Hopes and Dream (Part 1)

Arata was currently laying on his table, obviously sleeping. Nobody really wanted to interrupt it. Why? It was Arata, that's why nobody wanted to wake him up!

That and he came rather disgruntled into class, with eye bags and all that stuff that obviously showed that the guy didn't get much sleep the last day, or maybe at all.

Everyone was too scared to ask and the lesson would be just homeroom class anyways, so everyone decided to let Arata get his missed sleep. He was a diligent student anyway, closing one eye for this for him should be all right. Even the teacher was the same opinion as everyone in this.

And so, everything proceeded as normal and homeroom started.

"All right! You all are third years now. You know what this means! It's time that you all think about your futures and what you plan to do later in life! I will now distribute the career aspiration documents! "

But it was clearly obvious what everyone already aspired to be in the future.

"But hey, you all dream to become heroes anyways, so what's the point in distributing these anyways, am I right?"

Hearing this the class interpreted this as am invitation to demonstrate their quirk. All kinds of quirk were activated and chaos reigned in the classroom for a moment.

"Well, you all have good quirks, but be aware that using them in public spaces when you are not a hero is illegal."

"Sir, please don't put me into the same bag as all those extras. I don't plan to associate with the people that have weak quirks. You know?"

"What do you mean, Bakugou?"

"Aren't you too arrogant?"

"We aren't just some background characters!"

The class started to exclaim offended back at the school king. He might be the number one here, but being treated as nothing was still unpleasant.

"Shut up, you are just extras, so behave as such!"

He didn't really care though. None of the people shouting at him deserved his attention after all. The wanted to argue back, but then some incredible words were said by the teacher.

"Oh, right. Bakugou, you wanted to go to UA Highschool, didn't you?"

The class couldn't believe it, someone from here tried to enter that prestigious school that basically guaranteed that you will turn into a successful hero? But if it's Katsuki, he could surely make it. These words basically shut up the whole class.

"Haha, impressed you good for nothing extras? Well, I am not surprised that secondaries like you are mumbling about this! Because other than you, I scored A's across the board and as that am the only one that has the chance to go to UA!"

Katsuki jumped on the table to stand upright, to have more air for his little speech that he now planned holding, simply to assert dominance throughout the class.

"I will even surpass All Might and become the number one hero! I'll leave my name forever in the annual rankings of the top earners in the world!"

"Well, now that we talk about it, it's true that Midoriya also plans to go to UA."

Now Katsuki was shut up, he couldn't believe what he just heard now. That useless twig was trying to go to the same school as him? Katsuki could only laugh at that thought.

Same as the class. Everyone looked at the only other person that had the guts to go to the same school as Katsuki. They just started to laugh, because the person in front of them was still the same useless Deku. Everyone thought this was a funny joke, everyone but one.

"USELESS DEKU!"

Katsuki blew a fuse and just straight up ran towards Izukus seat and destroyed the table he sat on with a loud explosion he created from his quirk. He didn't find this funny at all, despite everything.

"You don't even have a weak quirk, you are quirkless! You are just a useless twig. So, why the hell are you trying to get on the same stage as I am, huh?"

Seeing the angry Katsuki, Izuku fell from his seat and slowly started to crawl backwards to the wall, trying to avoid his ever-closer inching former childhood friend.

"Wait! Don't misunderstand, Kacchan! I don't intend to compete with you at all! I swear!"

But obviously his words didn't have an effect, because Katsuki was still approaching him. Izukus words got quieter and quieter with the realization that words won't help him in this situation.

"It's just... being a hero is my dream since I was little... and..."

He got too silent.

"Speak up, you useless twig of a person! I can't hear you! What did you say?"

The class started to laugh at the sight of the boy that didn't dare to speak up.

Needless to say, this all created a big ruckus and what was difficult to do when you are in a loud place? Right, sleeping.

Everyone turned around the moment they felt a menacing feeling behind their back. Arata woke up from his peaceful sleep, looking really pissed off. Everyone gulped at the sight of the pissed off joker of the school.

"What is all this noise about? If this wasn't justified, I am going to beat up the person that started this."

Everyone felt a shiver run down the spine. In this moment Arata seemed really intimidating, especially now that one of his eyes was open and showed a strong red glow.

"Sei - Seigi-kun, please calm down."

He won't just calm down with that, not when his precious necessary sleep was interrupted. Everyone started to panic in his presence, everyone but Katsuki.

"Yo, Arata! Finally decided to be awake? As for why we were just loud now? It's simple, we are talking about our career dreams. Isn't that obvious that these extras are going to get excited talking about that? After all, talking about our careers is the same as talking about our dreams for the future and what kind of hero you plan to be. Can't do that without demonstrating our quirks, can we?"

Everyone gulped at the sight of the two strongest people in school facing off each other. They were grateful that Katsuki interfered, but they were still fearful about the possible destruction of the classroom.

The two were facing off, until Arata suddenly just sighed and sit back down. Apparently, that was reasonable enough for him not to beat someone up. As the atmosphere calmed down again a certain question appeared in everyone's mind.

"To which high school will you go, Arata? Probably UA, like Bakugou, right? I mean, you might not be strong as him, but you definitely got the brains and talent for that, right?"

