Chapter 13

(AN: So after you have read this chapter and still did not like about what I did to the last chapter then you are free to drop the book. Also, no chaps tomorrow because I have a slight fever but then, regular 3 updates will be back once I'm at least fine.)

When I faced the girls once again to give their orders, a gleam in my vision caught my eye. I had missed a unique notification, that was a heart with hairline fractures, earlier from my distress.

As I focused on it, there was a small pink orb that emerged from Kouko's chest and lifted towards me. I caught it using my inventory and tried to identify what it was.

[You have received Kouko Kaga's [Heart Orb]. As she is in great distress both mentally and emotionally, this orb will aid in your endeavor to resolve her anguish.]

Not caring that she gazed at me with a hopeful look, while her eyes showed some signs of crying, I decided to investigate this [Heart Orb] mentally.

[This [Heart Orb] was received from (Kouko Kaga).

A unique Orb that was formed from the fears and greatest worries of the one with which the Orb is connected to. This allows one to remotely view the source of these feelings and emotions without the passage of time.]

Still facing them and holding their order, I was curious about it and decided to click and use it mentally.

Suddenly, time stopped. Like I'm the only one left moving, everyone was paused. This made me slightly frightened for a moment, as it was like the time when I almost died...

This didn't happen when I checked her chart before, but when I came back and faced her again, this transpired when I used the orb...

Then, the orb floated towards my palm and waited. Instinctively I knew it wanted me to crush it, and so I did.

The place I'm currently standing changed and I returned to the past. Yes, a month ago, the day I got in an accident...

"Wait... Is that me?"

It was almost like I became a ghost, an observer that can freely roam anywhere I please, both invisible and intangible. I followed the recent me before running towards the party that I was about to attend. What stopped me from following, however, was a man I spotted trying to stalk me.

I float towards him, he was talking on the phone and I can clearly hear what they are talking about.

"Target has already reached the location... What should I do?" The mysterious hooded man asked.

"Give me a signal once he is at the door and about to open it." The caller answered.

This time, I scowled as I continue to follow the past me. Just like what happened last time, when I had opened the door, they were kissing as my classmates were clapping...

But I was wrong all along.

They didn't kiss.

Kouko managed to move her lips away and the man only brushed her cheeks. She was crying while mumbling "Please don't kill him..."

A sigh escaped from my lips as I started to think about what really happened... She was protecting me all along... I was stalked by a hitman hired by our rich classmate...

"Do they need to kill me just to have Kouko? I know how pathetic and weak I was, but really, kill me??"

I thought while making the time freeze using my mind. I floated behind the old me, and from my position, it did appear that they were kissing...

I sighed again and massaged my forehead. Kouko is a rich and beautiful young woman. This leads to people chasing after her for just the chance of getting her money. I know that she has guards with her, but being pressured by someone stalking and willing to kill the previous me... She is powerless, scared even...

True love? She really does love me, but was cornered at the party... The worst thing about this situation is he was blackmailing her! By using me, the person she loves, against her! And you know what I hate the most? Blackmail...

"I have to admit. I really did overreact huh... But I am so... Going to kill you..."

I mumbled while clenching my fist, it's my fault for overreacting and I will admit that. But seeing your first love kissing someone... It depends if a person has a strong heart or not, but I have a weak heart. Fragile as shit!

Contemplating for a few seconds, I resumed time and watched Kouko chasing me towards my dorm. Girls weren't allowed to enter our dorm, so she was stopped by the guard outside, who was told by me 'If someone is looking for me, please don't let them see me'.

She cried outside the gate for two hours, while I was drinking beer bought by a beer addicted roommate.

I decided to float towards Kouko. She texted her father to send some bodyguards to her location because she was followed by that hitman.

Not even thirty minutes passed the said hitman was apprehended and Kouko was dragged away by her father. Sadly, the hitman didn't even say who it was that hired and gave his orders.

Even though Kouko knows the person who was behind the hitman, there was no evidence. Not to mention the bastard was rich as well.

No matter how rich her father was, I told the guards not to let someone see me at that time...

My vision gets fuzzy for a moment and the scenery was changed once again, to the hospital this time. Kouko was trying to visit me every day and stayed outside my room for six hours each day... Even though she was kneeling and begging just to see me, the doctor still stopped her with a sorry face.

Things blur, and this time the location changed to when I was discharged. Kyoko tried to ask her father about where I was living, but he could only shake his head apologize to his daughter. Even her father was powerless in front of my doctor.

In fact, her father even seemed to approve of our relationship and supported us...

A final blur and the time changed to when I started to work at the restaurant. She knew where I was when her classmates started to talk about the rumors. Immediately, she came here to check if it was really me...

I should probably use the orb of a girl when not in battle. Damn you, goddess, for not telling me... 

I fainted.
