A storm is coming

Wei Yuan stretched out his body and yawned, then opened the door. The assistant looked at him from bottom to the top. The boy before him was definitely not Wei Yuan, he thought.

"A-are you Wei Yuan?"

"Yes, I'm indeed Wei Yuan."

"I came to check on your progress. What happened to you?"

Now this is something hard to answer. Wei Yuan didn't knew that his appearance will change so much after he slept for two months. He can't say random things to the assistant because he directly reported everything to the elders and the sect master. The sect master then would summon him and interrogate him about everything. Now, that was something he definitely wanted to avoid, but he still needed to give a good answer. He decided to tell a half truth, half lie.

"As you know. I started learning a lot about Qi in these months. One day I wanted to create a new technique, but failed. My heart almost stopped and my hair color changed to white as a result."

This answer was a bit vague, but the assistant accepted it for now. He will still report to the elders later. They will then summon Wei Yuan and interrogate him. He will just say that he wanted to created a breathing technique and ended up failing. Then the elders probably would ask him how he wanted to create the technique. Wei Yuan gives them a totally different technique and everything is safe after that.

INSIDE THE PAGODA OF THE SECT MASTER

Just as Wei Yuan expected, the assistant ran back to the sect master and the elders to report everything. The elders waved to him to come closer and speak.

"I visited Wei Yuan just as the sect master and the elders instructed me. Honestly, he is still on the same stage, but something changed. He told me that he tried to create a new technique, but failed and he almost died. His hair turned to white and I almost didn't recognize him. He said that he failed, but I think it's the opposite, he seems ridiculously strong now. I believe it would be better if the elders see it with their own eyes."

"Okay, summon Wei yuan here, no matter what he does currently. Don't get swayed by his words. Just remember that he's a true trickster, don't let him make excuses."

"Understood"

The assistant walked out of the pagoda and immediately visited Wei Yuan, he told him that the elders wants to see him no matter what. Surprisingly, Wei Yuan just nodded and followed the assistant. They reached the pagoda and knocked on the door.

"Wei Yuan is here!"

The doors opened and the same dark room with a hexagonal table greeted Wei Yuan. He sat down on the wooden chair. The elders frowned when they saw his new appearance. It was not just his hair, but his height changed too. That technique definitely did something to him. His aura was now also different, not human anymore. The surrounding atmosphere also greatly changed when he entered the room. Wei yuan unconsciously manipulated the Qi around him and this created a unique pressure. The grand elder succesfully came out of his daze after a while and started speaking.

"I believe you already know why we summoned you here."

"Yes"

Thus, they started discussing. Surprisingly, the elders didn't pressure him too much. They just asked a few questions in order to appease their own curiosity and accepted the answers even if it was not good. Wei Yuan was more than happy with this. The elders probably already knew that he successfully created a new technique. They just didn't know what this technique can do. The grand elder ended the discussion and he changed back to his childish personality. The sect master stood up and started speaking.

"We decided that you can have your own little secrets, we can't do much even if we know about it and we have no right to know. You are a good disciple and we don't want to force anything."

Wei Yuan bowed and left with a smile on his face. The sect master and the elders won't bother him anymore. It was understandable, he was probably the only one who was forced like this. The elders and the sect master knew that they can't continue like this if they wanted a good relationship with Wei Yuan.

Wei Yuan was just about to enter the library when he got an unexpected mental message from the grand elder of his family.

"The princess visited our family today, she said that you are still alive and she wants to help us. She wants us to get close to you."

Wei Yuan started grinning when he heard this

"Oh? Then let's cooperate with her. Send me a mental message after you know about her plan."

"Understood."

A few months ago Wei Yuan and the princess traded information. He lied to the princess and said that the Wei family thinks that they succesfully killed him. The princess still thinks that this is true and now she wants to use the Wei family to catch Wei Yuan off guard and kill him. Little did he know that Wei Yuan controlled the Wei family behind the shadows.

A storm is coming and this storm will devour the whole Xun continent.
