Nothing

On any girls wedding day, all she wants is for everything to go smoothly. Some bumps happen and stuff can always go wrong. But for Anastasia, everything went wrong. Half and hour after the wedding was to have started her groom, Victor, hadn't shown up. The families started to leave trying to offer condolences and apologizing for how the day went. When Victors oldest friend Barry, the best man dropped a bomb on the rest of the wedding party. Last night at the bachelor party a woman approached Victor, and told him she was pregnant with his baby. Victor left with her telling Barry not to worry and everything would be handled. Anastasia burst out sobbing, demanding to know why Barry hadn't spoken up sooner. He apologized and left with everyone glaring at him. Over the course of the day Anastasia refused to leave the church. Clinging to her hope that it was a cruel joke, her hope that Victor would show up. Eventually all the guests had left, and she sat out on the steps of the church, letting the rain ruin her beautiful wedding gown. Watching the rain wash the "just married" paint off the back glass of the rental car Anastasia slowly got angrier and angrier. She though Victor had loved her, yet he tossed her aside so easily. As the anger built up, she began to tear pieces off her dress. First ripping off the skirt, then the little gemstones, the sleeves, the ruffles, and all the lace. As she walked to her car she tore off piece after piece, until all she wore was the little slip that was under the gown. She refused to be sad for one more moment, if Victor could so easily toss her aside she would do the same. She resolved to never allow herself to love again, never wanting to be used again. It's been two years since she was left at the alter, and no man has made it anywhere near her frozen heart.

Anastasia's lived alone for two years, and still Shes afraid of the silence. She hasn't seen anyone in almost a month, and most of her free time she paints. Since Victor left her at the alter Anastasia has been focusing on Her art and got pretty well known in some smaller circles. Hoping to get big someday, right now she's living off commissions for small celebs and museums. Shes been working on one for an anonymous client lately. A single crow in the branches of a willow tree at night. As shes working on the painting Her phone rings.

"Hey you wanna go out with me and Sam tonight?" Bunny, Anastasia's oldest friend is still trying to set her up with guys. even ones at bars. "Bunbun, you know that's not my ideal night. Clubs and bars are just too much noise and too many people. what if I meet you at my favorite coffee shop and we have pastries and tea?" The phone is silent for a few moments before Bunny speaks up. "It's not a club, but I wanna see you. It's the one closest to your place right? Café Amare?" Anastasia's smiling as she hears Bunnys car start over the phone. "Yea, I'll bring some pajamas since I can walk and I'll come home with you for a few days. I feel like getting out of my studio would be good for me." She's already packing as bunny squeals into the phine. Anastasiaknew she would be excited for her to stay. "I'm gonna leave now, I'll be at the cafe in ten since it two blocks away. see you soon Bunbun byeeee" Anastasia starts out the door as Bunny says goodbye and hangs up. Making sure her door is locked Anastasia sets off for Café Amare.

The sun is low in the sky but it's still light out, so Anastasia has no problem with walking two blocks to the café. She knows she'll get there about fifteen minutes before Bunny anyway. The walk passes quickly with no hiccups and she heads in to wait for bunny. Anastasia sits quietly at a table in the corner of the coffee shop and pulls out her sketchbook to draw in while she waits for Bunny. Focusing intently on her drawing Anastasia barely notices that a strange man has sat across from her.

"I have a friend coming and she'll be needing that seat if you don't mind." Speaking coldly and without looking up she expected the stranger to leave. Instead he's trying to strike up a conversation. "Well your friend isn't here yet right? wouldn't it be okay for me to sit here until she arrives?" His accent is heavy with Russian and Germanic roots, deep and soft. The man waits for a response but Anastasia continues to draw like she hasn't noticed he didn't move right away. Feeling indignant the man places his hand on Anastasia's sketchbook and tries again to start a conversation. "My name is Dimitri Petrov. I'm new to this area I was born and raised in Germany. It's nice to meet you miss?" Anastasia was agitated with him immediately but now this stranger had gone to far. Pulling her bookout from under his hand quickly, causing Dimitri to crack his head on the table Anastasia responded curtly. "Ive asked you nicely to leave me alone. But if you insist on sitting here I ask that you don't talk to me and to please leave when my friend arrives." Anastasia spoke without looking at him only moving her sketchbook to her lap and continuing to draw. The man stared at her, dumbstruck by how rude she was, deciding not to give up he spoke more. "It's rude not to tell a gentleman your name when he asks. I only want a small conversation." Anastasia did not speak this time, instead chasing to ignore him. Dimitri huffed with agitation and tried again. "Miss please I mean you no harm or disrespect. I don't know anyone here and I'm trying to make myself some friends, or acquaintances." Anastasia sighed with relief as Bunny approached the table, hoping she would shoo away this irritating man. Instead Bunny pulled up and extra chair and began talking to him.

