Hypnotized

Lunchtime is almost over. I was sitting on the sofa idly while waiting for Lilith's report. While waiting, a couple of students with high status greets me. They even tried to create a topic so they can have a chat with me a lot more. Some of them are from a Marquis family, some of them are from a Count's family. Those are the only two ranks that dared to approach me.

Even though I can tell other students wanted to get to know me better.

This rank system thing is getting on my nerves.

"Young master,"

"!" I blinked when I saw Lilith appeared out of nowhere beside me. "You scared me," I whispered.

Lilith looked flustered. "I-I apologize! next time I'll make a sound to let you know!"

"It's fine," I whispered again, tried to hold in my laughter over how funny Lilith's reaction was. "Anyway, the report?"

"Oh, yes!" Lilith nodded. "Renn is doing alright. He's chatting with his friends from the same table,"

Understandable.

"But there's a human- um, a boy, with a silver hair who bothered him,"

Corben Clearfall.

He's from a Marquis family, of course, he can bother Renn. They're on the same table. I groaned a little. I need to teach that kid a lesson.

"And for Julian, some students are speaking ill of him. Something about how he should learn his place. Same goes for Regan, and Luna,"

"... Hm," I hummed. "Do you remember their faces?"

"Yes, young master,"

"Good," I took another sip of my tea before standing up from the sofa. "Get Io for me,"

As I entered my next class, everything went normal. I see Regan, Julian and Renn are chatting together. Completely exiled by the others. Almost every student in that class greeted me politely. I greeted them back.

I took an empty seat near my friends. And unlike before, the three of them approached me with a big smile.

"How's your lunch, young master?"

"Call me Ezra," I pouted at Julian.

Julian cleared his throat. "... Ezra,"

"Hehe, you'll get used to it!" Renn exclaimed happily.

Regan sighed. "I still feel like I've committed a sin by addressing you informally,"

"I will hit someone in the butt if they dare scold you guys just because you call my name,"

"Why the butt?" Renn asked innocently.

"Because they're squishy. My body is fragile, I don't want to ruin my hands for hitting someone's hard jaw,"

The three of them looked at each other, then bursts into laughter.

As I expected, none of the students are whispering about this scene. They continued doing their own thing. They still steal a couple of glances toward us, but they didn't bother us.

Io has done a good job.

But it's different, he's not scaring off the kids that bothered my friends. He simply hypnotized them. It's a common ability for high-leveled demons like Io. The specific hypnosis I ordered to Io is hypnosis that will make someone feels normal every time they see Renn, Julian, and Regan chatting with me.

Some students that didn't get hypnotized felt confused. Usually, the higher-ranked students would've gossiped about Renn, Julian, and Regan by now.

But they're all quiet now.

Still, It's not like I ordered Io to hypnotized every single student. I know that there are some students that are still going to be mean to my friends. That's why I can't keep my guard down.

I caused trouble for them. Therefore, I have to protect them.
