Chapter One: Ling Tian

Ling Tian jolted awake. His head pained with indescribable discomfort as if it was going to split half.

After the discomfort vanished, Ling Tian found himself resting in the bed, in a room which sized 2x2.

The room consists of broken furniture, a dimly lighted lamp, a mirror, and an intermittent clothing ancient wardrobe. The room looked extremely poor. As if it's the house of a struggling commoner.

[At last, I had thoroughly tugged my soul away from the Heaven's Will, despite expending a billion years in that tormenting pain.]

Ling Tian, the Divine Emperor, the man that dominates the Nigh Eternal Domain one billion years ago, died. The Heaven Will plucked his last drop of life force to DEATH.

Even if Ling Tian was the person who was closest to Eternal Life, he was still unable to step the Eternal Realm and perished.

But Ling Tian was reluctant to die just like that. Thus he defies heaven, which would seize his soul away from him.

He suffered tormenting pain for defying the will of heaven, where he spent one billion years in the void, tortured by pain. Only then he managed to seize his soul away one billion years after the Will of Heaven weaken.

"What happened that made Will of Heaven suffered and shrank as times pass?"

Ling Tian was puzzled how Heaven's Will diminished. He only knew after 800 million years dwelling in the void, the Heaven's Will started to shrank. And only 200 million years after that, the Will of Heaven was unable to restrain him from reincarnating with his intact memories, and thus he drifted in the reincarnation river with his memories in.

Ling Tian collapsed in the bed, looking at the unfamiliar walls, he closest his eyes to digest the unfamiliar memory flooded in his head.

This memory belongs to the boy name Li Lin.

That boy named Li Lin was 15 years old and this year will he hit 16 years of age. He was a son of fisherman that coincidentally read a book of martial arts that made him passionate about martial arts. He attempted to cultivate but after a year of effort he still did not sense the so-called Qi that was lectured in the book.

Feeling anguished, he encourages himself even more. But, after another three years of effort he still did not succeed.

Surprisingly, Ling Tian looked at his body and nodding his head that this was the body of the boy Li Lin in the memories.

He was silent for a moment before concluded.

"So that's mean I instead possessed the body of this boy Li Lin instead of being reborn as a child. This is truly unbelievable. Is it because of the weakening of Heaven's Will that instead of being reborn again as a child I possessed this random body? Mhm, there's no other best reason than this, then that should be the case."

Ling Tian scans the memories again and learns his situation.

According to the memory of Li Lin, this is the Difficult Dao Era and the place he was currently at was the Star Region, Mortal Province, where the mortals resided.

Due to Li Lin's passion for martial arts, he read every single book that talks about the legend, history of martial arts.

Hence, the reason that this era was the Difficult Dao Era was that the Heaven and Earth Qi hampered. In the whole eras, this era was the only era that made martial arts struggles to sense Heaven and Earth Qi without a martial art.

Also the reason Li Lin's spirit crushed due to him being born mortal, although he shook his head many times that sensing the Qi with martial art is definitely not credible. But after his years of effort he still unable to sense Qi due to him not having martial art.

But luckily, mortals were not discarded with those people that had martial arts to cultivate, only that they need to go through a talent testing in order to be a disciple in a certain sect and received a martial art of immortals.

But most of the mortals were not talented, Li Lin is included in that list.

Martial Talent was gifted at their birth, and only those who were blessed by heavens could have this talent. For instance, he, Ling Tian, was blessed with exceptional talent.

Not every people could possess "Talent" at their birth, in fact, those people who are low-birth are even the unluckiest to be born without talent, only a few of them could have talents for martial arts. They could train martial arts, but only external martial arts and not internal Martial Arts of immortals. Thus, having a talent for martial arts tell you that you had the potential of cultivating. That's the reason why the Immortals Sect built talent testing for mortals in order not to waste time for those untalented.

As a result, most people were unable to strides their path in martial arts, even Lu Lin who had the passion of martial arts.

Ling Tian sighed for his pitiful story.

This boy Li Lin undergoes his fourth time of talent testing of the Immortal Sects of yearly recruitment a year ago, but still resulted of him having no talent to martial arts even no matter what he did, undergoing the test for four times in four consecutive recruitment, he was destined to be a mortal. Because of that, he was mocked by others of Mortal Region for being dumb enough to undergo four times of talent awakening of the yearly disciple recruitment of the sect despite knowing that he had no talent. He was the first in the history of the yearly recruitment that had the tendency of undergoing the test even though he already knew that he had no talent for martial arts, to begin with.

Ling Tian inadvertently looks at the bedsheet full of tears and the blood that was seeping out of his wrist and lamented.

Because of the reason for the fusion of his soul and the boy Li Lin somehow Ling Tian also feels the passion and grief of Li Lin. Thus looking at the wound on his wrist, Ling Tian knew that the boy Li Lin died by cutting his wrist to end his life. Perhaps he could no longer feel any hope of being a martial arts due to the constant mockery of others.

"Little boy Li Lin your dream that you were unable to accomplish, I will accomplish it for you. I will use your body as a witness that I, the Divine Emperor, promise you that I will use your body to stroll the 3000 vast worlds of your wish." Ling Tian smiled as he opened the ancient wardrobe and switched clothes due to the blood that dyed his cloth.

He grabbed a white shabby robe as he stepped outside.

"Last year, you underwent talent testing. And this year will be your last of eligibility of talent testing. Thus, since today was the day of talent testing from those Immortal sects. I will show them that you are not trash!"

Ling Tian smiled as he leisurely stepped outside the wrecked house.

The immortal sects talent testing are only eligible for youths ranging to 10 years old and 15-year-old to undergo talent testing. And since Li Lin was 15 this year, this was his last attempt at talent testing from the immortal sects.

"Perhaps you thought that it's better to die rather than finding out in the last attempt that you still had no talent of martial arts. Sigh, Li Lin, since this emperor had possessed your body, I will give my best to accomplish your goal even you had left in this world....."
