Hogwarts Express

September finally arrived, the start of Hogwarts.

Trenton was growing tired of lugging his school gear around while complaining on the inside how Hermione received help with hers.

This reminded him of how wizards were lazy and wouldn't exercise because they had spells for virtually everything they ever needed. They did have ways of boosting the body with potions and certain spells, though such spells often didn't fix the underlying stamina problem from never working out.

Due to his own lazy nature, he came up with a way to augment such spells, to where it worked out his body without him needing to lift a finger, so he could look and feel good. He wondered why other wizards didn't do this, but that goes back to the lazy nature of most who didn't want to bother, feeling it made little difference.

Every little advantage helped in battle though, while others worried about becoming tired due to being out of shape, he would shrug it off and keep going. He wouldn't tire as fast or necessarily need the magic boost most wizards used.

Trenton had to be careful using such magic at his age though, he didn't want to negatively affect his growth. He may end up waiting until he's older before using it.

Rocky obediently walking beside him with a purple leash loosely placed around him so he wouldn't gather unnecessary attention, it matched his purple collar.

The two families made their way to the platform confused as to where it was exactly they were supposed to go since there was no platform 9 and 3/4.

Hermione- "I read it's a portal that takes you to a hidden area here and will only work for those families who were given a Hogwarts letter, it should be right here." she stated while swiping her hand against the wall just to make sure, grinning when she was proven right.

Trenton was once again reminded how much more Hermione liked reading than him. She had no preference, if it was in a book, she would read it. Trenton, on the other hand, would only read things that fancy him or he finds useful.

Trenton couldn't help but roll his eyes which made her pout in response at his dismissive attitude.

Mrs. Granger giggled- "Alright my little genius, let's try it out and see what's on the other side."

But before any of them moved to try it, everyone looked at Mr. Epperson.

Mr. Epperson who just realized what was going on started feeling embarrassed as he defensively spoke a little loud giving a 'harumph'- "Oh no, not this time, someone else go first."

This got a laugh out of everyone.

Trenton still just a kid, in the end, took his chance as he yelled- "Your right it's my turn... (He took off running with Rocky happily running beside him barking, feeding off of his master's energy.) It's A Me, Mario! Here We Go!" Jumping through the portal.

The others could only facepalm at his antics as they waited for everyone who looked over to see who yelled, go back to doing what they were when they couldn't find who was responsible. The spell placed on the portal for muggles to ignore the happenings going on didn't take into account a kid yelling loudly with a barking dog. No one would have thought anyone would do something so foolish and risk getting caught by muggles.

Trenton didn't care about any of that though, he just wanted to have fun, he figured as a kid he could get away with it, plus it's what he would have done with or without his new memories. He could be reckless at times depending on what mood he was in.

Shortly after he arrived through the portal taking in all the hustle and bustle, the rest joined him.

Mrs. Epperson gave him a playful smack on the back of the head.

"Hey what was that for?" he asked innocently.

Hermione answered for her- "You attracted everyone's attention with your stunt, what if we got caught?"

Trenton sheepishly grinned in response causing Hermione to roll her eyes at him.

Then the family started getting sentimental as it grew time for them to board and leave them.

"Make, sure you have all your stuff, don't forget about Rocky when you get there, take good care of him, and Hermione while your there, be good, and make sure you don't forget you know." Mrs. Epperson said, pointing to her eyes, then gave him a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Mooom, I'll be fine, and don't kiss me anymore, I'm a grown man," Trenton said while rubbing his cheek.

Mrs. Epperson almost couldn't stop herself from laughing 'Pfttt'- "Even if you were a grown man, you'll always be my baby." she said rubbing his hair. Causing him to complain again while fixing it. "Hey, don't do that."

Mrs. Epperson smiled- "Alright my little man."

Trenton slumped down in defeat.

Mrs. Granger was doing similar to Hermione who happily accepted it- "I'll miss you my little pumpkin."

Hermione hugged her back just as tightly- "I'll miss you too, I'll be sure to write often, they have owls in Hogwarts that anyone can use to send letters."

Mrs. Epperson hearing that turned to Trenton- "You hear that Trenton, be sure to write us often as well."

Trenton only mumbled in response- "Yeah, yeah."

They waved goodbye one last time before boarding.

Navigating their way around while avoiding other busy kids they don't yet know and the many familiars before finding a compartment to themselves. Hermione wanted to stop and try and start conversations about their pets and other things she learned to get a feel for how much more they knew than her, but Trenton made sure to keep her grounded so has not to give off a bad first impression.

They sat opposite each other with Rocky pushing himself into Trenton's lap who got a happy laugh as Rocky tried to lick his face, but Trenton only ever lets him lick the bottom of his chin. Hermione pulled out one of her many books to pass the time as the train took off.

They soon received a knock as a shy clumsy-looking kid started to fumble his words- "h, hi, I, I'm Neville, can I stay here?"

Hermione was the first to greet him standing up to shake his hand- "Hi, I'm Hermione, this is Trenton, don't worry he's not as scary as he looks, and that cute doge is Rocky, he's super soft and nice to pet, come on in."

Neville looked relieved as he sat down listening to Hermione converse with him. Gathering courage he asked about Rocky- "Wha, What's his name again?"

Trenton- "Rocky, would you like to pet him?"

Neville grinned as he reached out to stroke Rocky only hesitating a little to make sure the dog was fine with it.- "He is soft, I wish I had a pet like this, but I was given a toad."

Trenton perked up hearing he had a toad, thinking back to the pet shop- "A toad, can it do anything special? I saw this frog in a pet shop that could jump real fast and bounce around like a ball."

Neville sighed- "No, Trevor is just a bit smarter than your average frog."

Trenton's curiosity not dampened asked- "Where is it?"

Neville- "Oh, he's just right, right... Oh no, where is Trevor!" He shouted, frantically looking around for him.

Hermione tried to calm him- "Don't worry Neville we'll help you find him."

Trenton then looked at Rocky- "Yeah, I think I know where he is, but let's let Rocky find him, do you have anything with his scent?"

Neville's eyes brightened- "Sure I do, can he really do it?"

"Of course, Rocky's the best," Trenton boasted, receiving a bark of confirmation from Rocky who was now standing up due to the commotion, furiously wagging his tail.

Neville- "Oh thank you, thank you, I don't know what I would do if I lost it, my grandma would kill me."

Trenton- "Thank me after we find it, now what do you have that Rocky can sniff?"

Neville- "Sure, here you go." he said handing over Trevor's wet blanket.

Hermione- "Um, Neville, you wrap your frog in a blanket?"

Neville- "Sure do, don't want to be losing him."

"..."

They didn't have the heart to say anything, leaving that talk for another day.

Trenton looking down at Rocky who was beating the wall with his tail- "Here you go boy, get a whiff of this and find him."

Rocky understanding started sniffing before taking off- "Follow him."

It wasn't long before they found Trevor sitting in the bathrooms sink. The rest of the trip was uneventful with Trenton buying a couple of snacks off the Trolley and a treat that Rocky could eat for doing a good job.
