How did you breed them

Red sighed and wiped the sweat from his brow, "wow the doctor did actually create a monster. I won't lie if I had to fight him one on one, I wouldn't like my chances".

"I am afraid you are right. If I was pushed to my limit I would be able to kill him but I would probably have to sacrifice my life to do so. Is vitality and endurance is off the charts, these knives are coated with poison and it took 21 of them to take him down. Plus Black was shooting him with tranquilizers the whole time" noted Gray as he pointed to Roman's back which was covered in needles.

"Yes, he did quiet the number on you too" said black as he entered the room from the other side of the doorway. "Restrain him and get him back to the transport" said black as he knelt over the unconscious target.

"Not so fast, where do you think you're going with that young man" asked Charmaine as she cocked the shotgun that was in her hand. Black stepped in front of the other two and removed his cap.

"First of all let me apologize for invading your house and ransacking the place. We should have taken more precaution during this operation, I completely understand your confusion and anger. Now that gun in your hand, if you were not aware we are from Prometheus and are carrying out a mission on their behalf. If you interfere whatsoever you will become an enemy of the state and you will be punished".

Charmaine understood her situation and put the shotgun on the floor and Black told her good choice before dismissing himself. "Wait, what will happen to him" asked Lizzy as she walked from behind her grandmother but Night Raid paid her no attention and left without another word. Elizabeth eyes became red and she began tearing up.

"Hush now baby, that is how life goes. You have to know when to hold your cards and when to fold them" she whispered as she patted her granddaughter's back.

[A few hours have passed, Night Raid has returned to the base and briefed the higher ups on what took place. General Nash (Ares division leader) had finished up securing his area and was returning to the base. Dr. Regor was not made aware of the return of Subject CMLXXIV but the council had the Athens division run diagnostic on the subject and they one again summoned the doctor to the interrogation room].

Damn, I must be in trouble again thought Dr. Regor as he pushed in the room door. I am actively beginning to dislike this room he mumbled as sat down in front of the table and waited for the council. "Dr. Regor, I hope your research has been going smoothly since the last time we saw you" said a voice over the speakers.

"Well, yes there have been some slightly more humanoid specimens and not only that but..." Dr. Regor started to get a little hyper but then he was cut off but the voice over the speaker.

"That is excellent but that is not the topic of this meeting. Last time we asked you about how your subjects were made you told us about a serum being injected into human zygotes but we have reason to scrutinize this information you gave us. Out of tribute to your apparent years of loyalty we will offer you the benefit of the doubt and give you a chance at redemption. Think carefully about your answer we will only ask you once, how exactly are your specimens made/bred" questioned the voice in a serious tone that carried heavy threats behind them.

Dr. Regor lost his playful and nonchalant posture, he became serious knowing his life was on the line if the council was not pleased. He took a deep breath and started from the beginning "my initial scientific process was to take a fully formed human zygote and inject it with different variations of Serum X to strengthen the subject and the zygote is then artificially grown at an accelerated rate. This process had varying results but overall it was not viable, the subjects from this were strong and fast but their cells were unstable and would perform apoptosis at an uncontrolled rate. This severely decrease their live expectancy, meaning they could live anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks. After tweaking the formula, I made Serum L which blocked the cellular message that caused apoptosis, this seemed like it would work but the serum also blocked the cellular message that caused cells to perform mitosis, meaning the specimens had lost the ability to regenerate meaning all damage was permanent and the overall strength of the subject were lower than previously. At this point they were still entirely human".

The doctor took a sip of water before continuing his story. "Okay, so this was about the first time General Nash and his team had returned with a captured Breach. I somewhat lost interest in my work and began to play around with the breach, it was then that I discovered the super healing factor of the Breaches. This reignited my drive and I tried to recreate this healing in my subjects but I couldn't figure it out. After some time I began transplanting organs to see if maybe one of the breach organs where what was responsible for their heightened healing ability.

Not surprisingly the human subject's body rejected the foreign organs. After a few more rejections I figured if interspecies transplanting was not possible I would make a new species that was a hybrid of the two but this was far harder than projected. Breaches are asexual reproduces so they didn't have any sperm, so I had to make sperm. Which was the hardest part, I had to take breach non specialized stem cells and divide the DNA. This was the most complicated part because I was basically using trial and error to try and delete the repeated DNA sequences. This took months but I got it done but I faced another problem, I was able to add the artificial sperm to a human egg but cellular division would not occur and in the odd time when mitosis did occur it was uncontrolled and ended up making a gray lifeless blob.

This went on for weeks on end and like fate the Ares division brought me the break through I needed once again. They brought back an infected woman from one of their missions, the infected cells behaved different from normal human cells, these infected cells had a new cell structure that was similar to that of a breach. I hypothesized that maybe the eggs of these infected may be able to support the breach DNA. I was right after a few hundred errors I had a creature that was fast, strong, that could heal, the only problem was the subjects were invalid mentally and that was when Project Kadmus had officially began.

The process for making the subjects has still not perfected because sometimes even when their bodies are functioning the creature is not sentient or just unintelligent. The only seemimgly successful subject is the one that escaped, Subject CMLXXIV and until we catch him and study him we will be able to say what exactly was done differently with him" an eerie silence blanketed the room as the doctor finished talking almost as though the council was evaluating his story.

"Ok that seems to be in line with what the Athens division reported about Subject CMLXXIV" reported the voice over the speaker. "Wait a second, that sounds as though you guys have recaptured him" asked the doctor he got up enthusiastically.

"That is correct" responded the voice. " Well will I be allowed to finish my research with him" asked the doctor as he began smiling. "Sure you can get back the subject after Athens is done with it" replied the voice. Regor quickly left the room before the council had an opportunity to change their minds with a wide smile spread across his face.

{Infecteds}

After the dimensional gateway opened the surrounding area was over run by vine like tendrils that covered everything in a radius of 45 km around the portal. The vines seem relatively harmless but the actually released a microscopic spore like substance that spreads through the body and turn human who breath it into husks of their formal selves and they become increasingly unstabe leading to violent tendencies. These infected lost all their personality traits and basically became a walking sponge, incapable of thought and just driven by primal desires. The infected's cell structure changes slowing becoming less and less human. Allowing for the cell to harmonize with the breach DNA, this was what allowed doctor Regor's expirament to be successful and aided in the creation of a brand new interspecies warrior.
