You Can Leave

'Chu Hua?'

Chu Hua had purposefully waited a while before entering Lu Chenjun's room. She walked in wearing her nightgown and sat down on Lu Chenjun's bed.

Seeing Lu Chenjun's irritated face, Chu Hua immediately went straight into the topic.

"Chenjun, I accidentally overheard your conversation with Yinghui a while ago. I was just passing by and stopped to listen out of curiosity. I didn't listen on purpose." Chu Hua purposefully emphasized the word 'accidentally' as she spoke.

Lu Chenjun looked up at Chu Hua and sighed. When lying, it is a horrible mistake to explain too much. It makes you sound fake.

Of course, Lu Chenjun didn't want to break Chu Hua's act, so he let her continue to talk.

"I think that you should let Yinghui leave. This is just my opinion, but as a girl, I could totally understand Yinghui. If she doesn't want to stay anymore, don't make her. Give her some space and freedom."

Chu Hua paused for a second and lowered her voice, "Plus, if you don't even like her, you should just let her go. Don't waste her time. She's a girl, and she won't stay young and beautiful for a long time. If you keep her, she will blame you in the future!"

Lu Chenjun studied Chu Hua's expression before nodding, agreeing with what she was saying.

It was true. If he was planning on breaking up with Elena, he should just let her go. It wasn't fair to keep her here and waste her time.

"Okay, I'll think about what you said. Thank you. Go to sleep now, Chu Hua."

Chu Hua smiled brightly as she stood up and said, "Good night."

The entire night, both Lu Chenjun and Elena had a hard time falling asleep. Several times throughout the night, Lu Chenjun thought about secretly sneaking into Elena's room, but stopped himself.

Elena, on the other hand, didn't know how to feel. She wanted to leave, but at the same time, she was happy at the thought of Lu Chenjun not wanting her to leave.

She rolled around in her bed, wondering if she should ask again tomorrow about leaving. The only reason why she was still asking was because she didn't truly want to leave. She still had Auntie Qin here, and she also didn't have to worry about cooking or cleaning in this house.

If it weren't for these things, she would have straight-up packed her stuff and ran out of the house, not leaving Lu Chenjun any face.

She smiled as she imagined herself walking out of this house dramatically, while Lu Chenjun cried like a little kid in his room.

However, she knew that this wasn't going to happen. Elena put aside the idea of asking Lu Chenjun to leave and decided that she would just continue to stay here for now.

The next morning, Elena didn't have any scenes to film. She woke up at 9 A.M. and stared at the ceiling blankly for a minute before sitting up.

She immediately let out a small shriek of surprise when she saw Lu Chenjun sitting on the edge of her bed, looking right at her.

"Are you trying to scare me to death? What are you doing here so early in the morning?"

Lu Chenjun looked at his watch and said, "It's nine already."

"Yes, that's still early," Elena said while rubbing her eyes.

Lu Chenjun took a deep breath before saying, "I'm here to tell you that I'm allowing you to leave if you want."

Lu Chenjun stood up to leave but Elena immediately stopped him.

"What do you mean? Didn't you say I couldn't leave yesterday night?"

Lu Chenjun pursed his lips and looked down, "Don't you want to leave?"

Elena's eyes quivered slightly as she said unsure of herself, "Yes, I want to leave."

Lu Chenjun's gaze hardened, "Then you can leave."

With that, he walked out of the room without looking back and went downstairs.

Chu Hua was eating breakfast downstairs, and when she saw Lu Chenjun hastily walking towards the front door, she called out to him.

"Chenjun, come and eat breakfast!"

Chu Hua was completely ignored as she watched Lu Chenjun put on his shoes and slam the door shut behind him.

She frowned and instinctively looked towards the stairs. What happened?

Elena was still confused about Lu Chenjun's sudden agreement as she stayed in her bed. What caused him to suddenly change his mind?

Elena didn't know why she suddenly felt sad about leaving although she was the one who wanted to leave in the first place.

She got out of bed slowly and brushed her teeth, her mind still wondering why he had changed his mind.

Elena knew that it would be a shameless act to stay here when she was the one who wanted to leave.

She pulled her suitcase and her bag out of her closet and began to pack her stuff up. She wasn't hungry anymore, and she spent her entire morning putting everything into her bags.

When she was done, it was an hour before noon. She looked around her room one last time to make sure she didn't leave anything behind. Elena bit her lips to fight back the tears that were threatening to fall.

She moved all of her bags into the elevator, which proved useful at the moment. When she reached the first floor, she carried all the bags out and moved them close to the front door.

Before leaving, she decided to go say goodbye to Auntie Qin.

Elena knocked on the door twice and opened it after receiving confirmation from Auntie Qin that she could go in.

"Hello, Auntie Qin."

"Yinghui, what can I do for you?"

Elena smiled and said, "I just wanted to say goodbye. I'm leaving."

Auntie Qin's eyes widened in shock, "Why?"

Elena felt a burning sensation in her nose and she pursed her lips together in a last attempt to prevent herself from crying.

She looked down, hoping that Auntie Qin wouldn't see her cry. Her vision blurred as several tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Tell Auntie Qin what happened. I'll help you. Who bullied you?"

Elena looked up and smiled, "No one bullied me, Auntie Qin. I was the one that wanted to leave. Don't worry, I'll come and visit you often."

Auntie Qin furrowed her eyebrows, not really believing what Elena was saying. Elena knew that if she stayed any longer, she wouldn't want to leave anymore.

She wiped her tears away and said, "Goodbye, Auntie Qin. It was really nice to get to live with you the past month."

Auntie Qin knew that Elena's mind was made up, and she helped Elena carry her luggage out the door and to the sidewalk.

After all her stuff was put into the trunk, Elena hugged Auntie Qin one last time before entering the car.

She turned on the engine and waved goodbye to Auntie Qin with a smile.

Elena stepped onto the gas pedal and quickly drove away, afraid that if she stayed any longer she wouldn't want to leave anymore.

From the back mirror, she could make out Auntie Qin standing in front of the house, and her vision began to blur once again.

Lifting one hand up from the steering wheel, she wiped her eyes and took a deep breath.

'This is my decision, so stop being so dramatic. It is good that I am leaving. I can't fall even deeper into Lu Chenjun's trap.'

Elena turned her steering wheel to the right and watched as the house disappeared from her view.
