medieval weapons. This makes their weapons ten times more potent than ordinary ones. Others use beasts as their primary tools in fighting. They make these animals their familiars by controlling their will and using them to fight by their side.

In this world, ki's are used by individuals to fight crime on a daily basis. However, the "Lost Mjolnir" police force prefers to use advanced weaponry. Their arsenal usually consists of mid-range weapons such as pistols that fire ki-charged bullets, a lasso, a pair of steel batons, and several throwing knives that have been enhanced with ki to maximize their potential for restraining criminals.

The Kaishi Council established the "Lost Mjolnir" guild to serve as the primary law enforcement agency in the country, with guild members stationed throughout the nation similar to police officers.

"Attention, everyone!"

On the front deck, Captain Shino Morida addressed the group, including rookie Yokoyama. They stood in straight lines, divided into two.

Shino Morida announced to his team, "Get ready boys, we're about to face one of the most difficult criminals to catch, Sakaki Kyoshiro!"

The majority of his men were young adults in their 20s. Most of them are C-Ranked Knights; only the captain (Shino Morida) and the vice-captain are the B-ranks. Yokoyama is the only D-ranked Knight on the ship since he is still a rookie who just graduated from the academy.

There are mixed emotions among the team members regarding this operation. While some are nervous, others are thrilled about it. They have all received training for situations like this, but the stakes are higher this time because their target is an S-ranked criminal. The council's expectations are riding on the success of this operation. They cannot afford to make any mistakes, otherwise, all the time and effort spent during their training will be wasted.

"His case is that he massacred an entire royal clan ten years ago. He was just a child back then."

The rowdy cops whispered in disbelief upon hearing the stunning announcement. They never anticipated the mission to be easy, but they didn't expect it to be this complicated either.

"In your career, this will be your fifteenth try apprehending this criminal, right?" Out of nowhere, Yokoyama interrupts his captain with a sharp-tongued question.

Morida paused before responding, "That's true," with a subdued tone.

After the captain's sudden confession, the murmurs grew even louder.

"This guy is dangerous. He's managed to avoid all of our attempts to restrain him and is incredibly fast," Morida said, unable to hide his displeasure. The copd gradually fell silent.

Morida shook his head and dispelled the negative vibe after a moment of silence.

"But this time, I'll be better prepared. Back then I was inexperienced. So this time, I'll make sure to get that bastard and complete the operation successfully. I am requesting my team members to support me!"

"Sure, Captain! But in exchange, you'll have to treat us all to a vacation in Moon Reefs Islands. It's the best tourist spot in Yogima country!"

"Wha . . . Wait . . What?"

"Captain, I've been single my whole life. Can you introduce me to Miss Genzou Nodoka, your former guildmate?"

Laughter erupted on the deck as the crew lightened the mood by teasing their captain.

"Jeez. If you say so." "Morida found himself agreeing with everything that they had said."

Shino Morida and his team are about to embark on their fifteenth attempt to capture the notorious S-Ranked criminal, Sakaki Kyoshiro. Despite their best efforts, they have been unable to apprehend him in the past. Sakaki is incredibly fast and always seems to be one step ahead of their plans. He avoids confrontations and manages to slip away from them every time. However, this has only made Shino and his team more determined to catch him this time.

"Sakaki Kyoshiro! Tonight marks the end of our long battle! My name will go down in Kaishi history!" Morida exclaimed, claiming his victory eagerly.

Yokoyama teased his captain, "You've caught so many big criminals, yet you're still not famous."

"Shut the hell up, rookie!"

"WE are the dominants, WE are the peace, WE are the order! Long live Lost Mjolnir!" The Lost Mjolnir's slogan cheered their morale as they entered the operation, like a prayer before every battle.

The ship had reached the beachside of Zandaigan island. Shino Morida and his team landed quietly.

"Scatter!"

At a single word from the team captain, the Lonewolf operation commences.
