In Love with a Shapeshifter (part 19)

"Karla? Is that you? I haven't seen you since you were a baby." She says in a whispered like voice

"Hellen, its good to see you." I say. She opens her eyes to look at me and there deep blue. The color of a dark ocean.

"Please call me Ell."

She lifts her hand up and touches my cheek.

"Ellen, did dad see you earlier?" I ask.

"Yeah. He visited for a little while."

"Did he say were he was going when he left?" I ask

"No, all he said was ' Goodbye sis, stay well' and gave me a kissed on the cheek and left."

I look at Evan who was in the corner of the room look at a magazine

"Who's that?" Asked Ell.

"That Evan, my boyfriend." I say with hesitation. He smiles and gets up and comes over.

"Nice to meet you Hellen." He grabs my aunts hand and holds it gently but firm.

"Nice to meet you to. You better keep her safe, because I won't be they to."

"Wait, what do you mean?" I ask.

"My time living on this earth is going to end very shortly." She says about to shed a tear.

"Ell,please don't go. We just meet for the first time in forever."

"I'm sorry dear, you've been gone for to long, my time is almost up."

I start shedding some tears. Its the worse thing to have someone you just meet, say there time is almost up.

"I'll visit you. I'll bring flowers and will talk and pick up on the things we missed, I promise." I put my head oh her shoulder.

"Karla, its time to go." Says Evan. I lift up my head, I kiss Ell on the forehead and head towards the door.

"We'll visit. We'll bring bored games, coloring books, everything that is fun. I promise." I say looking back at her.

"Im sure looking forward to it." She says.

We leave and close the door behind me.
