A Rowdy Night (3)

The middle-aged merchant and the wastrel stood with their guards between each other. Since they had nothing in common, they didn't think anything of being together, and when the staff began evacuating guests, one female staff also approached them.

"Please, honoured guests, follow me to the exit," said the staff member with their hands held together at their waist in a bow.

Due to the nature of this business, the staff members wore uniforms which emphasized certain body parts. For example, there was an opening on the top of the staff member's chest, so when she bowed, the top view of her cleavage was in clear view. Naturally, the wastrel drooled at the sight of the valley, but the merchant only took a single glance. He seemed to be less lustful than the wastrel, but he was just better at hiding his interest. The moment her chest was revealed, both of them showed a moment of weakness that wouldn't be missed.

Suddenly, a blade entered the chests of the merchant and the wastrel. Surprisingly, the merchant had been stabbed from behind by one of his guards while the wastrel was pierced by a spear that poked out from the staff member's sleeve. Once they confirmed the deaths of their targets, Shui ,who had discreetly replaced one of the merchant's guards, and the fox assassin, who wore the face of a charming young lady, jumped away from the scene.

"Boss!"

"Young Master!"

"Kill the traitor!"

Around half the guards stayed to check on their respective masters, while the rest chased after the two with a vengeance. It wouldn't be too difficult for them to make their escape, but Shui felt that this was an opportunity. When he glanced at his partner, he could tell that she had the same idea so they nodded at each other and changed direction. Instead of leaving, they rushed towards the ground stage where the auctioneer and his assistant were still standing.

The moment the staff noticed them, they immediately realised their intentions and panicked. In order to hold this auction, it was necessary for someone hold the items in a storage ring until it was time to sell them, and the one with that ring was the auctioneer.

"Stop them!"

"Don't let them reach the stage!"

The staff were desperate to prevent them from accomplishing their new goal, but shouting wouldn't change anything. Shui smirked as he thought of all the treasures that he would find in that storage ring, but suddenly, he sensed a dangerous presence.

"Fox!"

Without any time to explain, he grabbed the fox assassin into his embrace before slamming his palm on the ground. As the ground shook from the activation of the Four Elements Technique, the terrifying aura of a Master filled the arena.

The staff breathed a sigh of relief, while the fox assassin panicked in Shui's arms. She knew that there would be an expert staying in the background to supervise the auction, but she didn't expect that this job would be given to a Master.

"We have to escape!" she told Shui.

However, he replied, "Just give me a second. We aren't leaving empty-handed."

At first she thought that he had lost control in the face of treasure, but he soon proved her wrong. Using the Earth of the Four Elements Technique, Shui caused an earthquake across the amphitheatre. Just as the Master watching from the shadows reached for them, sections of the audience seats ruptured upwards and poked out from their original positions.

"Ah!"

"No!"

In this mayhem, the Master couldn't launch an attack lest he risk injuring the guests and facing the wrath of their influences. Within the newly formed landscape, the fox assassin gasped in amazement. She was impressed both by Shui's quick wits and his exceptional strength.

'Maybe he can...'

With the human walls of protection he created, Shui let go of the fox assassin and went after the auctioneer once more with her following shortly after.

The auctioneer was shocked by the way they stopped the Master from intervening, but he knew that this wasn't the time to lose his composure. Although he couldn't see through the cultivations of the two, if he allowed them to steal the goods then his life would likely be forfeit.

"Hmph, do you think I'm some pushover?!"

The auctioneer stretched out his arms and summoned two gigantic, black and ominous hands that tried to smash them into bloody paste. The auctioneer was a man in early Sky Realm while they were both in Earth Realm, but neither of them had a hint of fear in their eyes.

Instead of fighting against the spell, Shui pounced at the auctioneer with lightning fast speed while the fox assassin vanished from sight. Shui first knocked away the sexy assistant holding the sealed scythe artifact, and then reached for the auctioneer's neck before quickly pulling back. A split-second later, a line was drawn between him and the auctioneer that erupted with terrifying grey flames.

Noticing that the Master had gotten up and was making his way through the chaos, Shui glanced at the fox assassin and they both immediately retreated.

"Stop right there!"

The powerful voice of the Master shook the souls of those in the audience, but it had no effect on the two figures who dashed through the troubled audience members towards the exit. The Master smirked when he remembered that he could just follow them to a less crowded area before delivering judgement, but right before his eyes, they disappeared.

"What? Impossible!!!"

He repeatedly ran his overbearing spiritual sense over the audience, but he still couldn't find a trace of them. A Master was one who could greatly influence the natural laws, so their soul strength was incomparable to those in the Sky Realm, and yet he still couldn't find them. He didn't think that it was possible for them to hide from him, so he assumed that they were in possession of some sort of teleportation device. Since he couldn't sense a distinct spatial fluctuation, he believed that they had to still be within the city, but he didn't dare spread his spiritual sense that far. They had a deal with the administration of Paraj, but he couldn't afford to take any risks which could damage their relationship.

"Damn it!!!"

Frustrated that he allowed them to escape, the Master turned his attention to the two assassins that were still fighting Iris. They had tried to leave the moment they sensed him, but Iris forced them to stay. Now that they could feel his hateful gaze focus on them, they became desperate to escape. Both of them took out a forbidden medicine pill and ate it. They then used the instantaneous burst of energy to temporarily free themselves from Iris, but they were too late. Once the Master had the chance to focus on them, he wouldn't let them go.

The assassins took two steps away from the battle before freezing in place. They were both half-step Sky Realm experts, but a Master's mental control was stronger than all the power they could muster.

"Bugs!"

With a single thought, the two were crushed into clumps of meat and bones. Even some of the cultivators who should have been used to gory sights, had to look away from the gruesome sight as their hearts were filled with fear towards that power. The Master left without revealing his face, but no one could forget him.