A courageous classmate asked out to him. Arata just shook his head. Everyone was confused about that. One after another asked him if he will go to another prestigious hero high school, but one after another were shot down. Everyone was confused, everyone had a bad premonition.

"You will be a hero, right Arata?"

He smiled gently, giving of a calm aura.

"Nope, I don't plan to be one."

The class was silent. They hoped this wouldn't be the case. It was obvious that a tumult was going to follow, accompanied by exclaims of worry why he wouldn't want to be a hero. Needless to say, Arata wasn't comfortable with strangers invading his personal space. So as always, he walked out of the crowd before it could get too crowded.

"Guys, not everyone dreams to be a hero! And to be perfectly honest, I am not comfortable talking about my reasonings why I won't be one with people I barely know. Now get off my place, you annoy me!"

Everyone did as they were ordered and after a while his place was free from annoying people again.

"Well, good for me, I guess. This only means that there is less competition for me."

"Whatever Bakugou, I don't care."

And with that the classroom turned silent. The feeling an unsettled Arata gave off was pretty uncomfortable after all.

After a while everyone decided to ignore him and began talking about their future aspirations again and once again, Izuku was saved by Arata.

------------------------------------------------------------------

School was over and everyone prepared to go home or do something else.

Izuku was currently looking on his phone, excitingly looking for any hero related news on the web. As it stands out, the incident this morning trended all over social media. It was interesting, the newspaper that worked with the government ridiculed Glows words, saying that it was just propaganda that only had the purpose to make the government look bad.

And that opinion was shared throughout the internet. Though there were a few articles from free working news sited and some posts by random users that said that Glow said the truth. That it truly was that bad over there. That they are doing good work, etc.

Izuku didn't really have an opinion about the politics, but he found that Glow guy interesting.

But before he could continue reading his articles, he saw Bakugou taking his hero notebook, peeking inside of it.

"Pft, seriously? For the future? And you are taking your own notes about heroes, that's interesting."

Izuku was surprised. There was no mockery in his voice, he hoped it would continue like that.

It didn't. Bakugou threw the notebook in the air. Izuku wanted to catch it, but instead he met a fist into the face. It really hurt.

"You know, I am a bit of a perfectionist, Deku. I want those who seek to continue their studies at UA have a certain dignity."

He picked up Izukus notebook, before incinerating it with a weaker explosion. After that he threw it out of the window.

Izuku looked at his notebook in passing. He felt something cracking inside of him. This notebook might be the thirteenth copy in his analysis collection, but it was still something that contained his passion. His dreams of becoming a hero, his hopes that one day something might change and a path opened for him. These things were contained in his notebook and it was very painful for him seeing it floating down out of the window. Burning.

But he couldn't do anything. He was too weak for that. He had to sit through Katsukis talk before he can leave the place, he had to listen after all, because he was weaker. He cursed his weak self and wished that he had the power to oppose Bakugou.

Luckily it looked like Katsuki decided to give Izuku mercy and walked out of the room. It seemed like he was satisfied seeing the broken-down teenager. One of Katsukis friends still had to say something though.

"Oi, you could have at least answered something, right?"

"He can't."

Katsuki instead decided to answer.

"It's really pathetic. Even as a third year he doesn't have the courage to see things in the face. It's really pathetic."

Izuku gritted his teeth in anger. 'I could have now if you hadn't decided to interrupt me!' were the thoughts that filled his head.

"Oh, I forgot. There is a very effective way to become a hero."

Izuku only listened with half an ear, after all there couldn't be such a convenient way, right?

"Make a leap of faith on the roof and pray that you get a quirk in your next life, useless Deku!"

He turned around in anger, wanting to say something about that. But one little explosion in Katsukis hand was enough to shut him up. He felt really pathetic this moment.

After Katsuki and his friends were gone, Izuku walked down to the pond, wanting to grab his notebook. He was brooding and his mind was filled with hate.

"Stupid moron. If I would jump from the roof I would die, think before you start to speak, you stupid moron. Oh dammit, why did my notes have to fall into the pond. Stupid fish this isn't something to eat, it's my notes. Piss off!"

He angrily grabbed his notebook. But someone was faster than him.

"Oh, these are hero notes! And so detailed too! That is so impressive, especially for someone our age."

It was the second strongest in the school.

"So, you dream to be a hero in the future? That is so impressive, especially with you being quirkless and all! Tell me, what are you doing in your free time to make this a possibility? Cardio training? Muscle training? Stamina training? Tell me!"

It was Arata and he really looked happy and excited right now. He looked like a person that you could trust your worries on.

"Honestly I do nothing, hehe."

Aratas expression warped instantly is something scarier...

???:

"Hello Author-san here!"

You look at a girl wearing some glasses that has long black hair do some stupid poses.

"Hey! Anyways, I tried my first approach on the forbidden technique of us authors! The cliff(hänger)!"

She changed her stupid pose into another stupid pose.

"Why am I writing such rude words to me? Anyways, because this is my first cliff, the extra bit isn't related to the story once again, this makes it the third time, right? The next time I will try to think about a short extra, so please bear with me this time!"

The weird posing girl now stood straight up again, standing like a normal human being. (Why?)

She waves at you, saying her goodbye.
