The Mission

"Wake up Newbie." A cooling sensation suddenly splashed onto the half naked Marx who sprung right out of his bed trying to figure out what had just happened. Yuno stood at the foot of his bed blushing.

"Put some clothes on you dimwit." Marx still trying to understand what was happening looked down and realized he was only wearing his underwear.

"Well maybe you shouldn't have woken me up that damned water!" Marx pointed at Yuno angry with her decision. "Anyways, I feel like I worked to hard on this body to not show it off every once in a while." Marx stood tall and looked proud of himself. 'Wow, I never though talking to a girl would be this easy' Marx thought.

"YOU PERVERT!" Yuno put her hands out towards Marx and began chanting a spell.

"Wait, I'll put on some clothe...." A water spell flowed from her hands taking Marx out the window of the base, his room was on the second floor. He landed in the trees falling branch to branch. It felt anything but nice.

"You Ok, Newbie?" Yuno called from the broken window as if she wasn't the person who just threw him out of it.

Marx laid on the ground thinking if he should respond. Fortunately the branches broke his fall, but they did end up leaving a lot of scrapes.

"Summon Grimoire." He muttered, so she couldn't hear him. "Angelic Breath" He used his healing spell, and he was feeling himself again. "Light foot." Using quite a lot of mana to teleport back up to his room, he snuck up behind Yuno and kicked her out of his room.

"Ha, That's what you get!" Marx started throwing on his clothes and ran out of his room as fast as he could. He was not dealing with her before having other people around.

Marx ran down to the main room, where everyone sat and talked getting ready to leave for the mission.

"Hey, where is Yuno?" Kilo was the first to point that Marx returned alone.

"Uhm, she'll be here soon." Marx sat down next to everyone else and joined in the small talk. Within moments the front doors were slammed open and a person with an aura that reeked of bloodlust walked through.

"MARX, YOU DAMNED..." Ray stood up and looked at her.

"I don't know what happened, but you're gonna sit down and wait till later to work out whatever you guys have to, unless you need me to." Ray looked over at Marx and Yuno, and it didn't look good at all.

Yuno rushed over and sat down with everyone else instantly changing her mood, it was crazy how much of an impression Ray had on everyone.

"Alright kids, our mission today is simple. We're going into Uslo Village and retrieving a mage by the name of Ricardo Vange. No causing a commotion or making a riot, got it?" Everyone replied with a simple 'yes sir' , but Marx wondered why they were retrieving him.

"Uhm, Sir, why exactly are we reprimanding this Vange guy?" Everyone looked at him like he was out of place.

"When given a mission you don't question the king's order. That's the end of it." Ray looked calm, but was giving off this aura that you shouldn't ask anymore questions.

"Alright guys, are you prepared?" Ray stood up dragging along Jericho, the teleportation user. "Alright Jericho, conjure up that portal." He tapped his foot waiting for the kid to use his spell.

"Teleportation Magic- Uslo Village" A large door appeared and opened and on the other end was the village.

"Come on guys, we'll meet back up at this gate in two hours. At least I think that's how long this spell lasts." Ray jumped through the portal with Jericho leaving them all behind.

"Well I guess that means we'll take team of two, Smoke and Hiro, Me and Daligur, Rebecca and Ora, and Yuno and Marx. Sorry you two just seemed perfect to pair." Kilo started laughing, but Yuno looked mad.

"Who said you were in charge. If I remember, I have been her the longest." She stuck her youngest out at him and crossed her arms.

"Well guess who's the co-leader of this squad." Kilo continued to tease her about how he was better than her.

"Whatever, I guess I can deal with this commoner for a couple hours." Putting her head to the side, you could tell she was angry.

The other teams jumped into the portal.

"Well what are you waiting for rookie, you better be ready to handle yourself in a fight. This Ricardo Vange doesn't seem to be wanting to return to the king, so it's our job to bring him there ourselves." She put out her hand for Marx to grab. Marx grabbed it and she threw him into the portal. The strength seemed to be unrealistic for such a girl to have.

Marx landed face first on the other side of the portal. "What the hell was that for!" Marx turned around and started yelling at Yuno.

Yuno elegantly flicked her hair "Thought I would get some payback for you kicking me out that window."

"IF I RECALL YOU USED A SPELL AND SENT ME FLYING OUT THE WINDOW FIRST!" Yuno seemed calm by the situation.

"Well maybe you shouldn't go around half naked flexing yourself in front of girls." She was stubborn. That was for sure.

"Well whatever. Let's just look for this Ricardo dude." Marx thought 'if I was some mage hiding out in a small village where would I hide?' Marx looked around, and saw three key points that looked interesting. A dried out well on the edge of the village, the rubble of a church, and a cave on the cliff from a distance from the village. But from the mana readings, Marx could tell his teammates were at the church and the cave.

"Well, let's go check that well out. It looks awfully suspicious." Marx walked up to it eyeing everything about it.

"What are you doing. This is a waste of time. This is just a well." Yuno stood there as Marx worked his way around the well.

"You're a water magic user, can you sense any water at the bottom of this?" Marx looked down and just saw darkness.

"Now that you say it, There isn't any water, well let me know if you see anything down there." Without another word Yuno pushed ,the already leaning in, Marx into the well.

A loud thud hit the bottom and Yuno yelled down. "You still alive Newbie?"

"Light Magic- Flying Lantern." A lantern appeared and sure enough a large carver that branched our was at the bottom.

"Yeah I'm Ok, but you should come down here and check this out." Yuno dropped in using fortifying magic to ease the landing.

"Wow, you got a sharp eye. I'll make sure to tell the leader after we capture this guy." The two began walking through the long cave system in order to find where they were going.

Ray and Jericho walked around the village asking questions, but the only thing they could muster up was mysterious disappearances. They also found out that the well they used suddenly dried out. That seemed like a good start to them. They walked to the edge of the village where the well was and suddenly a massive surge of mana exploded From it.

"That's from Marx, what the hell did he get himself into already." Ray jumped down, holding Jericho who held in for his life.
