Chu Hua's Scheme

Lu Chenjun had forgotten his phone in his office, and he just received a message.

Chu Hua picked up the phone, acting as if it belonged to her. She tried opening it, but she couldn't figure out the password.

She tried Lu Chenjun's birthday, which was wrong. She then tried her birthday, which was also wrong.

Chu Hua frowned when she realized that Lu Chenjun didn't use her birthday as the password.

'Maybe it was more simple.'

Chu Hua tried '000000', which was also incorrect. She randomly tried two more times out of frustration, and the phone locked itself for a minute.

She took a deep breath and threw the phone back onto the table.

'What could the password be?'

Chu Hua picked up the phone and stared at it for a long time. She only had one try, or else the phone would lock itself for even longer.

She thought about what was important to Lu Chenjun and decided to try another date. The date when Lu Chenjun established the LIQuan Company.

She pushed in the last number and the phone unlocked. At first, she was happy about opening the phone, but then her lips turned into a frown.

'I remembered that Lu Chenjun used to use my birthday as the password. Why did he change it?'

She opened his messages and read the new notification.

'Jin Yinghui: Chenjun, today is 5/20. Remember to come back on time for dinner. I have a surprise for you!'

She frowned, thinking about who Jin Yinghui was. She definitely heard this name before, but she couldn't remember where she heard it from.

She read the message over again and her face darkened. She completely forgot that today was 5/20, China's Valentine's day! She should be the person celebrating with Lu Chenjun today.

She looked down at the phone and read the name over again.

'Jin Yinghui?'

Suddenly, an image popped up inside her mind. About a month ago, she was scrolling through the Jin Province news and saw that Lu Chenjun was dating a singer and actress named Jin Yinghui.

'It has been a month already. Why are they still together?'

Chu Hua remembered what Lu Chenjun had told her the first day she came back.

'I think that I truly like my present girlfriend.'

She couldn't let Lu Chenjun just run off with another girl. Or else why did she make the effort to come all the way back?

Chu Hua's gaze sharpened as she stared at Lu Chenjun's phone, 'My mom finally died and I'm free now. I came all the way back to this place after nine years for Lu Chenjun. I should have come back earlier. . . I should have come back once I heard that Lu Chenjun had become the most powerful and rich man in the nation. . . It's all my mom's fault.'

She clenched her fist together as her heart filled with hate. She can't fail now because of some unknown actress.

Chu Hua raised one eyebrow and pressed down on the message. After deleting the text, she placed the phone back to its original position and walked over to the couch.

She smiled before laying down.

'It's too bad. Lu Chenjun will never know about the surprise.'

Chu Hua closed her eyes on the couch, waiting for Lu Chenjun to finish his meeting.

---

Inside the meeting room, Lu Chenjun angrily slammed his fist on the glass table, causing it to shake. Everyone in the room looked down in fear, afraid that even making a single second of eye contact will cause the monster standing in front of them to get even angrier.

"Manager Chen! How could you make such a basic error? Do you know that your one mistake will cause the entire company to lose over 10 million yuan? The entire company has to work overtime to help clean up the mess you made!" Lu Chenjun's voice echoed around the room, directed at the frightened manager.

Although everyone else sitting in the room were also angry at Manager Chen for his stupid mistake, they felt bad for him. Their boss hadn't been so mad in a long time.

Lu Chenjun frustratingly tugged at his tie before standing up.

"Manager Chen, if you don't come up with a plan to fix this error by tomorrow, you're getting fired."

With that said, Lu Chenjun angrily walked out of the room. He had completely forgotten about Chu Hua, and the meeting had lasted for nearly five hours.

When he walked out of the room, it was already half-past 6. He opened the door to his office and loudly slammed it shut.

The noise woke Chu Hua up. She rubbed her eyes a few times and sat up, looking towards the door. When she saw Lu Chenjun, she quickly stood up and walked over.

Lu Chenjun frowned at the sight of her. Did she actually stay here for five hours?

"What are you still doing here?"

Chu Hua smiled, "I was waiting for you."

Lu Chenjun put one hand up to his forehead, tired from the meeting, "I'll take you to your hotel."

Lu Chenjun walked over to his desk to grab his phone, and Chu Hua followed him.

"It's dinnertime. Let's eat together. Today is 5/20, Valentine's Day." Chu Hua couldn't prepare anything as she completely forgot about this holiday, but got the idea of eating together from Jin Yinghui.

Lu Chenjun checked his phone and knit his eyebrows together when he realized that he didn't receive any messages. He had also forgotten about Valentine's Day and only remembered after Chu Hua reminded him.

Deep in his heart, he secretly hoped that Elena would remember, and would text him "Happy 520" or remind him to go home.

However, neither of those happened, and he was left with an empty screen on his phone.

He was also getting hungry, and since Elena didn't seem to care about the holiday, he decided to accept Chu Hua's offer.

Lu Chenjun picked up his phone and took a glance at Chu Hua before walking out the door. Chu Hua happily went to go grab her bag and quickly ran out. Her plan had worked.

---

After three attempts, Elena had finally made the perfect steak. She even made brussel sprouts and grilled potatoes.

Although there wasn't much food, she knew that Lu Chenjun wouldn't eat much. He might not even finish what's on his own plate. That way, Elena could steal his serving, and she would be able to eat more.

With that thought in mind, Elena happily carried both plates onto the dining table. She also prepared all the silverware and opened a bottle of red wine she found in the pantry.

When she finished, it was almost 7 o'clock. She took off her apron and reached for her phone. Lu Chenjun had not replied to her message and he seemed to be running a bit late.

Elena placed her phone on the table, thinking, 'Maybe he is still working. I can wait for him.'

She sat down at the table, proud of her accomplishments. This was the first time she made Western food, and it turned out pretty well.

Elena picked up her phone and thought about sending Lu Chenjun another message. However, she changed her mind as she thought, 'What if he is driving right now?'

She gently put her phone down and leaned back against the chair, waiting for the front door to open.

---

Lu Chenjun slammed the car door shut after helping Chu Hua out of the car, and they walked into the Daxin Hotel together.

Chu Hua had suggested that they go eat at the restaurant in the lobby of the hotel she was staying in. She had told Lu Chenjun that this way, she could just go right up to her room after eating.

However, the true reason for why she chose to eat here was because this hotel was extremely far from the Jinlu Complex. . .
