I Have Something To Do

Dinner didn't go much better than the first family meeting did. Claire noticed right away that her table manners (and Alex's) were different than these peoples. Some of them tried talking to her but she felt that most of their questions were mocking.

She couldn't be positive of any of their intentions yet aside from Bianca's. The woman was openly disdainful of her but said things in such a way that they were difficult to refute.

Well, Claire supposed she couldn't blame her for the disdain. She was living proof of her husband's infidelity. What she would blame her for was going as far as involving hitmen in her petty anger.

Joe had said Henry wanted to pass on her part of the inheritance…was that why Bianca waited so long to strike? She might not want Claire to take anything away from her own children.

She had no interest in a stranger's money. All she wanted was to be able to live in peace.
