Getting Set Up

Xuelian and I walked through the entrance into the starting area. There were thousands of players standing around. From the number of people at the start of the event it seemed like there was only about half as many players here.

Walking through the area we were greeted by a player who was helping set up the meeting. The player asked us for our names and after checking their registry directed us over to the far side of the area, near the outer circle.

To make this meeting work a network of players was created; each player either acted as a transmitter picking up what was said or acted as a receiver who would then broadcast the sound out to the crowd using their crystals.

It was an elaborate set up that took advantage of the crystals. Though in the base game there were the [spell scrolls] that could create a wide range of unorthodox effects. There was one spell scroll that could allow one's voice to be projected. Since the start of the event the location of these scrolls is not known.

We sat down on the ground. It would be another hour before the meeting would start.