For the first time since he sat down Anastasia looked at the man, Dimitri, and noticed how strikingly handsome he is. Without realizing she began to draw him. "his face is gorgeous" she thought to herself as she drew his high cheekbones and piercing blue eyes, his shoulders are broad, he's a large man indeed but it's muscle with a thin layer of fat. As Anastasia Draws she doesn't realize that the conversation has shifted to her. "ANNE!" Bunny snaps the sketchbook closed bringing Anastasia back to reality. "How could you be so rude to this man? Introduce yourself at least, he only wants some small talk girl!" Bunny shakes her playfully and smiles as Anastasia laughs for the first time on't a long time. "ALRIGHT! Alright haha. My name is Anastasia Meyer, I was born here in the states. your name is very Russian sounding for you to be a german." Anastasia puts her sketchbook away as she speaks. not fully expecting a response to her statement. "My father was Russian, he moved to Germany in his early twenties and met my mother there. I'm named after my grandfather." Dimitris eyes wander all over Anastasia. She's not a slender woman but that doesn't mean she's not attractive. "That explains your name sounding Russian. My family comes from Germany. I'm first generation american." as she spoke Dimitri eyed her more, taking special note of her large breasts, her face has soft features and striking blue eyes. She trailed off talking to bunny about her work, and he listened as he undressed her with his eyes. Her thick thighs, and large rear are perfect for his tastes. She's even wearing a skimpy spaghetti strap dress, showing plenty while leaving plenty to his imagination. "I'd like to see more of you, Anastasia please take my number, you can contact me for help with anything" he paused only for a moment looking her up and down again "And I do mean anything." sliding a card across the table Dimitri stands up to leave, and Bunny slips a small piece of paper into his hand. He only looks at it once the two ladies have left "Here is her number ×××-×××-×××× she won't call you but you should call her"

At Bunny's place all that she can talk about is how obvious it was that Dimitri was into Anastasia. "Did you SEE the way he looked at you?" Bunny dances around excitedly trying to get Anastasia to celebrate too. "You mean like a piece of meat Bunbun? I saw him eyeing me up yes, and I won't say that I wasn't doing the same. But you know how I am about men now." Anastasia spoke softly as she set up a comfy pallet of blankets for her and Bunny. "It won't happen every time you know." Bunny froze as the words left her mouth, wishing she could take them out of the air as soon as she spoke. "Anne, I didn't mean that.." Anastasia shook her head as she layed out a blanket. "I should have expected this." she mumbled softly as tears began to roll down her cheeks. "Expected what?" Bunny turns to look at Anastasia as she throws a blanket down. "This. Every time this. Yes ever since he who shall not be named left me at the alter I have been afraid of a comitted relationship. But I think that's totally reasonable. There is always the chance it won't happen again, but there is also the chance it will. And I don't wanna go through that again." Anastasia tosses around blankets as she tries to hold back tears, thinking of that day always makes her emotional. "Anna Banana. You know I didn't mean it that way. I just hate seeing you shut Every one else out. Out of all the people who are still around you I know you best. I can see you're miserable like this. I know you miss sharing your bed at night." Anastasia collapses onto the couch and thinks for a moment. "I will admit I'm still lonely. But I don't know how to trust a man again. After Vic did me that way, I vowed to never let another man get the chance." Speaking softly she travels off into her own thoughts, while Bunny texts the number Dimitri left from Anastasia's phone. "You are going on a date Anastasia" Bunny smiles looking pleased with herself as she hands Anastasia her phone. "What did you do?!" Anastasia snaps out of her monologue "Bunny how could you do this to me? And with that total stranger!" Anastasia texts Dimitri frantically trying to explain that it wasn't her who set up the date. Dimitri texts back swiftly only startling Anastasia more. "Well I hope you'll still honor the date because I am looking forward to seeing you again." Looking at Bunny shocked Anastasia asks. "What am I even going to wear? You set it up for tomorrow and I only have this dress and my pajamas! I don't even know this guy Bunny!" Taking Anastasias hands bunny starts dancing happily. "You silly bitch you can wear one of my dresses you know we wear the same size and I have so many! You said you were to scared to try so I tried for you, all you gotta do is go on a date!" They rummaged through Bunnys closet for hours before settling on an aqua blue sundress for a casual date on a summer evening.
