"You've got to be kidding me,"

Callisto whined. "Young master, you have to think this through. We'll be going on a war next month. We should've focused on strengthening our army, not babysitting," He said as he pointing at the baby that Lilith is holding.

"His name is Crow," I corrected him.

"..." Callisto only silently glared at me.

In the end, I agreed on keeping the baby.

Even though at first I was sure that I'm not going to. But, something happened...

𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘈𝘨𝘰 . . .

I watched my brother Christopher left using teleportation, then I went to my meditation room. While meditating, I was contemplating whether should I keep that half-human half-demon baby with me or not. It sure will be troublesome.

And Callisto wouldn't shut up about it.

Because the number of demons in my army increased, Callisto didn't get enough nap because it's so loud.

One baby would make him hate my guts.

Io wouldn't want to babysit. He would say something like "I wouldn't want to waste my precious time on a dirty half-bred," or something.

And Lavender will forget about the baby in a second.

And I don't want to give Lilith any more trouble. She has to take care of my troublesome demons aka Io, Callisto, and Lavender. Then keeping track of everything that is happening in the realm and report it to me.

I sighed.

Yeah, I shouldn't create any more trouble. I need to focus on the war, not a baby that's not even mine.

Then, I went to the demon realm to see the baby and tell Lavender to get rid of the baby.

When I arrived at the temple, it was empty. I realized that Io, Lavender, and Callisto are busy working on their assigned places. I can't even find Lilith.

I decided to go to the temple where Lavender kept the baby.

The baby is still sleeping. I forgot that it's still a human baby, he needs a lot of nap.

I carefully leaned over to the baby's face.

"!"

Ack, it's squirming!

The baby yawned. He stretched his chubby baby arms and legs. I blinked, unsure what to do.

Then, the baby opened his eyes.

"..."

It's... it's fascinating.

Those black eyes, black eyes. Images of my previous life started to flash in front of my eyes. My friends, they all have black hair, black eyes. My mother, my father. And then, the image of me falling down the stairs.

And died.

"... Death," I whispered unconsciously.

This baby, reminded me of death. My own death.

The baby stared at me with his big black eyes quietly. I stared at him back. Then slowly, I reached out to him and touched his black hair.

It's, fluffy. Like feathers.

"Aba?"

"!?"

W-What?

The baby reached his tiny arms to me, smiling brightly.

"Aba!"

"!"

"That's why I decided to keep him," I said, filled with determination.

"... Because he's cute?" Callisto asked.

"Yes,"

"..."

"..."

"... I'm going to go ahead and hit my forehead several times on a wall," Callisto said casually as he floated out of the temple.

Io looked at me. "He kind of has a point, little master. Why bother wasting our precious time on a dirty half-bred?"

I knew he's going to say that.

I smiled. "He's still half-human,"

"But master~" Lavender chirped. "Who's going to take care of little Crow~?"

"I will!" I exclaimed happily.

"No," Io said in a calm manner. "You can't. Not physically possible. Just ask demon maids to do it,"

"Hm, that's true," I mumbled. "Alright, I'll assign maids to take care of Crow,"

Io chuckled. "I can't believe you will take care of this half-bred, little master,"

"I know. I know it's stupid, but," I looked at Crow who's sleeping peacefully on Lilith's arms. "I can't bring myself to abandon him,"

He reminded me too much of my previous home.
