The Innocent and the Bad Influence

According to psychological studies, a person has a tendency to perform better when they see someone who's lower than them.

Hierarchical systems are already evident even all the way back in history. Generally, they are there to classify people based on their ranks and positions in society, which greatly affect how they are seen and treated by the world.

But then, it can't be denied that humans have the urge to compare themselves to others, and once they're placed in a position that's higher than the rest, most will often carry the mindset that they're better - that they're the only ones that really matter. In many cases, these people who stay at the rock bottom have become some sort of motivation to those on the top.
