Time Skip

Christmas was coming and Trenton was debating whether or not to stay and steal the cloak from Harry or go home with Hermione. After mulling it over, he chose to go home, unable to come up with an excuse as to why he wished to stay, plus Dumbledore would likely keep a close eye on Harry's activities once he received it for the first time.

Hermione did finally managed to make some Ravenclaw friends while Trenton was doing his own thing. His lack of reading made Hermione slightly apprehensive, but Trenton wasn't about to sit around and read things he already knew when he could be having fun out and about. This was something he sorely lacked the last time around when he was much like Hermione with his nose always in a book.

He had a different perspective this time around, and that was to have as much fun as possible. He found that while he played around with his magic in a casual way he was learning far more anyways. The way it flowed and moved around him, how to draw it just right so he wasted as little of it as possible. He even found the new wand that limited his capabilities helped him learn how to do more with less.

He knew he couldn't rely on his past memories though and would have to start reading again in the coming years to make sure he wasn't missing anything and of course, increase his knowledge knowing he wouldn't have known everything even in his past life, but for now, he liked the way things were going and didn't wish to worry about the future.

For now, he was just a kid and he was going to enjoy it, completely unaware of the dangerous changes that took place.

However, there was one irritating factor that still nagged at him as he glared daggers at Ron whenever he passed who only had the guts to glare back in the presence of Harry.

Trenton was still trying to come up with a way to dispose of him without alerting anyone. He was slightly hopeful that the coming trials that Hermione bailed him out of would-be his end, but he had a sneaking suspicion Dumbledore would be around in the shadows making sure nothing unforeseen happen or at the very least have set it up so nothing would since the goal was for Harry and Tom to meet and end things.

Over the Christmas break, Trenton made plans to acquire an invisibility cloak to replace with Harry's at some point. He still found it very surprising Dumbledore would let such a powerful item go to a kid, he didn't understand why Dumbledore placed so much weight on prophecies when he could just as easily take care of Tom himself. Just because a baby survived based on a prophecy didn't mean you have to bet everything on it all of a sudden.

Trenton's life was a perfect example of prophecy not really mattering in the end, because once a prophecy is known, it is no longer a fact but a guide that can easily be discarded and changed.

The funniest part is they had no idea how truly powerful the cloak actually was, not only could it hide you from anything, but it was virtually indestructible from all except Death ironically enough considering the story.

It shocked him when he learned that it was never used in battle, what a waste. Even if they didn't know about its indestructible nature, the fact you could run around unseen meant you could practically get away with anything, that alone should have won them the battle.

He did recall that the cloak was size limited and that as they grew up they couldn't' as easily cover themselves under it, which would be one of the reasons Dumbledore never bothered with it, the 2nd would have been that he had the elder wand which pumped him full of confidence, feeling no need to hide.

This didn't explain though why Harry never used it in the war, he still would have had an enormous advantage even if one could see a floating arm or legs with no upper body running around. Trenton suspected it probably had to do with some righteous morality of fighting fairly thanks to Dumbledore making sure he never strayed from the light out of fear of another dark lord rising. They even did their best not to take lives which in the end caused far more unnecessary deaths that could have been prevented.

Trenton wouldn't have such problems, in a war, you do what you have to and use every means available. The cloak would be far more useful in his hands, plus with his connection to the deathly hallows, he could likely fix that size issue that plagued them in their later years.

After the Christmas break, everything resumed as normal.

Trenton still being a kid hanging out with friends, playing with Rocky, and at times even playing with toys. Creating a toy boat that he would put on the lake and then form tiny water spouts and whirlpools which it had to avoid. The Giant Squid even made an appearance once and entertained him as he had the boat try and avoid the tentacles.

Later getting his friends to join him and do tiny boat races and stuff, it was a lot of fun.

He thought about checking out the baby dragon, but he didn't want to risk the chance of running into Ron who would likely be there.

Harry and Ron did manage to find their way to the same place as last time. Ron to Trenton's delight did get choked out by the plant, but unfortunately survived. While Harry resigning to his fate sat still and was able to make it out as before and continue on, only getting slightly hung up on the chess part without Ron.

Pretty much everything went exactly the same, except for Hermione who with her new friends helped Ravenclaw collect so many more points than the rest, thus winning the house cup. No amount of points Dumbledore gave Harry and Ron would make up the difference without being called out for being biased.

Hermione being the biggest contributor for first years was given honors among her Ravenclaw peers, though there were of course some jealous of her, they couldn't complain much since they ultimately benefited from the prizes. Prizes like extra trips to Hogsmeade, more time to make it to class before you're considered late, more free time in general, among other things.
