Awkward Introductions

The address Claire had been given was a three-story townhouse in Manhattan. This part of town was pretty old and fancy but there weren't garages. Residents and guests had to park in a nearby parking structure for a fee.

Joe already said her family could cover the fees for her and get her a parking pass. He left his own long-term parking pass on her front doorstep before leaving the day before, saying it would be easy for him to get a new one.

She and Alex pulled their suitcases behind them (he owned so few clothes that he managed to fit his weapons case inside it before they left the parking garage to be safe) and stared up at the building looming before them.

Dread filled her stomach and as Claire stood there he grabbed her hand. She looked at him questioningly. "What are you doing?"
