Heir apparent

The queens screams filled the hall, the maids were running back and forth frantically, the healers didn't know if their magic would be enough. Seven children had come easily and with relatively no complications, but this one was making up for all the good fortune of its siblings. The king stood in the corner of the room watching impassively, the red hair and eyes of his blood line making a striking figure, the servants and healers dared to not even look in his direction while they attended the queen. The head midwife and healer knew that if this birth ended badly for either the babe or mother, that red haired devil in the corner would separate her head from her shoulders so fast, she stopped the thought and focused her magic into the queen, she could not fail. While doing her very best to focus her mind on keeping the queens heart beating, while holding back the blood trying to pour out between her legs, she told the queen, "Push!". And with all her might the queen complied. And a prince with blood red hair, a shade deeper than his fathers emerged into the world. A maid gave a gentle tug and the new prince was out and swaddled in a towel. The midwife was focused on using her magic, even if it took every last drop to see the queen up and keep the blood she had inside, even if she died from overuse it was worth it to keep this woman alive. Even in her intense focus on the queen, she heard the gasp of the maid who had caught the babe. She only heard it because there was not another sound in the room and she realized the temperature was dropping due to the massive killing intent moving towards her. "My king the babe lives, he's jus- just". The maid stammered and the queen finally roused and said "He's what!" And the maid turned and reveled the babe to the queen and the midwife. And there was a babe in her arms looking around inquisitively, not crying just curious, but when he laid his little eyes on the midwife, her and the queen both gasped. The midwife due to this terrible pressure she felt on her mind and the queen because of her sons eyes. In the middle of the red eyes you could see the image of a dragon. A laugh broke the silence in the room and the maid almost dropped the baby. Unbeknownst to anyone else the king had moved around them, probably to kill the nursemaid but he could clearly see the baby. He lifted him high and laughed again. And in a soft voice to not scare his son but with the authority of a king he said this, I name you Skye, son of Raizen, heir apparent to the throne of Diangles. And the jaws of all in attendance dropped, never before had a babe, last in line, been named heir apparent. And the queen for a moment swore that her son, just a few minutes old, smiled.
