Chapter I

Silent and surrounded by dark fog, a place where monsters and many evil beings live. The southern Plain of Han is dominated by woods and big trees. A very strategic spot for the savages to finish off everything on their sights without mercy.

Humans are not allowed to enter the deeper part of the woods when the sun is down for their own safety. Even for werewolves, they often get wounded in the battle against those monsters although they are far more powerful than human.

But still, humans often risk their lives and enter the woods at night knowing all the danger watching them from all over it. The reason is simple. The body parts of those things, such as claws, fangs, fur, or any other have a high value. With the courage and weapons, humans desperately go through the dark fog. It's either brave or simply stupidity.

"I guess the rumor is true after all. The fog is getting thicker lately," said a guy with a whisper voice. "Yes, and why do I have to go with you, Park Jimin? You've been appointed as Sub[1], just like me! Should I tell Namjoon to take back his words?"

[1] Abbreviation of Subordinate. A special group above Omega that is considered to have the ability like Beta, but remain in the lower level of Beta in the hierarchy.

"Yujin-ah, it's way more fun to do this together. Besides, Seokjin hyung always so busy with our Alpha," said Jimin. "So, you think I'm not busy?"

"Why are you being like this? Oh, I know! Did I just ruin your plan tonight? Maybe you have a date with---" before finishing his sentence, suddenly something comes out from the fog. The size is huge, just like its roar. Both of them thrown away because its sudden appearance.

"Damn!" Jimin stands up immediately and transformed. Strong, with his ashy brown coat and sharp yellow eyes. Yujin tried to stand up as well but suddenly something hit her with a full force. Another one makes its appearance with the same exact savageness. Jimin takes the position right in front of her for protection.

Her ears are ringing because of the blow she took makes her fall on the ground. She shakes her head to regain her consciousness.

"You okay?" In the wolf form, werewolves communicate through their minds and eyes, just like telepathy. "Sort of, yeah," with that, Yujin also transformed into her wolf form with the shining silver coat and bright blue eyes that look glowing under the moonlight.

"Can I consider myself lucky bringing you with me tonight?"

"Focus, Jim. Let's get this done quick."

Jimin just gives her his smirk and they immediately finish off those monsters.

Namjoon pushes the big door to get in to the usual room he uses with the other 3. There isn't many furniture in there. Just a long wooden table with a nicely cushioned chairs and a few bookshelves and other racks arranged nicely around the room.

The room is dimmed light from the yellowish lights from the lamp in the middle. The ambiance is definitely cozy. Right across the room, at the very end, there's a pretty big window and the moon can be clearly seen from there. It's such a beautiful sight.

"They're not back yet?" asked Namjoon with confusion knowing the room is completely empty. "Really?" Seokjin follows him from behind, entering the room as well.

Namjoon walks pass the long table to the window and opens it. The night breeze strokes in right away. His brown hair moves alongside the wind. He looks up to the sky. It's not as clear as usual but the stars still can be seen shining with the crescent moon that night.

"Are you worried about her?" Seokjin joins him and leans against the window frame with his arms crossed. "What?" Namjoon turns his head facing him. "Yujin," said Seokjin with his teasing smile. "Yes, of course. Jimin too."

"You know it's not what I meant."

"I've told you hundreds of time, hyung. It's not like anything in your head. Yujin is like my sister. Besides, she's not my mate. Our marks aren���t connecting."

"Hey, who cares if she's your mate or not? Before you find your true mat, it's fine to have a thing for her."

"A-a thing? Hyung! I told you it's not like that!"

"Of course it's not like that. I just love seeing that reaction of yours every time I mention about it."

Seokjin gives a pat on Namjoon's shoulder and laughs as he leaves him to one of the bookshelves in that room. Really, he believes Namjoon doesn't see Yujin that way. But seeing never-changing his reaction like that, isn't it cute? He always makes the 'not like that' seem like 'it's like that'.

Suddenly the big doors open, showing the other 2. Seokjin and Namjoon look at the same direction to the door at the same time. They walk to both of them. They look quite messy. Their clothes are covered with dirt.

"Gosh. Did you go on patrol or fell into mud, huh?" asked Seokjin, inspecting them from top to bottom.

"You're back early," said Yujin as she wipes her sweat.

"Did something happen?", asked Namjoon. "A sudden attack. The fog was pretty thick then 2 monsters, big and strong," said Jimin. "Interesting," Seokjin nods as he listens to their explaination.

Namjoon's eyes catch something to his attention. "What's wrong with your face?" his hand moves to Yujin's cheek. It looks swollen. Yujin gasped as a sudden pain rushes through her head. "Ah, sorry," Namjoon pulls back his arm. "No worries. Just like that Jimin said, there was a sudden attack. I wasn't paying attention."

"You both better clean up first. There's something we all need to talk about. Namjoon and I also found something."

Both of them leaves the room to their own.

Yujin closes the door of her room and lets out a long exhale while closing her eyes. Exhausting. She leaves to the bathroom and sees her own reflection in the mirror. Filthy and a mess.

After taking off all her clothes, Yujin lets her body be under the warm shower. All of her muscles and joints that felt so sore slowly washed away as the warmth goes through her skin. Yujin feels really clean and refreshed after all the dirt and sweat completely gone.

Yujin steps out of the shower, already with a fresh clean clothes. She tilts her face a little to see her swelling face. "Werewolf heals faster than human. One of the thing I should be grateful for," she said while putting some lotion to soothe the swelling on her cheek.

The clock hanging in her room shows the time is almost midnight. It's almost midnight but one thing still in her mind. Is he still waiting at our usual spot? But it's late already.

Yujin quickly steps out and goes to the room. Seokjin and Namjoon found something? First, the fog now what? It feels like things are getting busier for werewolves. Such a hassle.

When she opens the big wooden door, Yujin sees the other 3 have taken their seats there. The 3 of them look at her. "Sorry, did I made you wait a while?" Yujin walks to the seat on Jimin's left on the left side of the table. "Not really. Should we start now?" said Seokjin, then he looks at Namjoon.

"We found some corpse of monsters. They're not really big. But the thing is, they are all in different condition, unlike usual. It looks like they were killed by weapons. Human weapons," Namjoon explains with a serious tone. "Human can kill a monster with their weapons. Is there anything weird with it?" asked Jimin.

"Yes, of course. But think about it. Humans hunt monsters for money. But, why did they left them just like that? Every parts of their body were intact. Why would they risk their lives for nothing?" Seokjin shares his thoughts.

"Exactly. Aside from that, I found some sort of trap. I don't know if it's supposed to catch a monster or any other things. But one thing for sure, it's connected to those corpses," Namjoon adds the statement.

"Is it some kind of weapon test or something?"

"Yes, I also had that thought. But for what?"

"I don't know. More income perhaps?"

"It doesn't explain why they left those monsters, Yujin. Besides, they shouldn't be in the woods after sunset. And those corpses look pretty fresh." Namjoon continues.

"Maybe they just become greedy. We never know," adds Seokjin.

Suddenly in the middle of the serious meeting, a roudy footsteps can be heard from inside the room. "Alpha! We got a problem!"

"What now?"
